Chapter 205 - Chapter 205: Time to Return to the Academy

Just beginning mecha training, it was all basic operation—but this part was critical. With Gu You's physical talent and comprehension, he found his sense of balance in just two classes.

As the middle-aged instructor had said, one had to first feel like they had become ten meters tall. Only then could they begin to find their balance. During the first practice session, Gu You was the only student who didn't fall over.

Controlling a mecha was absolutely a physical task. When piloting, even muscle tension could affect operation. Every small movement of the body had to be precisely controlled to make the mecha follow commands smoothly.

For example, when arm muscles tensed, the armor on the mecha would immediately contract. If it were equipped with weapons, that same action could even be programmed to trigger a soul ray blast.

In essence, mecha operation was about fine-tuning control over one's own body. Only by doing this well could a mecha be fully mastered.

"Alright, that's about it for today's practical class. Who would like to demonstrate some relatively complex maneuvers for us? Feel free to do what you want," the instructor's voice came through the comm.

"I'll go!" Gu You controlled his mecha and made a small jump in place.

"Very well. You go ahead."

The instructor moved his own mecha back, opening up space in the training field.

He was quite pleased with Gu You. In all his years teaching mecha practice, this was the first time he'd seen a student so enthusiastic about mechas.

Gu You not only showed intense passion for them, but he was also undeniably gifted—his body was powerful and his progress was lightning fast.

This was only his third class, but he had already grasped the basics of balance and operation. If he continued at this pace, he could reach the level of a Yellow-grade mecha pilot within a school year.

In fact, the higher the level of the mecha, the easier it was to operate. Top-tier mechas could even connect to the pilot's life soul, allowing them to be controlled by mere thought.

There weren't many high-level mecha pilots in the world. Most were stuck at the Purple-grade level. And in battles between same-grade mechas, victory still relied on the pilot's reaction speed and control skill.

Gu You lifted his leg and steadily guided his mecha to the center of the field.

Just watching him move forward, the instructor couldn't help nodding in approval. 'Good. His balance is very well controlled.'

Gu You rolled his shoulders, his powerful spiritual domain enveloping the entire mecha, allowing him to sense everything within it.

He slowly lifted his left arm, then his right—standard form.

And that was the whole demonstration…

The instructor was briefly stunned.

But inwardly, he was still full of praise.

These actions weren't difficult, but what mattered was that Gu You, as a beginner, could already execute them to near perfection. It showed just how much he'd improved in only a few sessions.

Gu You calmed the excitement stirring within. His personal mecha was already under construction. He'd forged the metal himself, and the rest was in Zhen Hua's hands.

Mechas were the pinnacle of modern technology, while battle armor was the fusion of soul masters and that same technology. They were different paths, each with their own logic.

Gu You had loved mechas since he was a child. Just thinking about finally having his own made his heart beat faster.

By the time he left the mecha training hall, it was already dusk.

'Time to check on your evolutions.'

In his spiritual sea—

Buzz!

The Demon Lizard Dragon's purple scales glowed brilliantly, releasing a terrifying dark aura. Its lizard scales had begun transforming into dragon scales. Though the appearance hadn't changed much yet, its presence was completely different.

With true dragon bloodline flowing within, as long as it was nurtured properly, it might one day reach true dragon status.

On the other side, the flash snake was... strange. It hadn't changed outwardly at all—except for a much brighter golden glow.

Gu You carefully observed for a long time but couldn't figure it out.

Still, as long as it had absorbed the bloodline, it was bound to change. Maybe the effects just needed more time to show…

Half a month flew by. Gu You had more or less mastered basic mecha operation. It was time to return to Shrek. The only regret was that his mecha was still under construction, so he couldn't meet it yet. But he could come back for it in a few months. Either way, they'd meet eventually.

Gu You was the type to take things as they came. Time meant little to him.

After saying goodbye to Zhen Hua and the mecha instructor, Gu You boarded the train back. Thankfully, nothing happened along the way.

Back in the working student dormitory, he was surprised to find someone still around—Yuanen Yehui. He had no idea why she hadn't gone home.

Gu You didn't disturb her. He simply returned to his modified dorm and prepared to spend half a month cultivating.

When Gu You opened his eyes, Xu Lizhi was already back in the dorm.

"Lizhi, where'd you and Xinglan go? I haven't seen either of you around campus."

Xu Lizhi chuckled. "Sister Xinglan found a place that suits her for cultivation. As for my martial soul, it doesn't matter where I train, so I just tagged along. It was a nice way to pass the holiday."

"School starts tomorrow, right?"

Xu Lizhi nodded. "Yeah. There's a lot of pressure in the outer court now. Our class has several people with four rings already."

"Pressure brings motivation." Gu You smiled and shook his head.

"Have you seen Gu Yue and the others?"

Xu Lizhi shrugged. "Xiaoyan and Gu Yue aren't back yet. Xie Xie ran off somewhere early this morning, no sign of him. Le Zhengyu's back though—he's over at his dorm. Looks like Yuanen never left."

Gu You let out a quiet 'oh.' Two people were back already and he hadn't even noticed—he'd been too absorbed in training.

Stretching, Gu You was in good spirits and decided to go out for a walk and grab some food.

"Boss, what's got you so happy?" A graceful figure appeared—Xu Xiaoyan had just walked into the dorm area, catching sight of him.

"Food," Gu You replied simply.

Xu Xiaoyan grinned. "Well, hope you enjoy your meal. I'm heading back to unpack."

Though it had only been a month, Gu You could tell that Xu Xiaoyan had grown more confident. Ever since her martial soul had evolved at the Star Observation Platform, her mindset had gradually shifted. Her old insecurity was slowly fading, replaced by growing confidence.

Indeed, after her martial soul evolution, her three great starlight soul skills were now incredibly powerful in terms of control. Just their definitive nature was already…
