My eyes widened before I even realized it. The man standing a few steps away from me wasn't just anyone. No, my chest tightened the moment recognition slammed into me like a heavy blow.
That face…sharp, older, yet frighteningly and familiar…belonged to the same little boy I had seen years ago. The one who had killed the pack doctor with nothing but a single touch.
I could never forget that day. I had been so small and new and fluffy had run out of the pack hospital heading to the pack house and that was when everything happened in his room, I couldn't do a thing but to just scream and cry.
The boy's hand brushed against the doctor, and just like that, life drained from her. No one had explained it to me then, but the horror had planted itself deep into my memory.
And now… here he was.
