Chapter 234 - Chapter 234: Monster

"Hiss."

Outside the tent, Konoha ninja heard a series of sharp intakes of breath coming from within. They turned their gazes toward it curiously, wondering what could possibly shock the village's top leaders inside to such an extent.

Inside the tent, Tsunade and the others wore expressions of extreme shock on their faces.

"Y-You... What did you just say?"

Tsunade, overwhelmed with disbelief, stammered as she looked at Sakumo Hatake, as if doubting her own ears.

Even Hyuga Hiashi and Aburame Fumiro, each head of their respective clan, couldn't maintain their calm composure, staring at Sakumo with strange expressions in their eyes.

Orochimaru, hailed by the Third as a brilliant genius, also found himself unable to believe Sakumo's earlier words.

This was because they all understood how much more difficult it was to create a ninjutsu compared to merely mastering one.

They found it hard to believe Minato could even master an S-rank Ninja Technique, let alone invent something at the level of an Ultimate Art.

And not only Minato—who was still just months away from turning eleven—but throughout decades of history in the Ninja World filled with countless prodigies, those capable of developing their own techniques were already rare exceptions.

As for creating an S-rank Ultimate Art? That was truly the work of someone whose fingers could be counted on one hand.

In fact, some geniuses spent their entire lives without ever managing to develop an S-rank Ultimate Art.

If anyone else had said this, they'd be laughing their heads off right now.

Because that's like something out of a fairy tale!

Yet the one who spoke was Sakumo Hatake. They knew his character—he wouldn't joke about something like this, especially not in such a setting.

All eyes focused on Sakumo, but he didn't seem particularly surprised himself.

After all, if he hadn't witnessed it personally beforehand, he wouldn't have believed such a thing either.

Then he shrugged slightly, shifting his gaze toward Minato beside him, and said sideways, "Why don't you explain it to them yourself?"

Previously, Sakumo had promised Minato he would keep secret the fact that he was developing a technique. However, since Minato had brought it up here, that meant he no longer intended to keep it hidden.

Minato raised his eyes and exchanged glances with him. He then realized that Tsunade and the other four were looking at him with somewhat unsettling stares.

Still, he understood their astonishment. After all, although his appearance suggested he wasn't quite eleven yet, they didn't know that across two lifetimes, he'd actually lived more than thirty years.

Even so, developing an S-rank technique within those thirty years was impressive. Especially considering that at least ten of them overlapped between his two lives, during which he hadn't accessed any information related to being a ninja. Minato certainly deserved the title of genius.

A low hum filled the air.

Knowing words alone might sound weak, Minato simply lifted his hand and directly formed a glowing Rasengan in his palm.

[Rasengan]

Minato had used the Rasengan on the battlefield before, but Tsunade, Orochimaru, and the others reacted no differently than Fumiro Aburame, who was seeing it for the first time.

Tsunade and the others all stared at the Rasengan in Minato's palm. After a brief moment of thought, Tsunade exclaimed in surprise, "To be able to push chakra shape transformation to such an extent—what kind of jutsu is this?"

As someone who specialized in medical ninjutsu—requiring extreme precision in chakra control—it didn't take her long to grasp the fundamental principle of the Rasengan just by looking at it.

With Tsunade's observation as a prompt, Orochimaru and Fumiro Aburame also looked at the Rasengan with expressions of astonishment. None of them had ever encountered anything like it before.

Hiashi Hyuga's eyes bulged slightly as he activated his Byakugan directly to observe the interior of the Rasengan, clearly seeing the chakra spinning rapidly in Minato's hand.

In terms of principles, the Rasengan bore some similarity to the secret technique of the Hyuga Clan—the Rotation.

The difference was that Rotation required physical spinning and constant emission of large amounts of chakra to maintain, whereas the Rasengan maintained its form through controlled spinning of a set amount of chakra.

Although its scale paled in comparison to Rotation, in terms of ease of learning and technical refinement, the Rasengan surpassed Rotation by a significant margin.

All four of them saw how Minato had created the Rasengan instantly, without any hand seals.

So regarding this previously unseen jutsu, they weren't only shocked by its technique—they were also filled with curiosity about its origin.

Minato glanced at the four of them before smiling and saying, "This is the Rasengan. I came up with it myself."

As his words faded, Tsunade and the others couldn't help but twitch involuntarily.

Since Sakumo had given them prior warning, they all had their own suspicions about where the Rasengan originated. Each of them had reached the same conclusion, though none could truly believe it.

But when faced with undeniable proof, they had no choice but to believe it.

For a moment, the air inside the tent seemed to freeze, with only the roar of the rapidly spinning chakra from the Rasengan echoing around them.

The four wore frozen expressions, their eyes wide with disbelief as they stared at Minato in silence.

Minato did his best to pretend not to notice their stares, while Sakumo stood by with a faint, knowing smirk on his face.

"Monster," Tsunade whispered softly after a long silence, breaking the tense atmosphere.

Upon hearing her words, Minato's lips quirked slightly. And once she'd spoken, everyone except Sakumo nodded in agreement.

"Yeah..."

"That's right."

"You're actually only eleven?"

Hiashi Hyuga, Fumiro Aburame, and Orochimaru each spoke their thoughts one after another.

They had all judged the Rasengan internally—it was undoubtedly an A-rank Ultimate Art.

Given that Minato had invented such a technique before even turning eleven, the only word they could think of to describe him was—"monster."

"Just how much more embarrassed do you intend to make us feel?"

Tsunade gave a bitter smile and said, "That guy Nawaki actually wanted to match you? Looking at it now, it's nothing more than humiliating himself..."

At Minato's age, becoming a Tokubetsu Jonin, developing A-rank jutsu, and planning battle strategies—any one of these accomplishments would be remarkable for someone his age. All of these achievements have come together in one person.

There's only one expression that fits.

Unprecedented.

Minato gave a sheepish chuckle.

"So which S-rank jutsu do you plan to develop?"

Tsunade asked him. At this point, she thought, the only thing left that would surprise her was if this boy surpassed Hanzo.

Because this guy was just a freak of nature who defied logic...
