Chapter 188 - Chapter 188: Blood Abyss Trench

"This alloy quality, I'm afraid upgrading to three-word armor won't be difficult at all." Gu You said calmly.

His Dragon God's Grasp was shaken off by an overwhelming force. A presence many times stronger than his surged toward him.

"But don't forget, I have battle armor too." A purple light flickered in Gu You's eyes, and the aura of a sovereign naturally burst forth.

Purple—Gold!

With the battle armor added, the pressure from both sides reached its peak.

Watching the duel, Zhen Hua felt even more gratified.

'The world really does belong to the youth,' he thought. 'If I had this level of strength at his age, I wouldn't have needed to wait until my thirties to become a Divine Blacksmith.'

Dragon might surged in Gu You's eyes, and Xie Yinling felt an indescribable tremor—his martial soul was trembling.

'Not good!'

Gu You had already leapt into the air. His left hand was covered in violet dragon scales. The color and aura made it feel as if a single punch could obliterate everything.

'I'm done for!'

For a moment, Xie Yinling's mind went completely blank. His martial soul refused to respond to commands.

Yet, that dragon claw did not pierce through his chest. It merely tapped lightly against his sternum, severing the flow of soul power and cutting off the link between his battle armor and his body.

"Forgive the offense." Gu You landed lightly and took two steps back.

Xie Yinling was speechless.

'I didn't even get to show anything!' he wanted to shout. 'It ended too fast! I didn't even release a single soul skill!' He wasn't willing to accept it—but the result was right in front of him. He had no choice.

"Hmm, let's go." Zhen Hua patted Gu You's shoulder.

As the two left, Xie Yinling still felt unwilling. As a member of the association's guardian family, he dared not provoke the president by asking for another match.

"Good combat instinct. Looks like you've been doing more than just cultivating soul power." Zhen Hua gave Gu You a rare compliment.

He also handed Gu You a card. There wasn't much money in it—just one million Federation coins, enough for travel. Along with that was a storage ring with vast capacity, organized into multiple compartments.

Gu You sneaked a glance inside. No money, but eighteen rare metals—each particularly precious. Twelve of them he had only heard about but never seen. One compartment held over a dozen bottles of fusing catalysts personally refined by Zhen Hua, suitable for most alloy fusions.

As Gu You stepped outside, ready to head toward the soul train station, he suddenly stopped.

"Teacher Wu." He immediately spotted Wu Zhangkong standing not far away.

Wu Zhangkong still wore his usual cold expression and didn't seem surprised to see him. "I knew you'd be here."

"What happened?" Gu You asked.

Wu Zhangkong frowned slightly. "An evil soul master appeared earlier. The soul train you saved was part of a terrorist attack orchestrated by them. The academy has issued a directive and sent more teachers to protect you during this term's final exam. As for you, I'll be accompanying you personally. But due to limited staff, you'll be acting as a group."

As he spoke, he gestured off to the side.

Familiar faces came into view. Led by Gu Yue, every member of their team was present.

"What level was the evil soul master?" Gu You asked, curious.

"Soul Saint," Wu Zhangkong answered directly.

"Well then, I suppose that evil soul master was lucky not to run into me."

Wu Zhangkong's lips curled upward. Gu You wasn't boasting—aside from Titled Douluo-level evil soul masters, anyone else would've ended up miserably if they'd provoked him.

"Hey guys!" Gu You greeted his companions with a cheerful wave.

He was in a good mood.

Xu Lizhi was the first to approach, sniffing around him in surprise. "You ate something good, didn't you?"

"You've got a sharp nose. Yeah, I did eat something nice."

Xu Lizhi grinned. "We food-type soul masters have sensitive noses! Come on, tell me—what was it?"

Gu You replied, "Even if I told you, it wouldn't matter. No point in making you drool."

"Have you already completed your duel here?" Wu Zhangkong asked.

Gu You nodded.

"They haven't yet. You'll decide how to proceed from here. I'll just follow along."

"Where to next?" Xie Xie looked at the group.

"The Spirit Pagoda," Gu Yue answered.

"Let's go."

Heaven Dou City was bustling. They flagged down a soul car and headed directly to the Spirit Pagoda.

The Heaven Dou branch was second in scale only to the Spirit Pagoda headquarters in Shrek City. The structure was massive and imposing.

Xu Lizhi leaned in close and asked in a hushed tone, "I can tell your blood essence is even stronger. You must've eaten something seriously amazing. Come on, bro, spill it."

Seeing the chubby boy's pleading face, Gu You cleared his throat. "Scarlet Jade Shrimp."

Hearing those three words, Xu Lizhi shivered and cried out, "Scarlet Jade Shrimp? Where the heck did you get that?!"

"Someone gave it to me."

"Who's that generous? That's from the Blood Abyss Trench!"

The Blood Abyss Trench was a bizarre place with a strange magnetic field. Any soul devices entering the area would fail. It plunged thousands of meters into the sea and was filled with countless sea-type soul beasts. It was known as one of the deadliest places in the world. All sea vessels made detours around it. Scarlet Jade Shrimp were famous there—but to obtain one, a diver had to go in bare-handed. Even a four-word battle armor master couldn't guarantee success, not to mention the sea beasts that lurked below.

Xu Lizhi sulked. He'd never eaten one.

Once inside the Spirit Pagoda, everyone naturally quieted. Wu Zhangkong followed behind silently, still exuding his usual cold air.

Gu You glanced at his teacher. He remembered Wu Zhangkong's beloved had been buried somewhere in Heaven Dou City's cemetery.

Wu Zhangkong felt his gaze and shot him a look before turning away.

Gu Yue revealed her identity and was quickly received by staff, who brought the group to a conference room on the third floor.

Before long, a middle-aged man entered.

"Greetings, Spirit Transmitter Gu Yue," the man said.

"Hello." Gu Yue stood and nodded to him.

The man looked troubled. "I've heard your request from our staff. Unfortunately, it doesn't align with the Spirit Pagoda's protocol. We're a service organization for soul masters—we can't compel them to participate in duels. That would be... problematic. Our own staff aren't obligated either."

Gu Yue frowned slightly. "Isn't there any workaround?"

He shook his head. "I've already reported it to our higher-ups. I'm afraid there's no way. Just now, Heavenly Phoenix Douluo contacted us and said you'll need to handle this on your own. The Spirit Pagoda won't be assisting…"
