Chapter 364 - When the Beasts Send Their Envoys

After Benimaru and his group departed, the Monster Federation did not settle into calm.

Instead, it grew even busier.

In the central district of the City of Emiya, a luxurious inn was rising at remarkable speed. Unlike the inns built by ordinary citizens, this structure had a clear purpose.

It was a guesthouse.

One built specifically to receive the envoys of the Beast Kingdom.

After all, a guesthouse was more than a building.

It was the face of the Monster Federation.

"Report, Lord Rimuru. Lord Emiya."

Treyni's voice rang out clearly.

"We have received intelligence. The Beast Kingdom's envoy delegation has entered the Great Forest of Jura and is expected to arrive here soon."

"I understand. Thank you for informing us, Miss Treyni," Rimuru replied immediately.

The moment Treyni detected the envoys' movements, she had come without delay.

"Don't mention it," Treyni said with a gentle smile. "It's only a small matter."

...She's really beautiful.

Rimuru's thoughts surfaced naturally.

If I weren't a slime, I'd probably fall head over heels for her.

Emiya Shirou nodded subtly.

"Miss Treyni is indeed very beautiful," he agreed inwardly. "Especially when she smiles. There's a mysterious charm to it. Hard to look away."

Exactly, exactly!

The two exchanged silent agreement.

Yet neither of them dared to look directly at Treyni, who was kneeling respectfully before them.

Because-

Behind them, a gaze filled with overwhelming pressure was fixed firmly in their direction.

"I'll be counting on your help again in the future," Rimuru said quickly.

"Yes," Treyni replied. "I'll take my leave."

Leaving behind a faint smile, her figure vanished from the spot.

"Still as elusive as ever," Rimuru muttered.

"She's a spirit," Emiya Shirou said calmly. "Wouldn't it be strange if she didn't have a few tricks?"

Rimuru sighed lightly, then turned his attention back.

"It looks like the Beast Kingdom's envoys will arrive very soon."

"Probably within a few days," Emiya Shirou replied.

The two exchanged glances.

They both knew.

The busy days were only just beginning.

With the arrival of the Beast Kingdom's delegation imminent, another familiar figure returned to the City of Emiya.

Youm.

The hero who had previously been sent to subjugate the Orc Disaster and spread goodwill toward humans.

"The Beast Kingdom's delegation is about to arrive," Rimuru said. "Don't provoke any disputes with them."

"Don't worry, Lord Rimuru," Youm replied quickly. "I wouldn't be foolish enough to pick a fight with a Demon Lord's subordinates."

After hearing about the Calamity-class Beast from Rimuru, Youm had been deeply shaken.

But he recovered quickly.

"Still," Youm continued, "do you think they might try to test us?"

Rimuru looked at him.

"You sent Sir Benimaru as an envoy, didn't you?" Youm said. "That was to test their strength, right?"

"I think there's a good chance they'll do the same. Sending powerful subordinates to test us."

"There's definitely that possibility," Rimuru said slowly, rubbing his chin.

Then he turned to Emiya Shirou.

"So, Youm," Emiya Shirou said, "you'll need to be prepared."

"For the next few days, you'll train with me."

"I'll see if I can push your strength a bit further."

"...Prepare?"

"...Train with Lord Emiya?"

Youm froze.

Confusion and excitement collided on his face.

He didn't understand what he was supposed to prepare for.

But the idea of receiving personal guidance from Emiya Shirou left him stunned.

Up until now, his teacher had been Hakurou.

And Hakurou's training had been brutal-but effective.

Still, everyone knew the truth.

The strongest person in the Monster Federation wasn't Hakurou.

It was Emiya Shirou.

Being trained by him directly was an opportunity Youm never imagined receiving.

Looking at Youm's expression, Emiya Shirou spoke calmly.

"My intuition tells me the Beast Kingdom's envoys will definitely look for a chance to test our strength."

"At that time, the monster side won't be a problem."

"But the human side will need a representative."

Emiya Shirou didn't know how this exchange had originally unfolded.

He only knew one thing.

Right now, his Super Intuition was guiding him.

This Monster Federation was different from the one he remembered.

It had two rulers.

Rimuru represented the monsters.

Emiya Shirou represented the humans.

Because of Emiya Shirou's existence, humans were far more willing to accept this nation.

Merchants came in greater numbers.

And because Youm was here-

A human strongman.

Naturally, he would become the target.

Emiya Shirou had no intention of being challenged publicly himself.

But he also had no intention of letting Youm embarrass the Federation.

"...Am I representing Lord Emiya in battle?"

The realization made Youm's heart pound.

He knew exactly how terrifying Emiya Shirou's strength was.

"That's right," Emiya Shirou said with a slight smile, eyes narrowing.

"So be prepared to take a walk through hell."

"I'm much stricter than Hakurou."

Cold sweat instantly soaked Youm's back.

"Y-Yes! I understand!"

Several days later.

Right on schedule.

The diplomatic delegation from Eurazania, the Beast Kingdom, arrived at the City of Emiya.

The welcoming party was already in position.

Rimuru stood at the forefront.

Emiya Shirou stood beside him.

Behind them were Shuna and Shion.

Further back were the goblin elders, including Rigurd, who handled the nation's administration.

Hidden within nearby shadows, Souei watched everything carefully, ready to act at the slightest sign of danger.

And off to the side-

Youm stood stiffly.

After several days of harsh training under Emiya Shirou, he waited nervously for what might come.

Soon, the delegation appeared.

Rows of luxurious carriages rolled into view, decorated lavishly with gold.

At the front, enormous demonic beasts pulled them forward.

White Thunder Tigers.

Blue-white lightning crackled around their bodies, arcs of electricity dancing along their fur.

Even from a distance, they radiated power.

Instead of horses, they used tigers.

At that point, calling them carriages felt wrong.

With a different design, they could easily pass for war chariots.

...As expected of the Beast Kingdom.

Rimuru couldn't help but think so.

"As expected of the Beast Kingdom," he said aloud.

"It's nothing special," Shion replied immediately, her tone dismissive.

"Under Lord Rimuru's majesty, controlling such minor demonic beasts isn't even worth mentioning."

Rimuru felt a familiar sense of helplessness.

In Shion's eyes, no one surpassed Rimuru.

There was nothing he could say to that.

He could only sigh and turn his gaze forward.

Toward the approaching tiger-drawn carriages.

Thus-

The diplomatic exchange between the two nations officially began.
