Suddenly, a loud whoosh filled the air. Something swooped down from above. It was Father Nicodemus. His large black wings sliced through the wind. With one strong flap, he shot upward again, dodging a fireball.
His wings glowed faintly at the edges, sharp as blades. He folded them forward and dove again. The cutting edges of his wings sliced across the strongest pyrokinetic's arms, instantly disabling her fire attacks. "Sunshine, get behind me." Nicodemus shouted as he took the sky again.
A lightning bolt shot toward him, but he twisted midair, letting it pass. His wings cut the air with dangerous speed. He swooped down and kicked the geokinetic in the chest, sending him flying into a broken wall.
Derone only raised an eyebrow. "Interesting pet you have there," he said to Sunshine.
Sunshine didn't answer him; she was finally joining the fight. Her moves were simple but deadly: freeze and shatter. Instant death.
Derone's eyes widened. His team was dwindling...and fast.
