SAI SHINU
Where… am I? What happened?
"Ahhh… ahhhhhhh!" I screamed, my voice echoing across the battlefield littered with dead monsters.
Wait—where's… Sai Shinu? Gods, that feels so strange to even say aloud.
There—inside a circle of corpses, standing weakly among the chimeras he slaughtered.
"Hey! Are you okay?" I shouted, rushing to him.
"I'm fine," he whispered, but his body told another story. Wounds everywhere, his clothes soaked in blood.
"No, you're not—you're covered in scars, you're bleeding everywhere!" My voice trembled, terror seizing my chest.
"It's fine," he muttered again, barely able to stand.
"What should I do?!" I begged him.
"You can't do anything now. You've already done enough… out there on the battlefield," he said, and then—unbelievably—he smiled.
"What do you mean? I can't remember anything!" I asked, lost in confusion.
"By your skills—nothing. But… you didn't hesitate. That dagger synchronized with you. You killed almost half the beasts with a single blow. To do something like that… the dagger drained all the energy from your body. That's why you collapsed."
"I… did all of that?" I whispered in disbelief.
"Yes. But here's what makes no sense… the dagger is only supposed to synchronize with its owner," he said, his dark eyes narrowing.
"Yeah… about that," I muttered nervously.
His gaze sharpened. "What do you know? Tell me!"
I swallowed hard. "Not much… but maybe… it's because I have the same identity as you?"
"What? How is that even possible?" he asked, his hand suddenly reaching for his dagger.
Before I could stop him, he raised the blade—aiming it at his own chest.
"No—wait! Stop!" I screamed.
But it was too late. His hand didn't obey him. His body moved against his will.
The dagger pierced his heart.
"NOOO! Why—why would you do this?!" I cried, dropping to my knees, cradling his body in my arms.
His lips quivered, blood seeping out with every word. "I… didn't want to… Something… with the power of… a deity… forced me to… do this… to myself…"
"No—don't speak, please, just hold on—"
"Do me… one favor… use my daggers… for the great—" His voice broke. His chest shuddered. And then… silence.
His last words dissolved into the void.
"I will… I swear I will," I said, my voice trembling coldly, even as tears poured down my face.
I took his daggers, gripping them tightly, sealing the weight of his death into my soul.
"I'll find you… whoever the hell you are," I screamed into the void, rage and grief colliding in my chest. "And I'll make you pay for this!"
My strength failed me. The world spun, and darkness claimed me once more.
YURI KOI
Where… am I?
Soft sheets. A bed. And beside me—someone else.
Another body. Breathing. Sleeping.
I didn't know this place. I didn't know this person.
Panic tightened in my throat. Should I run? Or… should I wake him?
How the hell did I even end up here?
"Uh… excuse me, sir? Are you awake?" I asked cautiously.
The man stirred, then murmured, "Ahhh… sir? What are you talking about, my love?"
My heart froze.
"Who… who are you?" I whispered.
He turned his eyes to mine, confused. "What do you mean, who am I, babe? I'm Sai Shinu—your boyfriend."
His stare cut straight through me. "Are you okay, babe? You're acting strange."
"Ahh—y-yes… I just have a headache, that's all," I stammered, embarrassed and terrified all at once.
Inside, my mind screamed.
"What the hell is happening to me? Where am I?!"
