Chapter 327 - A Name That Stayed

"Central City 'Emiya'!?"

Shirou Emiya looked at Rimuru, his mind momentarily blank. Confusion mixed with surprise, surfacing clearly on his face.

"That's right. 'Emiya.'"

Rimuru met his gaze without hesitation.

She knew very well that Shirou Emiya was stronger than her. If things were decided purely by the law of the jungle among monsters, Shirou Emiya was the only one truly qualified to become the Speaker of the Jura Forest Great Alliance. And yet, he had handed that position to her without hesitation.

Rimuru understood why.

She also knew he would not remain in this world for long.

That was precisely why he had entrusted her with leadership. And that responsibility, she had accepted without resistance.

But when it came to naming the future capital of the Monster Federation, she absolutely refused to use her own name.

To her, only one name fit.

"Emiya."

It was a symbol. A symbol of the former Vice-Leader and Vice-Speaker of the Jura Forest Great Alliance.

Hearing Rimuru's declaration, the people present did not understand the deeper reason behind it. But they could clearly feel her intention. And for them, whether the capital carried Rimuru's name or Shirou Emiya's made no real difference.

"I agree!"

"I agree too. Either name works!"

"Exactly!"

Voices of approval rang out one after another.

Listening to them, Shirou Emiya slowly came back to his senses.

"Rimuru-"

"Then it's settled!"

Rimuru cut him off cleanly, raising her voice as she announced it without room for objection.

"Our future capital shall be named Central City 'Emiya'!"

"This is the Speaker's command!"

"Yes, Lord Rimuru!"

With unanimous approval, the matter was decided just like that.

Evening.

The forest was quiet.

Standing near the edge of a cliff, Rimuru, Ranga, and Little Emiya looked out over the surrounding scenery. The distant trees stretched endlessly, bathed in the fading light.

Shirou Emiya walked toward them at an unhurried pace.

Sensing his approach, Rimuru turned around. A smile appeared on her face.

"Don't even think about refusing," she said lightly. "The command's already been issued."

"Of course I wouldn't refuse," Shirou replied, smiling as well. "After all, I'm the one benefiting in the end."

He came to stand beside her.

"That's good," Rimuru said. "I made this decision while forcefully suppressing my grief. It'd be pretty cruel if you rejected it now."

"Haha. True enough," Shirou said. "It's not every day you get a capital named after yourself."

To have one's name become the name of a nation's capital.

That was an honor few could even imagine.

Seeing the two of them talking, Ranga quickly understood the situation. Without a word, he turned and carried Little Emiya on his back, walking away to a spot far enough that the conversation wouldn't reach them.

Once they were alone, Shirou spoke again.

"By the way... why 'Emiya'?"

"...?"

Rimuru tilted her head slightly.

"I mean," Shirou continued, "why not 'Shirou'? Why 'Emiya'?"

He looked genuinely puzzled.

"Logically speaking, 'Emiya' is a surname. When naming something, people usually use the given name. Like when you named Little Rimuru-you didn't use your surname, 'Tempest.' You used 'Rimuru.'"

He paused briefly.

"But whether it's Little Emiya or Central City, you used 'Emiya' instead of 'Shirou.' That's what I don't quite understand."

"...Now that you mention it," Rimuru said slowly, "you're right."

Shirou looked at her.

"You never thought about it?"

"I really didn't," Rimuru admitted without hesitation. "But it doesn't feel random. There has to be some deeper reason."

She fell silent for a moment, searching her memories.

Then she spoke again, her tone more speculative.

"Maybe it's because... from you, Shirou, I feel like you care more about 'Emiya' than 'Shirou.'"

Hearing that, Shirou froze.

Not because she was wrong.

But because she was right.

Compared to "Shirou," he cared far more about "Emiya."

After all, that had been his name in his previous life.

"...Was it noticed?" he thought.

"What's wrong?" Rimuru asked, noticing his silence. "Did I guess wrong? Or does it bother you?"

"No," Shirou said, shaking his head. "You didn't guess wrong at all."

He looked at her and smiled wryly.

"You guessed very accurately."

"I just didn't expect you to understand me that well."

"Of course," Rimuru replied without missing a beat. "We're best friends."

Best friends.

Shirou laughed softly.

Looking at Rimuru's smile, he couldn't help but laugh as well.

It really was good.

Having a best friend like this.

After Rimuru finished naming the Orcs, the situation changed almost instantly.

Her burden became significantly lighter.

Once named, all one hundred thousand Orcs evolved into Orcmen. Their individual combat power rose from D-rank to C-rank, a substantial improvement across the board. Their overall fighting strength increased dramatically.

Among them, the only surviving Orc General-the son of the former Orc Disaster-was personally named by Rimuru.

Geld.

With that name, his strength surged, pushing him directly into the super A-rank realm.

Not long after, Benimaru and the others transported the tree fruits obtained from the Dryads back to the area. These fruits were then distributed evenly among the Orcmen.

Each Orcman received seventy fruits.

Given that each fruit could sustain one individual for seven days, the total amount was enough to last an entire year.

A year.

That was more than enough time for them to cultivate farmland and begin producing their own food.

The food crisis that had plagued the Orcs was finally resolved.

Tears flowed freely among the Orcmen. Gratitude filled their hearts as they looked toward Rimuru and Shirou Emiya. In their minds, they swore absolute loyalty to the two of them, vowing to follow them forever.

Once the food issue was settled, Shirou Emiya began the next phase.

Relocation.

According to the established plan, he distributed the one hundred thousand Orcmen across various regions of the Jura Forest. They were tasked with reclaiming wasteland and constructing temporary dwellings.

With numbers that large, it was impossible to house everyone in a single location.

Rather than letting their labor go to waste, Shirou Emiya turned the situation into a massive construction effort.

While land was being cultivated and planted, the construction of Central City Emiya began at the same time.

For now, it existed only as a model.

But with so many hands working together, the city rose rapidly. Bit by bit, it began to take shape within the forest.

This period became the busiest time Shirou Emiya had experienced since arriving in this world.

In addition to overseeing military training, he also took on the role of supervisor and guide for the city's construction.

He accepted the responsibility without complaint.

In fact, he was unusually proactive.

After all-

The city bore his name.

And so, through collective effort, the magnificent outline of Central City Emiya gradually revealed itself.
