Chapter 20 - He didn't even move!

"Let's see how strong you really are, Allen," Jarvis said calmly.

"You'll see, you bum," Allen retorted as he unsheathed his sword.

Jarvis quickly revealed the Aqualith Nexus he had hidden and activated a level-5 mastery: [Waterfall].

The water moved too fast for the human eye to track, yet Allen simply stood in front of it, not even fazed by the attack.

Jarvis was shocked but continued using stronger level-5 mastery spells. Allen smirked and launched a simple slash at Jarvis, completely cutting him in half.

But Jarvis's body dissolved into a puddle it had only been a clone. The real Jarvis appeared behind Allen and struck, but missed.

"I have Soulbound Instinct of Dodging. It makes me automatically dodge every sneak attack," Allen proclaimed.

"You already know what Soulbound Instincts are? That's… kinda impressive," Jarvis muttered.

Then Allen calmly sliced Jarivs in half... but of course since they were fighting on a [Support Platform] Jarvis was healed.

Now, what are Soulbound Instincts? These are passive abilities that can be obtained through a specific stone—one that Cinister currently possesses.

"I can't believe Jarvis lost so easily," Cinister exclaimed.

"It was to be expected. I mean, it is Allen," Ragna said.

"Shut it," Cinister muttered.

"Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed?" Alya asked as she suddenly appeared behind them.

"Jeez, can you stop doing that?" Cinister asked.

"My bad. Let's just watch the rest of the fights!" Alya said.

Team A beat Team C.Team F beat Team B.Team H beat Team Y.And finally, Team R beat Team K.

"Well, now let's check the top five spots."

Number 1 – ALLEN TOUTDER

"No surprise there, I guess," Alya said calmly.

"Yeah, but even though I'm next… I feel like I lost," Cinister muttered.

Number 2 – Cinister Brimstone

"Look, dude, you're second," Ragna pointed out.

"Yeah, but I don't like it. I won't settle unless I'm number one," Cinister said.

"So greedy," Ragna replied.

Number 3 – Ragna Kurozane

"Let's gooooo!" Ragna jumped with happiness.

Number 4 – Duvant Jackson

Number 5 – Vitale Elativ

"So uncreative for a name," Michael said calmly.

"Yeah, okay, Mr. Birdman," Ragna teased.

"Whose side are you on, moron?" Michael shot back.

"Now for the 3 people that will be eliminated are" Jarvis said

Eliminated - George, Brayden and LLoyd.

"There's no way…" our whole team said in unison.

"Tell me this is a lie!" Cinister screamed.

"Nope, it's not. They just aren't qualified to continue, so they must leave the tower," Jarvis said.

"NO! I don't approve!" Cinister shouted.

"Well, too bad. Unless you want to join them, I suggest you shut up," Jarvis replied.

Cinister looked down.

"Look, it's fine. I don't really mind. It was fun, Cinister… Ragna," George said calmly.

"Yeah, it's our fault. We didn't try our hardest, so it's fine," Brayden added.

"Fine… just for my sake, please get back safe," Ragna said quietly.

"For sure," Brayden and George said together.

BOOM

Brayden, George, and Lloyd were killed instantly by an explosion.

All of the contestants froze in shock.

"What the…" Cinister whispered, trembling.

"What just happened!" Ragna yelled loudly

"It punishment from the Tower I guess they just didn't quailfy" Jarvis said

"Qualify!? Qualify for what exactly!" Cinister asked

"Well, I forgot to mention that every Tower is controlled by someone. We don't know their names, so we just refer to them as the Seven Deadly Sins."

In Europe – GreedIn Africa – WrathIn Asia – PrideIn North America – EnvyIn South America – SlothIn Australia – GluttonyIn Antarctica – Lust

"And Greed is known for killing people who aren't hardworking," Jarvis said.

"Then shouldn't that be Wrath?" Vitale asked.

"Nah. Wrath is way more brutal. Only five people have climbed the Tower in Africa, while about sixty thousand have in Europe," Jarvis replied.

While Vitale was asking questions, Cinister and Ragna were still shaken by their friends' deaths.

Cinister picked up George's scarf, while Ragna took Brayden's headband.

"We will kill Greed," Cinister and Ragna said in unison.

Alya, who had passed out, finally woke up.

"Guys… I think we should rest back up on Floor 7," Alya said.

"Yeah, good idea," Michael chimed in.

"Wait, Cinister—you can use your stone now," Jarvis said.

"I don't care. I just wanna go home," Cinister muttered.

Jarvis grabbed Cinister's head and yelled, "Look here! If that's how you're gonna be, you will never climb the tower. So get your sh*t together, got it!?"

"Yeah… just let go," Cinister said quietly.

Cinister approached the machine, inserted the stone, and obtained Soulbound Instinct of Luck.

"That sounds kinda useful," Cinister said.

"What did you get?" Jarvis asked.

"I got the one for magical buff," Cinister lied.

"Okay… and everyone, you're dismissed. When you're ready, you can go to Floor 11—but be warned, the difficulty increases."

Everyone went their separate ways while the Fangra returned to the 7th floor.Their drive had been shattered.

"So… how are you feeling?" the Alien Queen asked Cinister and Ragna.

"Like sh*t," Ragna said.

"Yeah… same," Cinister muttered.

"Come on, you do realize that both of them would want you to continue," the Alien Queen said gently.

"No you don't get it, and you never will. Because you're not them, and you'll never be. You can't put words in their mouths!" Cinister shouted, shaking.

"…Maybe being a therapist wasn't a great idea," the Alien Queen whispered.

"Forget it. I'm going to train."Cinister stormed off.

"So… do you wanna talk?" the Alien Queen asked Ragna.

"Sure," Ragna replied.

One month later

Ragna had been recovering mentally, while Cinister trained himself stupidly hard—so much that scars were forming across his hands.

"You need to stop," Alya said to Cinister.

"No. Until I reach Allen's level, I'll never be happy," Cinister said.

"Please… just rest for once," Alya begged.

"No, I won't. I nee-"Cinister was cut off as Ragna knocked him out with a clean strike.

"Thanks, Ragna… you're a lifesaver," Alya sighed.

They put Cinister to sleep but then two familiar faces come in.
