Gareth’s yellow eyes widened, resembling his mother’s. Yet strangely, they looked cloudy and dim-witted. It was eerie, but in a different way from the frosty feeling that Petra’s eyes gave off.
“You stand before the emperor’s Palace and it was the knights who had gone to escort the Duchess here, not servants and a carriage. Do you still not understand the situation?” Adrianne spoke a barrage of words once again.
Gareth was still menacing, but she gradually calmed down.
“In a situation as dire as this, have you never contemplated the consequences of your actions, Lord Gareth?” She asked with a sneer.
As she looked up at him, she observed his face turning a shade redder.
“…Shut up.”
“Please step back.”
“I told you to shut up!” Gareth burst out.
He struck the wall above Adrianne’s head with his fist, causing her petite frame to shiver.
