Apollonia allowed her words to settle in silence. She didn’t perceive any wrongdoing in Uriel’s anger or coldness.
Strangely, she found a sense of contentment in knowing that he thought of killing those who could potentially harm her. She didn’t truly desire him to act on those thoughts, but the fact that he held them pleased her in a way.
What truly mattered was her ability to influence and control Uriel, and her confidence in that was unwavering.
Yet, the current situation had made it even clearer that she needed to test another skill of hers. Their recent encounter had served as a reminder of that.
“I no longer want to keep using my attendants to send away my fiancés, Uriel. I don’t have time for that anymore.”
