The Assassin Brotherhood.
Today was Xu Wenwu's induction into the Brotherhood.
The grand hall of the headquarters opened once more. The last times it had been opened were for the ceremonies welcoming the Lycans and the Vampires. Now, it was for Xu Wenwu. Not even John Wick or Natasha's family had received such a formal rite.
Inside the hall, all the high-ranking members of the Brotherhood gathered. At the main seat sat Smith Dole, with the elders of the Brotherhood on either side—Cross, the Gunsmith, Mr. X, and others.
Wesley, Selina, Michael, Alexei, Eddie Brock, and others stood below as witnesses.
For Xu Wenwu's induction, not only his family was present. Bulma, Puar, Korin, and even the World Martial Arts Tournament announcer attended.
The sight of talking animals like Puar and Korin intrigued Wenwu's family. Ying Li was the only one among them who had seen such beings before, back in Ta Lo Village.
The staff had briefed Xu Wenwu thoroughly about the Brotherhood's knowledge and ideals. He knew the ceremony's process well, and he had memorized their creed.
On stage, Wenwu recited solemnly:
"Nothing is true, everything is permitted. We walk in darkness to serve the light. I pledge to uphold the Brotherhood's creed and become a protector of my people's civilization."
Fox stepped forward with a scroll of parchment, her voice echoing:
"We are the architects of our own actions. We bear their consequences—whether glory or tragedy. When mankind blindly follows so-called truth, remember: there is no absolute truth. When mankind is bound by law or morality, remember: every chain can be broken. We serve the light by working in the shadows. We are Assassins. Nothing is true. Everything is permitted."
Wenwu placed his hand on his chest and declared:
"I, Xu Wenwu, before all present, swear to join the Brotherhood. I shall live out the rest of my days guided by this creed."
He signed his name on the scroll, pricked his finger, and pressed a bloody handprint beside it.
Fox handed the sealed oath to Smith Dole.
Holding the parchment that symbolized loyalty, Smith raised his gaze to Wenwu.
"From this day forward, Xu Wenwu is one of us. He shall be stationed at New York headquarters."
The hall erupted with applause.
The vow complete, Smith ordered the banquet to begin. Servants carried trays of fine food and wine into the chamber.
This was honor, pure and undeniable. Smith had given Wenwu a stage before all the elders, a public welcome that no ordinary recruit could dream of. Wenwu himself felt deep respect and gratitude for such recognition.

During the feast, Eddie Brock reported his progress to Smith. Over the past week, he had not only carried out missions but also brought Selina and Wesley into his "Seven" project.
"Boss," Eddie said, "Selina and Wesley agreed. I'm also considering Michael and Alexei for the team."
John Wick, however, had declined. He preferred to remain Smith's driver, not a superhero.
Eddie hadn't pressed him. Pulling away the Boss's driver would have been foolish. He had extended the invitation merely to show courtesy—since he had asked the others, it would have been rude not to.
Smith thought for a moment, then nodded.
"No problem. If they agree, I approve. And Wick?"
"Boss," Eddie explained, "he said he prefers being your driver over playing superhero."
Smith smiled faintly. Wick's loyalty was unquestioned.
"Good. Finalize the internal roster. Once ready, begin global selection. Let the media prepare the ground—push the concept of the Seven, heat up the Black Robes."
"Yes, Boss," Eddie said. "That's my priority now."
Smith patted his shoulder.
"I like your vision, Eddie. Do it well. But give careful thought to the captain's role. The leader is the soul of the team."
"I understand," Eddie nodded. He knew the captain had to be the strongest presence.
"Once the team is set," he promised, "I'll report the roster to you."
Smith nodded. Just then, Xu Wenwu and Ying Li approached, wine cups in hand.
"Leader," Wenwu said gravely, "thank you for giving me the chance to bring back my wife. Ying Li and I owe you everything. We drink to you."
The couple drained their cups together.
Smith lifted his own glass and finished it in one motion.
Wenwu's face shone with gratitude. He hesitated, then spoke again:
"Leader, now that Ying Li has returned, she wishes to visit her homeland—Ta Lo Village. I plan to escort her there and return soon after. I ask for your permission."
