The nine flying rings surged toward Tina. Her shield vanished in a shimmer of light, and she gripped her spear with both hands. The weapon spun and blurred, thrusting, striking, sweeping—every movement deflecting another ring.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Each collision produced a sonic boom so loud that many in the stands covered their ears. Capsule Corp's white robots hurried forward, politely handing out special earplugs to the crowd.
Though Tina had repelled every ring, she didn't relax for a moment.
Xu Wenwu raised both arms, and the ten rings circled back, then launched again from every direction at once.
Clang! Clang!
Tina's spear moved like a storm, but the rings were fast, relentless. From all angles they pressed in. One slipped through her guard, smashing into her abdomen and hurling her across the arena.
With quick reflexes, Tina stabbed her spear into the alloy floor, piercing it deep to halt her flight.
The rings flew back into Wenwu's arms.
Tina looked at him and grinned.
"Now that's more like it."
Her spear dissolved. She sprinted forward, leaping high. With both hands she conjured a warhammer and smashed one incoming ring away, then lashed out with a vicious kick.
Boom!
The strike sent Wenwu flying across half the arena, even with his rings shielding him.
He steadied himself, but Tina was already charging again. Wenwu thrust both fists forward, hurling his rings in a storm. Tina conjured a giant shield, blocking the barrage, then landed and transformed the shield into twin swords. She hacked downward.
The rings linked into a barrier, holding against the blades. But Tina's weapons shifted again, swelling into a giant axe that came crashing down.
Every strike of hers was wild, immense, unyielding. Her light-forged weapons morphed constantly—sword to axe, spear to hammer, short reach to long reach. Wenwu was forced to defend with everything he had.
But slowly, he adapted. His eyes sharpened.
He swung his arm, five rings snapping together like a blazing whip. It cracked against Tina's shield.
Boom!
The shield shattered into sparks.
He swung again. Tina conjured a larger, two-handed shield—
Crack!
It too burst apart.
A single ring shot toward her face.
Tina manifested a staff, batting it away—only for Wenwu to smirk. The ring whipped back at double speed.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The two exchanged blow after blow. Tina knocked back each ring, but Wenwu closed the distance. When she swung her staff, he slipped aside and seized its center.
She pulled, but it held fast. The weapon dissolved, ready to morph into an axe—yet at that moment, five rings blasted from his arm, hammering her midsection.
Boom!
The impact ripped her through the air at supersonic speed, sonic booms cracking behind her. In a flash, Tina was hurled clear of the arena, vanishing into the horizon.
Wenwu raised his hand. The five rings streaked back into place, gleaming once more on his arm.
In the stands, Makkari darted out in a golden blur, catching Tina and returning her instantly to the Eternals' section.
Ajak stepped forward, summoning divine light. In moments, Tina's wounds were healed. To the crowd, it all happened faster than they could comprehend—they hadn't even realized Tina was gone before she was already restored.
Smith Dole appeared on the stage, raising Wenwu's hand.
"The winner—Xu Wenwu!"
The crowd froze, then erupted into wild applause. The clash had been breathtaking—massive attacks, constant transformations, devastating blows. The duel had left everyone spellbound.
Wenwu's eyes shifted to Tina in the stands. He had seen that streak of golden light. Each Eternal had a different gift? That speed—he couldn't keep up. And healing on top of it? Perhaps even tanks among them? Thousands of years on this Earth, and he still didn't understand them. Maybe they were like the hidden village of Ta Lo, withdrawn from the world.
As Wenwu stepped down, his children, Xialing and Shang-Chi, stared in awe. Their father's power was overwhelming. But the thought that their mother had once defeated him—that she had given up the power of the dragon for him—made them wonder.
What exactly was the Dragon's power? What kind of strength did their mother truly have? And what of Ta Lo?
Questions stirred in their hearts.
On stage, Eddie Brock raised his voice.
"Thank you to our four contestants for another spectacular round! Current standings: Xu Wenwu holds three Dragon Balls, Tina holds one, Tony Stark holds two, and Thor holds one."
"Now, the fourth round of the Dragon Ball Contest begins! Let's see who will face whom!"
The portraits spun rapidly on the giant screen before freezing.
Xu Wenwu vs Thor Odinson.
Tony Stark vs Tina.
