After leaving the so-called Fire Flood Saint's tomb, Xiao Yan immediately slipped into a small space he had temporarily opened. As he sorted through the harvest of this trip, even he couldn't suppress the grin spreading across his face. Those hundreds of storage rings alone were an enormous fortune, filled with countless rare treasures. Not to mention the rings from the Yao Clan members—those alone were enough for him to restart his alchemy endeavors.
But the most important gains were undoubtedly the Heavenly Flames he had forcefully extracted. Though he already possessed ten different flames, in reality, aside from Bone Spirit Cold Flame, none of the others could compare to the five he had just seized. Even the Bone Spirit Cold Flame was a gift from Yao Lao, while the ancient clans had inherited those top-ranked flames far more easily—something anyone would envy.
But now, those flames belonged to him.
Of course, each of the flames contained their respective clan's inheritance imprint. Under normal circumstances, anyone not of their bloodline would be unable to refine them. However, Xiao Yan wouldn't have dared make a move if he didn't already have a plan to resolve that issue.
Still, this wasn't the time to deal with it. In just half a month, the Pill Tower appointment Yao Lao mentioned would arrive, and that was far too short a time to erase the imprints or fully refine the flames. So for now, Xiao Yan decided to store the Heavenly Flames inside Xiao Yao's body.
Doing so served two purposes: first, it isolated the flames from the detection of the ancient clans; second, it allowed Xiao Yao to assist in erasing the bloodline imprints within them, laying the groundwork for future refinement. Xiao Yao was more than willing to help—after all, the more flames Xiao Yan devoured, the stronger she became.
After depositing the flames into Xiao Yao's body, Xiao Yan slowly opened his hand, releasing strands of blood-colored light from his palm. These were the bloodline essences he had extracted from the ancient clans using Black Dragon Devours Spirit Hand.
That technique originated from a strange race known as the Devouring Spirit Clan. They had the ability to devour the bloodlines of other races and convert them for personal use. Xiao Yan's Black Dragon Devours Spirit Hand shared a similar trait. The harvested bloodlines could be used in two ways: one, to temporarily gain that race's abilities; two, to revive and enhance his own bloodline.
Xiao Yan naturally had no interest in other clans' bloodlines. His own Xiao Clan had once been a Dou Di clan. The only reason it had declined was due to the loss of its bloodline power. Now, with the unique power of his technique, he could use these foreign bloodlines to reignite the Xiao Clan's lineage!
The strength of the reawakened bloodline depended on the quality of the ones used to stimulate it—and fortunately, the essences Xiao Yan had collected were of exceptional quality. Except for Yao Tian's portion, which he saved, he merged nearly all of the elite bloodlines directly into his body. The elders' essences were kept in reserve—they weren't as potent and might serve other uses.
As the bloodline energies were absorbed into his body to awaken the dormant Xiao Clan bloodline, the phantoms of the four fierce beasts within him let out earth-shaking roars. Streams of dark-red energy began pouring from them and merging into Xiao Yan's form.
Sensing the changes in his body, Xiao Yan frowned slightly. He realized the energy from the four spirits was competing with his newly reawakened bloodline for dominance over his body. As a result, the Xiao Clan's bloodline couldn't fully circulate, preventing complete activation of the Dou Di bloodline.
"Looks like I'll have to gamble a little." Xiao Yan muttered under his breath. He could sense that the energy from the four spirits was, in fact, a type of bloodline power—not inferior in quality to his Dou Di bloodline. It would be a waste to expel them, so he instead began channeling his soul power, attempting to fuse the dark-red current with his own bloodline.
Bloodline fusion sounded simple, but in practice, it was incredibly dangerous. One misstep could seriously damage his body. But Xiao Yan wasn't someone who hesitated. If he dared to casually fuse Heavenly Flames, why would he balk at merging bloodlines? Without delay, he began the process.
It took five whole days to complete. The dark-red energy slowly fused with the newly reawakened bloodline and eventually settled into his heart. As a faint sound echoed within him, a wave of ancient and majestic aura spread outward from his body.
"Three Profound Changes of Heavenly Flame!"
As the new bloodline took form, Xiao Yan swiftly formed a hand seal. A dazzling dark-red rune instantly appeared on his forehead—that was the Xiao Clan's ancestral mark. The moment it formed, Xiao Yan's aura surged explosively, climbing to a terrifying level in mere seconds.
Of course, this wasn't a permanent increase in strength, but a temporary boost from activating a secret technique. However, unlike before, this time he wouldn't suffer from a weakening backlash once the effect wore off—and the amplification was even more intense than before.
Xiao Yan had long since cultivated the complete version of Three Profound Changes of Heavenly Flame to its peak. He was intimately familiar with how to form the clan mark. The only thing he had lacked was bloodline power. Now, thanks to the bloodline essences he had devoured with Black Dragon Devours Spirit Hand, he had finally completed the last piece of the puzzle.
Recalling the time he spent in his past life trying to condense the mark, Xiao Yan couldn't help but sigh. If he hadn't trained so thoroughly back then, he wouldn't have been able to form the mark so smoothly now.
By his estimation, using the clan mark pushed his strength to the level of a peak six or seven-turn Dou Zun. That level of amplification was astonishing—but it made sense. After all, the effect of both the Three Profound Changes of Heavenly Flame and the clan mark depended on the quality of one's flames.
And in terms of flame quality, Xiao Yan had ten Heavenly Flames—there was nothing to worry about.
As for the bloodline grade… the Xiao Clan's reawakened bloodline, restored using elite ancient clan essences, had already reached divine-grade. And with the addition of the bloodline from the Four Fiends, even divine-grade couldn't compare.
Furthermore, Xiao Yan's mind began to stir with mysterious knowledge. It was the inheritance left within the bloodline by the Four Fiends—meaning he now had access to several terrifying new techniques.
