Chapter 173 - Chapter 173: Starfall Pavilion

After pacifying Xiao Cai, Xiao Yan didn't linger. He took Xiao Yixian and the others and stepped into the spatial wormhole, leaving Xiao Zhan and the rest of the Xiao Family temporarily at Xiao Sect. After all, he didn't yet possess specialized spatial ships, and with the current strength of Xiao Zhan's group, it wasn't realistic to expect them to pass safely through such a spatial channel.

Though with his strength Xiao Yan could certainly protect them through the crossing, it would be quite troublesome—especially since he also needed to shield Xiao Yixian and the others. There was no real urgency, so his plan was to buy a few high-grade spatial ships after reaching the Central Plains, then send a team back to escort the rest of the Xiao Family safely.

For most of the girls accompanying him, this was their first time inside a spatial passage, and they were filled with curiosity at the surroundings. Xiao Yan, however, was different. In his past life, he had used these kinds of passages often and even survived several spatial storms. To him, this realm was already familiar territory.

Without wasting time, he spread out his soul power to protect the girls, leading them rapidly toward the tunnel's end. As a precaution, he placed a soul imprint on each of them, ensuring they wouldn't get separated if any unexpected events occurred.

Thanks to his full-speed flight, it took only about ten days to reach the other side. With the recovery speed granted by a Heaven-tier technique, he hadn't expended much energy. When they finally passed through the silver vortex at the tunnel's end, a new world unfolded before their eyes.

"So this is the force Teacher Yao created… quite the strange place." Xiao Yan looked around with some surprise. With his keen perception, he could tell they were in an independent spatial domain. However, unlike the small temporary dimensions he had previously created, this one was massive—large enough to rival a full-scale city. It might not match the scale of the ancient clans' realms, but it was impressive nonetheless.

This space didn't seem to be artificially created. It likely formed naturally due to certain terrain features. What caught Xiao Yan's attention most was the trace of a familiar aura—one that resembled his Heavy Xuan Ruler. It was possible that ruler had been forged from materials found here.

"You little brat, you finally arrived." Not long after they emerged, an aged figure appeared before them. It was Yao Lao, the one who had given Xiao Yan the spatial scroll. Beside him stood another elderly man, likely the one Yao Lao had referred to as his old friend—Venerable Feng.

"Teacher." Xiao Yan stepped forward and gave a respectful bow.

"This is the disciple you picked up out there?" Venerable Feng looked at Xiao Yan and couldn't hide the shock on his face. He could immediately sense that Xiao Yan's aura far exceeded his own. Yet, the boy still appeared to be a youth! Such monstrous talent was simply terrifying.

"Five-star Dou Zun… not bad at all." Even Yao Lao was a bit surprised. He had expected that once Xiao Yan refined the Bone Spirit Cold Flame, he would reach Dou Zun, but to progress this far was unexpected. Then again, considering Xiao Yan's five-year rise from Dou Zhe to Dou Zong, this might not be so shocking.

"I'm starting to get jealous, old man. How about you let me take him as my disciple instead? Name your terms." Venerable Feng joked. When Yao Lao first mentioned accepting another student after the fiasco with Han Feng, Venerable Feng had objected. Who knew if the new one would be another ungrateful snake? But now, it was clear this boy far surpassed Han Feng in every way.

"Keep dreaming," Yao Lao chuckled, then glanced at the girls beside Xiao Yan. "And these young ladies are…?"

"Oh, teacher, they are…" Xiao Yan briefly introduced Xiao Yixian and the others. After listening, both Yao Lao and Venerable Feng couldn't help but click their tongues in amazement. This kid didn't just have terrifying talent—every one of his women was a rare and peerless figure: the Woeful Poison Body, the Green Lotus Three-Flower Pupils, the Seven-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python… each one would cause a stir in the outside world, and yet they all happened to fall into this kid's lap.

Yao Lao hadn't forgotten that this brat even had a childhood sweetheart of ancient clan bloodline—high status and deep affection for Xiao Yan. Though it would be difficult for them to truly be together, Yao Lao believed that with Xiao Yan's talent, gaining the acceptance of that clan was only a matter of time.

"By the way, Teacher, there's something else I need your help with." After organizing his thoughts, Xiao Yan told Yao Lao about relocating the Xiao Family to Starfall Pavilion.

"That's no problem at all. I'll have someone take care of it shortly," Yao Lao replied with a smile. He cherished Xiao Yan deeply, and a request like this was hardly difficult. In fact, Yao Lao had only returned to manage this force so that Xiao Yan could focus on his path without worries. Otherwise, he'd have never bothered managing a sect himself.

"With a monster like your disciple, we'd have to try hard just to lose at this Four Pavilion Gathering," Venerable Feng laughed, suddenly remembering something.

"Four Pavilion Gathering? What's that?" Zi Yan asked curiously.

"Hehe, our faction is called Starfall Pavilion. In the Central Plains, we're relatively well-known. Along with three other powers, we form the Four Pavilions. The Four Pavilion Gathering is a competition between us—our younger generation members compete against each other," Venerable Feng explained.

"Only members of the Four Pavilions can join?"

"Of course not. The Four Pavilion Gathering isn't exclusive. Young talents from other parts of the Central Plains often come to observe or challenge. Those who stand out might even be recruited." Yao Lao patiently explained.

"By age, Xiao Yan definitely qualifies as part of the younger generation. But with his current strength, it's almost bullying. In previous years, the strongest contenders were just Dou Huangs. For him to join now… it's not really fair to the others," Yao Lao added with a smile.

Venerable Feng laughed heartily. With Xiao Yan's current cultivation level, even the Pavilion Masters of the other three sects couldn't compare. As for combat ability—anyone praised so highly by Yao Lao would surely shine in battle. If Xiao Yan chose to enter the Four Pavilion Gathering, he'd undoubtedly shock the entire stage.
