“You’ve arrived, Duchess. You appear quite pale…”
“I don’t have time, Nancy.”
Petra briskly greeted the middle-aged attendant who welcomed her, shaking her hand and cutting her off mid-sentence. Nancy, sensing the urgency in Petra’s demeanor, silently moved to her side, awaiting orders.
“I need to relocate Anton,” Petra whispered softly into Nancy’s ear, causing the attendant’s eyes to open wide.
It had been a long time since Nancy had received such a directive. Despite the numerous questions swirling in her mind, she understood the gravity of the situation and asked only the most important question. Given her lengthy experience with Petra, she knew how her mistress was feeling.
“…When should I arrange the move?”
“Dispatch a messenger today, and ensure utmost secrecy in conveying my orders,” Petra whispered again, handing a slip of paper to Nancy.
