Clementine:
Ian knelt beside her while Troy crouched in front of her.
Together, they took her hands.
She looked at them in surprise.
"Your son was our friend's friend," Ian began, gently patting the back of her hand.
"And we're all like brothers," Troy continued, picking up where Ian left off.
"So that makes us your sons too. You can count on us. I know it won't ever be the same, but you can talk to us whenever you need to," Ian said softly.
The woman broke down crying.
It felt like an acknowledgment that too much time had already passed.
There was little hope left that Rocco was still alive.
"You just need to know, they didn't turn him into a monster. He passed away—in his sleep," Troy's words made my heart skip a beat.
He had almost certainly become another victim.
I couldn't help remembering the way Yorick had reacted when he heard Rocco's name.
He had tried to open the window, almost as though he had been certain he would find Rocco somewhere in the North.
