Chapter 207 - Chapter 207: Her

"We don't know how the other side will deploy their team, but in this match, you must give it your all. Don't worry about the group battle afterward. Second match: Ye Xinglan. Third: Wu Siduo."

"Understood!" The three girls nodded at the same time.

Xu Xiaoyan leaned close to Xie Xie and giggled, "Feeling ashamed yet? Look at that, it's all us girls doing the one-on-ones."

Xie Xie snorted, "If the teacher had let me go, I'd still win."

"Hehe."

"Hehe your head…"

"Hehe!"

There were a total of ten points in the exchange match.

Each one-on-one match counted for one point. The two-on-two match counted for two points, and the seven-on-seven team battle would be worth five points.

Grade Three Class One — Preparation Zone

"Class rep, the academy arranged this clearly to push us! First- and second-years think they can challenge us? So full of themselves," said a lanky, somewhat sly-looking young man, casually crossing his legs and speaking to a nearby youth.

As third-year students, their average age was around sixteen.

The person addressed as class rep had a tall and sturdy figure, his face rugged and plain, not exactly handsome, but emanating a calm and immovable aura. Just sitting there gave others a sense of security, like even if the sky fell, he could hold it up alone.

Li Qiankun, the class rep of Grade Three Class One, and one of the class's two one-word Battle Armor Masters. Eighteen years old, a Level 56 defense-type Battle Soul Master. His martial soul was rather unique, named the Qian Kun Sphere—a rare mutated tool-type soul.

"I've heard some things about the first and second years. We can't be careless," Li Qiankun said calmly.

The sly youth sat up straight, "Come on, boss. They're barely hitting level forty. How far can they go in the path of soul masters? I want to be in one of the one-on-ones. I bet the school just wants to temper them a bit, so they don't get too cocky."

That young man was named Ye Huo, a sensitive attack-type Battle Soul Master. He specialized in high-speed combat. His one-word Battle Armor was seventy percent complete. At sixteen years old, he was well on track to finish his full set before twenty and become an Inner Court student. He was one of the core members of the class.

"You've heard the rumors, haven't you?" Li Qiankun said softly.

"Of course I've heard them! But who believes that? A teenage Soul Saint? Even novels wouldn't dare write that stuff." Ye Huo didn't care. If they followed the academy's internal news more, they wouldn't be so dismissive. But as Shrek students, all their time was devoted to training. Doing anything else felt like wasting precious hours.

"Ye Huo, when are you going to fix that arrogant attitude of yours?" A clear voice rang out just then.

Ye Huo reflexively hunched his shoulders, quickly stood up, and turned to the source. "Sister Mo, I was just joking. Of course I'm taking this seriously."

The girl walking over had black hair cascading down her back, an average build, and sweet looks, but her eyes were filled with an icy sharpness. She walked right over and sat beside Li Qiankun.

"I've done some digging. At least two of those kids have martial soul fusion skills. One is even a self-martial-soul fusion. There's also a fusion of light and darkness. As for that rumor you mentioned, I can't confirm it either. A Soul Saint at their age… Their main lineup all have spirit power above level forty, and a few of them even have one-word Battle Armor made from living metal. If we don't take this seriously, we might embarrass ourselves."

Mo Jue, vice class rep of Grade Three Class One, and the other one-word Battle Armor Master. She had a spirit power of fifty-four. In the class, her influence might even surpass Li Qiankun's. She was strong, direct, and fiercely protective of her classmates. Nearly everyone had received her help at some point. Her personality was straightforward and forceful.

She and Li Qiankun were the bedrock of the class—guaranteed future Inner Court disciples.

By the end of the school year, they would face the Inner Court's trial. Passing it meant officially joining the Inner Court.

Li Qiankun looked at her, "Two martial soul fusion skills? How strong are they?"

Mo Jue shook her head, "Not clear yet, but I'd say they shouldn't be able to break our one-word armor. After all, that armor elevates our combat ability to a level close to a regular Soul Saint."

Li Qiankun smiled faintly, "Let's fight seriously, then."

Mo Jue nodded, "As long as we hold the line in the seven-on-seven team match, it doesn't matter if they win a couple of points early on. Let's give the juniors a bit of confidence. Here's my idea—you and I split up. One of us takes a one-on-one, the other handles the team match. As long as we secure at least six points, we're good."

"Sure, I'll go with your plan. Which one do you want?"

Mo Jue chuckled, "I'll take the one-on-one. Easier for me. As for the team match, we'll see. If they're too tough, I'll go up. If we dominate the early matches, I'll skip it."

"Alright then."

Meanwhile, at the heart of Sea God Island…

There stood a massive wooden house, built nestled into a great tree. This was the center of Sea God Island, the core of Shrek Academy, and the very heart of Shrek City itself.

This golden treehouse was the headquarters of the most powerful institution on the continent—Sea God Pavilion!

The true leadership of Shrek Academy rested with the Pavilion Master of Sea God Pavilion. This person was among the most influential figures in the world. Even when the Federation made critical decisions, it had to consider the Sea God Pavilion's opinion. Why? One word: power.

Inside the wooden house, the decor was unassuming. If an outsider walked in, they'd never believe this was the place where the continent's greatest strength resided.

On either side of a long wooden table sat two men.

They were Yun Ming and Zhen Hua.

Zhen Hua looked at the vigorous man before him. He still looked so young, like in his teenage years.

Back in the day when this man swept across the continent, Zhen Hua hadn't even become a Divine Blacksmith. He could only look up to him. Yun Ming was acknowledged as the strongest man on the continent today, standing at the very peak of human power.

With Yun Ming overseeing things, Shrek Academy stood as unshakable as a mountain. Even the powerful Federation dared not act rashly. Shrek City's relative independence was entirely thanks to the might of the Sea God Pavilion.

"Zhen Hua, you should know who that evil soul master was, right?" Yun Ming looked at him with a strange expression.

"It was her," Zhen Hua sighed deeply.

"Did the battlefield leave behind any traces?" Yun Ming was about to continue...
