Chapter 230 - Chapter 230: Mountain Dragon King

"Little sister actually means no harm. She's simply very much in awe of Shrek Academy, the number one academy on the continent. So, she just wanted to take this opportunity to interact and spar with your side under the guise of a wager."

Gu You nodded slightly.

"Then, how does Your Highness wish to conduct this exchange?" Gu You asked calmly.

Dai Yueyan said, "I heard you all are also participating in the All-Continent Youth Advanced Soul Master Elite Tournament. Coincidentally, my companions, my sister, and I are also taking part. I believe we'll cross paths soon during the competition."

Dai Yuner quickly added, "No matter if it's the individual, pair, or team event, as long as you can win once against us, it's your win. Especially the team competition—you folks from the Douluo Continent emphasize teamwork the most, right? Let's bet on the outcome of the team match. Dare or not?"

"Of course I dare. What's the prize if we win?" Gu You idly toyed with his fingers.

"The prize... you can ask for anything you want." Dai Yuner thought for a moment, then replied proudly.

"Word has it that the prin—well, I'll decide the prize later," Gu You waved her off dismissively.

"Fine. Then I'll state the penalty for your loss." Dai Yuner puffed her cheeks, clearly holding back a fireball of irritation.

"Go on," Gu You looked at her without much care.

"You become my boyfriend!" she blurted.

Gu You took a sharp breath and gave her a once-over from head to toe.

"Too chubby. I'll pass."

"You—ahhh!" Dai Yuner screamed, trembling with rage.

Dai Yueyan immediately sensed the disaster brewing and dragged his sister away. As they walked off, he turned his head and offered a few parting words.

"My sister isn't quite in her right mind today. I hope you won't take her seriously."

Hearing this, Dai Yuner paused mid-step. 'He's right... when did I start getting this reckless?'

Soon, the first round of the pair battles concluded, and the much-anticipated team competition was about to begin.

Due to Gu Yue refusing to participate, the team lineup was adjusted. The remaining seven would fight as the main lineup, with Gu Yue registered as a backup. She still needed to appear at the arena.

From the crowd size alone, it was clear how much more valued the team competition was. Compared to the previous days, foot traffic around the Star Luo Grand Arena had dropped significantly—perhaps because the crowd had scattered into smaller groups across other parts of the city to watch from soul screen broadcasts.

When they entered the stadium, the first thing they did was check the match order in the waiting zone.

The zone was crowded, and while there were far fewer teams than in the previous rounds, each one had eight members, making the space feel even more crammed.

Shrek's team quickly located their group in the match sequence. Because the team match required more space, only five matches could take place simultaneously in the arena.

Their group was scheduled for the third match—a rather early slot, meaning they wouldn't have to wait too long.

Suddenly, the noisy waiting area fell into a rare silence.

Everyone instinctively turned toward the entrance.

A group of eight entered, all wearing matching dark red combat uniforms. Emblazoned on their chests was a bizarre black insignia—a circular symbol with one jagged, open side, shaped like a gaping maw filled with razor teeth. It exuded a fierce, ominous aura.

"Monster Academy," someone muttered from within the crowd.

'Monster Academy?' Gu You raised an eyebrow. 'That copycat school based on Shrek's system?'

Red uniforms, huh. It really did contrast with Shrek's trademark green. There was that saying—red and green, like vomit seen.

'Now this is getting interesting,' Gu You thought.

Leading the Monster Academy group was a hulking, bald young man at least two meters tall, broad-shouldered, with the physique of a mountain. His presence alone caused a visible ripple through the crowded zone as people instinctively stepped aside to clear a path for him.

Bringing up the rear was none other than Princess Dai Yuner.

She looked striking in her form-fitting red uniform, but Gu You couldn't help but feel a twinge of unease. He had seen her chaotic nature firsthand, and the memory wasn't exactly pleasant.

As they entered, Dai Yuner jogged up and tugged on the sleeve of the towering figure in front. The bald man turned, and at her whisper, he nodded and looked straight toward Gu You.

His gaze turned crimson in an instant.

The surrounding air turned heavy and charged, a violent aura suddenly sweeping the area like a tide. Even battle-hardened soul masters instinctively took several steps back, faces pale with apprehension.

'Mountain Dragon King…' Gu You narrowed his eyes. 'Not pure-blooded, but likely a second-generation descendant. If this were a pure strain, with a secondary awakening, the potential for godhood wouldn't be impossible.'

The giant began walking directly toward him.

Gu You didn't flinch. Instead, a terrifying aura of his own slowly radiated out.

As the bald young man drew closer, his crimson gaze glowed faintly.

"I heard you bullied my sister?" His voice was low and steady—surprisingly calm, considering his towering stature.

"'Bullied' is a vague term. Depends on how you define it," Gu You raised a brow.

"I'm called Long Yue. People usually just call me Mad Dragon. Nice to meet you," the man extended his massive hand, dark red and the size of a dinner plate.

"Gu You," he replied, stepping forward to accept the handshake.

The moment their hands met, the air around them thickened noticeably.

Dai Yuner's eyes sparkled with satisfaction. 'Hmph! You're dead now, jerk. You actually dared to shake hands with Big Brother Long. Just wait and see!'

But to her utter disbelief, neither of them budged.

Long Yue's arm darkened further, red glow pulsing under the skin. At the same time, Gu You's palm shimmered with faint purple-gold light. Both of them stood like immovable mountains.

Long Yue's eyes narrowed, his dark red pupils swirling. Sweat began to bead at the edge of his forehead.

After a full ten seconds of silence and pressure, both simultaneously let go.

Long Yue touched his forehead, looking stunned. His massive hand trembled ever so slightly.

Gu You still looked composed, but even he couldn't hide the glint of surprise in his eyes. 'This guy really does carry the will of a mountain. No wonder his bloodline screams power from a time long past.'

'How could this be?' Dai Yuner stared in disbelief.

She knew exactly what Long Yue's martial soul was. And yet this lanky brat—how could he possibly overpower Long Yue?

The more she thought about it, the more confused she became.
