Chapter 391 - Chapter 391: God-Slaying Soul-Guided Cannon Shell

"If that person is the Demon Sovereign, and with the support of the Blood River God-Slaying Formation, it's highly possible they could succeed in becoming a god. Even if not a true deity, they would at least reach a level comparable to one. At the very least, with our current technological capabilities, there's likely no one who could stop them."

As Chen Xinjie spoke, his expression grew increasingly grim. No one wanted to face such an enemy, and the emergence of this situation made the current battlefield all the more dire.

Yu Guanzhi looked around the room and sighed, "I didn't expect that even with all our offensive weaponry, our firepower is still far from enough."

"What about trying high-intensity heavy ion beams?" asked Yuetian Douluo Guan Yue as he stood up.

Yu Guanzhi shook his head. "We've done the calculations. While heavy ion beams might be able to penetrate the Blood River God-Slaying Formation due to their special properties and cause internal damage to the abyssal creatures, the effect would still be limited and localized. We still wouldn't be able to break the formation. And high-intensity beams also require close-range deployment, and their overall destructive output is not sufficient."

So, although soul tool technology had diversified, in terms of peak offensive power, there hadn't been much improvement.

Back when God-Slaying fixed-installation soul-guided cannon shells were first developed, it was to compensate for exactly this kind of limitation. But because the resource consumption was too extreme, their production was eventually halted.

Since then, no one had dared to attempt creating God-Slaying-class shells again. Even when experimenting with ninth-rank and higher weapons, no one dared go further.

Resources were a major limiting factor—and cost, above all, was astronomical.

In particular, the core single-direction positive-circulation energy source was the right direction to pursue technologically. But the consumption of rare metals was so immense that even the entire Federation had only managed to craft a single suit of divine mecha from it.

"Unless we possess even stronger soul weapons, we won't be able to break this Blood River God-Slaying Formation. And time is not on our side!"

Yu Guanzhi's words made his intentions crystal clear—they were going to use a God-Slaying Soul-Guided Cannon Shell.

"Elder Chen, what's your opinion?"

Chen Xinjie nodded firmly. "We can't delay. This concerns the survival of the continent. The Devourer of Worlds and the World-Ender Cannon Shells—use them. The Eternal Kingdom is far too powerful. If it's used, the entire Extreme North region will likely become a wasteland."

"Good. Good. Good!" Yu Guanzhi unconsciously repeated the word three times.

With this confirmation from the Sea God Douluo himself, he knew that authorization for the God-Slaying Cannon Shell was secured. No further approval from the Federation was needed.

"But transporting those two shells will require special measures. It will take at least two days. We must hold the line."

The command meeting ended in haste...

"Human? No—you're no longer human. The bloodline I sense from you… it belongs to the Dragon Clan!" The Abyssal Saint Lord stood proudly among the stars, a vast and strange magical array slowly spinning behind him.

Gu You wiped blood from the corner of his mouth. The seventh divine ring behind him still refused to take shape. If things continued this way, he'd never break through to First-Class God.

With only Second-Class God-level strength, how much longer could he hold out?

Raising the Purple-Gold Dragon God Halberd, Gu You remained silent.

"I've heard the legends of your Dragon Clan on the Douluo Continent—how they rose in glory and then fell into ruin. All because of humans. I never expected that you, as one of them, would actually help the humans."

"When did I ever say I was helping them? I just know—you're not even as good as they are," Gu You replied coldly.

"Heh, we abyssals have killed fewer people than your humans have. Just look at your Holy Spirit Sect. Over twenty thousand years, they've slaughtered more than ten million! As for us abyssals? Since six thousand years ago, we've barely killed a thousand humans a year." The Abyssal Saint Lord's voice was laced with mockery. To him, those thousands of lives were nothing more than numbers.

No—not even numbers...

"Human problems are for humans to solve. Family matters stay in the family, and outsiders stay out. You're not qualified to defile it!" Gu You sneered.

Destructive power gathered around him, forming glowing spheres that blasted toward the Abyssal Saint Lord.

"Child's play."

Buzz—!

Buzz—!

Even the ever-reliable heavy ion beams had failed to achieve meaningful results this time. While their high-intensity beams could indeed pierce the outer layer of the formation, the structure of the Blood River God-Slaying Formation refracted the attacks, preventing them from landing on specific targets.

Though some damage was inflicted, the cost was vastly disproportionate to the effect.

Inside the formation, abyssal creatures of all shapes and sizes filled the space. Some massive ones even had smaller abyssals clinging to their bodies. The sheer number was staggering.

Both sides fell into a tense, temporary lull following the bombardment. The calm lasted for a full day.

Western Corps Command.

"We can't just sit here," muttered Dong Zian grimly.

"Let's just hope they don't launch an attack before the two days are up," he added, shaking his head.

Even though he had his personal ambitions—wanting the Western Corps to rise above the Central Corps—Dong Zian knew where to draw the line.

Without a country, without the Federation, what good would it be to hold power over an army?

At that moment, a piercing alarm blared suddenly without warning.

Dong Zian instinctively turned to the main screen.

A wave of red light flickered across it, and the alarm grew even more urgent.

"Connect to central command." Dong Zian issued the order through his military communicator.

Moments later, the screen shifted to show the stern face of Yu Guanzhi.

"Level One alert. All units to battle readiness. The Blood River God-Slaying Formation is on the move. Prepare for engagement!"

"I had to open my big mouth," Dong Zian cursed. His expression darkened, and then he vanished into a blur.

Yes, the Blood River God-Slaying Formation was moving. It wasn't fast, but satellite surveillance made its trajectory clear.

Even more terrifying—the Abyssal Passage itself was moving along with it. Under the protection of the formation, the passage had begun advancing.

And it was heading straight for the heart of the Federation's army.

"No matter how much we speed up transport, we'll still need a full day. No matter what... no matter…"
