Chapter 7 - Chapter seven:Series in the Shadows

POV: Seris Vaelen (3rd person limited)

---

> "You cannot kill what was born in silence.

And you cannot cage what was never yours."

— Seris of the Hollow Flame

---

[Scene: Unknown Location – The Wastes Beyond Lunaris]

The moonlight didn't reach here.

Even the stars knew better than to shine in the Hollow Lands.

Seris stood barefoot in the ash, her silver gown shredded, her crown melted at the edges from the child's outburst. Her breath steamed in the air — not from cold, but from rage.

The pulse of the Eclipse Heir still rang in her ears.

> He awoke… And he chose Elara.

Seris clenched her fists.

"So the little queen thinks she's won."

Behind her, dark silhouettes emerged — hooded figures in tattered cloaks, whispering in ancient tongues. They bowed low before her, their leader speaking:

> "Mistress… the Crimson Vault is open. The Ebon Mirror awaits your command."

Seris raised her head.

"Then it's time I reminded the cosmos… that not all prophecy is written in starlight."

---

[Scene: The Ebon Mirror – Forbidden Magic]

The Ebon Mirror wasn't glass — it was liquid shadow, sealed in the Vault of the Forgotten Kings. Only those with cursed blood could summon it.

Seris was once royal. Now she was something worse — something more powerful.

She stepped forward, slicing her palm.

Dark blood hit the mirror. It shivered, then opened like an eye.

"Show me," she whispered.

In its depths, she saw Kael and Elara — reunited. Holding her son. The boy radiated uncontrollable power, weaving between innocence and annihilation.

> He was supposed to be mine.

---

[Scene: Seris's Past Revealed]

The mirror peeled deeper into memory, showing truths few knew.

Long before Elara came to Lunaris, Seris had made a pact with the stars. She was meant to bear the Eclipse Heir — the child of duality. The chosen.

But Kael never loved her.

He chose the girl from Earth. He chose Elara.

Seris' child, never born, had been sacrificed in secret… by the Council themselves, to prevent a dark future. They told her it was for balance.

They lied.

And in that moment, before the mirror, Seris swore:

> "If I can't be the mother of destiny…

Then I will become its end."

---

[Scene: The Shadow Crown]

She stepped into the Mirror's reflection.

On the other side: an ancient throne made of lunar bone and scorched petals.

As she sat, her eyes turned black-gold, and her voice echoed across all dimensions.

> "I, Seris Vaelen, claim the Hollow Throne.

Let the Outcast Kingdom rise."

The mirror exploded.

And far away… Auren awoke screaming.

---

[Scene Shift: Lunar Palace – The Child's Distress]

Kael rushed to his side. "Auren?! What did you see?"

Auren trembled, hands glowing white-hot. Elara tried to hold him, but static pushed her back.

"I saw her," he whispered. "The one who walks without moonlight."

"Seris," Kael said grimly. "She's opened the Ebon Mirror."

Elara's face turned cold. "Then war is closer than we thought."

---

[Scene: Council Emergency Meeting – Earthbound Tension]

The next day, an urgent assembly of both Earthbound and Lunar leaders was called.

Laziel arrived first, his smile gone.

"I warned you. If Seris reclaims the Hollow Throne, she can rewrite the prophecy."

"She doesn't want to rewrite it," Kael said. "She wants to burn it."

Elder Nythra spoke, her voice hesitant. "What of the Eclipse Heir?"

Auren sat quietly, sketching moons on a piece of parchment. But when asked about Seris, he looked up and said:

> "She's trying to steal the part of me that feels.

If she wins… there will be no love left in the stars."

---

[Scene: Seris's Army Awakens]

Back in the Hollow Wastes, Seris stood on a cliff as the earth cracked open.

Creatures long buried began to rise.

> Shadow-bound warriors.

Forgotten spirits.

The Veilwalkers.

At her side, an armored figure knelt — faceless, powerful.

"Your army, my queen," it rasped. "What shall we conquer first?"

Seris looked toward the twin moons.

"Love," she said.

---

[Scene: Final Sequence – The Blood Oath]

As darkness spread from the Hollow Lands, the moon above Lunaris turned crimson — an omen unseen in a thousand years.

Elara held Auren tight. Kael drew his blade once more.

And in the skies, stars began to fall — not in beauty, but in warning.

Because Seris was no longer seeking power.

She was seeking vengeance.
