Chapter 326 - A Name That Became the Capital

After the establishment of the Jura Forest Great Alliance was confirmed, the gazes directed toward Emiya Shirou and Rimuru visibly changed.

They became more respectful.

After a brief and efficient discussion, the two leaders of the newly formed alliance reached a conclusion.

Rimuru would take the role of allied leader and spokesperson.

Emiya Shirou would serve as vice-allied leader and vice-spokesperson.

As for why Emiya Shirou, who was clearly the stronger of the two, would only take the vice position-

It was entirely his own choice.

First, this was a monster alliance.

Among all the members present, he was the only human.

Second, Rimuru was a walking naming disaster. Once the alliance fully stabilized, the monsters would inevitably be named by her hand. When that time came, no matter how much authority Emiya Shirou held, their loyalty would naturally lean toward Rimuru.

And most importantly-

Emiya Shirou was not someone who would remain in this world.

He was a traveler.

Someone destined to leave.

Because of that, holding the highest authority never mattered to him. A vice position was more than enough.

"Right now, the most urgent issue is still the Orcs," Rimuru said, looking around the tent. "We're talking about one hundred thousand Orcs who are about to run out of food."

The topic immediately drew heavy expressions from everyone present.

Discussion followed.

Suggestions were raised.

Then dismissed.

If they only considered the future, feeding one hundred thousand Orcs was not impossible. Once they settled down and started farming, the problem would naturally resolve itself.

But the issue was the present.

Right now, the Orcs had no food at all.

Among all the races gathered, the Lizardmen had the largest reserves. Even so, their stored food was only enough to sustain their own ten thousand people for half a year.

If that supply were handed over to the Orcs, it would only last two weeks.

After that, the Lizardmen would starve instead.

No matter how they calculated it, the numbers did not work.

When the discussion stalled and silence settled over the tent, Treyni stepped forward.

"Since we are now members of the Jura Forest Great Alliance," she said calmly, "this matter should be handled by our Dryad tribe."

Her words drew immediate attention.

"Oh?" Rimuru blinked. "The Dryads can manage this?"

Even Emiya Shirou was momentarily caught off guard.

This was slightly different from what he remembered.

Still, he had already learned not to be surprised too easily. The moment he realized the Lizardmen couldn't solve the food issue, he knew the answer had to come from somewhere else.

He just hadn't expected it to be the Dryads.

In his impression, their numbers weren't large.

And they didn't even eat.

Sensing their confusion, Treyni explained.

Dryads did not require food to survive.

They lived by absorbing water, light, air, and magicules.

They didn't eat.

The excess magicules they absorbed naturally condensed into fruit. However, no one ever consumed those fruits.

Because Dryads were restricted to sacred areas, these fruits were usually collected and centrally managed.

They were magical food.

Once dried, they would never rot.

These fruits were known as Dry Demon Fruits.

In human society, they were extremely rare.

And extremely valuable.

Because Dryads rarely interacted with other races, these fruits almost never entered human markets through normal means. When they did appear, they were treated as collectibles and sold at exorbitant prices.

The reason was simple.

Dry Demon Fruits contained an incredibly dense concentration of magicules.

Consuming a single fruit was enough to sustain a person for seven full days.

During that time, they would feel no hunger at all.

It was a gift perfectly suited for any race that needed to eat.

The food the Dryad tribe intended to provide was precisely these fruits.

As long as the Orcs could survive this most critical period, once they had land and crops, food would no longer be an issue.

The Orc General immediately dropped to his knees.

Tears streamed down his face as he bowed deeply toward Treyni.

"Thank you... thank you so much to the Dryad tribe!"

Without this supply, even if Rimuru had accepted them, countless Orcs would have died before they could stabilize.

Their numbers were simply too large.

The Great Forest of Jura was vast, but sparsely populated. No single race could support them until crops were grown.

"You don't need to thank me," Treyni said. "If you must thank someone, thank the two lords. Without them, we would never have offered this aid."

"I understand," the Orc General said hoarsely. "Thank you for the protection of Lord Rimuru and Lord Emiya Shirou!"

"Since you understand gratitude," Rimuru said, "then work hard from now on."

"Yes! We will give everything we have!"

Rimuru nodded, satisfied.

With the establishment of the Jura Forest Great Alliance confirmed and the Orc arrangements settled, the meeting finally came to an end.

And then-

Work began.

The first to move was Rimuru.

The naming maniac had officially started her naming plan.

She intended to name the remaining one hundred thousand Orcs.

Meanwhile, Benimaru and the others followed Ranga to the Dryad territory to transport food.

Watching the suddenly frantic Rimuru, Emiya Shirou smiled.

Then he ran.

He had no intention of being dragged into forced labor. With Rimuru's personality, once she got busy, she would absolutely make sure he suffered along with her.

So he took Little Emiya and Little Rimuru and fled back to their town.

There, he began discussing future city planning with the three dwarf brothers.

The city they had originally planned wasn't small.

It could house tens of thousands of people.

And even that size only existed because Emiya Shirou had repeatedly insisted on expanding the area.

At the time, Rimuru had no idea just how many subordinates she would eventually gather.

As a result, the original design was inevitably insufficient.

Now, however, this city had been confirmed as the future capital of the Monster Federation.

In that case-

The bigger, the better.

It needed to be redesigned.

Kaijin, Shuna, and Hakurou, who were nearby, joined in with their opinions.

Little Emiya also participated, maintaining telepathic contact with Rimuru.

Under the collective discussion, a scaled-down city model projected by Emiya Shirou appeared in the air.

It filled the entire room.

Everyone stared at it, unable to hide their excitement.

"This is incredible."

"What a beautiful city."

"I can't wait to live here."

"I want to move in right now."

Listening to their voices, Emiya Shirou felt a quiet sense of satisfaction.

He had invested a great deal of effort into this design.

The joy of building a city step by step was something only those who experienced it could understand.

"Is this the final version?"

A familiar voice sounded.

"It's really beautiful."

"Huh?" Emiya Shirou turned. "Rimuru, you're back already?"

He was briefly startled, then relaxed.

They had spent a full week on this design.

In the original flow of events, Rimuru took ten days to name one hundred fifty thousand Orcs.

Now there were only one hundred thousand left.

Naturally, it took less time.

"So?" Emiya Shirou asked. "What do you think of the city we designed?"

"It's beautiful," Rimuru replied without hesitation. "I really like it."

"Then let's name it," Emiya Shirou said. "How about Central City Rimuru?"

It was a name he remembered clearly.

"That sounds great!"

"Perfect for Lord Rimuru!"

"I agree!"

Amid the chorus of approval, Rimuru shook her head.

"That name isn't suitable."

She smiled as she looked at everyone.

"I think... Central City 'Emiya' would be much better."
