Chapter 22 - Cardinal of the Universe Grid

When I felt a hand on my head ruffling my hair, I felt good.It was intimate and loving ruffling. Hmm.

I looked back.

Who was it?

Eh… I am speechless.It is me.

Twenty years old.But with black and golden hair, black robe with white ribbon, and eyes with no pupils—but only grids like Go board game from Earth.

I saw inside the eyes, zooming in and in.And the only thing I saw were recursive fractal folding and spiral grids.I could zoom in enough to see two-dimensional beings and also one-dimensional point, but still the things I saw from his eyes were same.

I then looked at his face.It has a calm smile, and I can feel care and love oozing out of him.

"You are satisfied now, child," he said with soft voice.

I looked at him with my usual cute smile, but this time a genuine one, and said,"Yes, I am satisfied. But I am not a child."

He smirked and said,"You are four days old mentally, if we don't count past life… and nine years old physically," he said calmly again.

"I know. And why not introduce yourself? Ohh—also what's your age?" I said with smirk and my hands on his leg.

He was still ruffling my hair and patting my head.

He said calmly,"I am Cardinal of Universe Grid, and my name is Alephless."

Oh, I liked his name. And his concept should be like my Patterns concept.

I tested his concept and name on my tongue."Cardinal of Universe Grid and Alephless," I said and looked at him with hungry eyes.

My small hands tightened on his leg.I want to know about him more.

He looked at me and said,"I know you have many questions.Let me answer one by one," he said calmly, and created a cube throne like I have—but completely refined.

He sat on it, and I jumped in his lap and sat down facing him.

He smiled.

I think he already knows that I wanted to sit on his lap.

"I know ourselves more than you," he said with a smirk.

I nodded.

Then he said,"I came inside your consciousness from outside—not our super-conscious."

"Wait—" I said.

He put a finger on my mouth, shutting me down.

Ughh, I wanna bite his finger.

Next, he said calmly,"Our all selves have formed a super-conscious unknowingly. And we are able to form it because the strongest of us three has little will for it."

"Ohh," I said, "Does that mean you are an avatar inside my consciousness?"

He shook his head and said,"No. I am me, fully inside your consciousness, to tell you there are beasts outside the time paradoxes that feed on consciousness."

"What strange and good world," I said.

He smiled.

"For my age… it should be 45,471 years. And where I come from is another Absolute Cardinal."

I was about to ask what it was, but he spoke again calmly,"All immeasurable probabilities are inside one stacked layers. There are immeasurable layers stacking infinitely. Then comes Absolute Cardinal: a five by five meter room containing all of them. This is where I came from."

"Ugh," I showed frustration.

"What's wrong with world?"

"Nothing," he said calmly,"As we always saw, these worlds are imperfect—and will be."

"Hmm. I know. I know," I said.

Then I looked at him with cheeky and mischievous smile."You are so calm that you look like a living Dao. And you are older than me, so I will call you Dao Daddy."

He smiled and didn't say.

"I know that it is already coming.I know ourselves more than you.And let me tell you a new things more."
