“Um… Truth to be told, I think I wanted to see Lord Gareth get hit,” Adrianne confessed.
Though she had always trembled in Gareth’s presence, a faint smile now adorned her face.
“Am I mean to think so? When I saw him in pain after being slapped by that knight, it felt like some form of compensation for all my past experiences with him.”
Apollonia’s eyes widened slightly at Adrianne’s straightforward words. She knew this already, but Adrianne was far from the frail image she projected. She was clever, determined, and carried a deep anger within her.
“What’s so mean about it?” Apollonia chuckled. Adrianne was now displaying the most honesty Apollonia had ever witnessed from her. “When everything is settled, and if Gareth is still fine, feel free to give him a few more hits. Until all your bad memories fade away.”
She gently patted Adrianne’s head.
