A bouquet of perfect pink roses was presented to Adrianne, and as if they were carefully chosen, each flower was flawless.
“…Are these for me?” she asked, somewhat taken aback.
When Nox had mentioned wanting to meet for a stroll in front of the palace garden to discuss something, Adrianne had assumed he had a message from Apollonia.
However, instead of a message, what awaited her was a bouquet of flowers, politely presented to her by a tall man with the sun at his back.
It was plain to see that Nox was nervous, evident from his tense demeanor and the faint tremor in his usually sharp, grey eyes.
“I thought you might like them,” Nox replied, looking almost like a bashful young boy as he averted his gaze, reminiscent of their encounter at the previous party.
“I don’t hate them…”
Adrianne accepted the roses, her words trailing off. Nox’s face clouded at her ambiguous response.
‘He’s so obvious,’ Adrianne thought to herself.
