Chapter 109: Indirect Kiss

"Why don't I feel sleepy?" This sentence almost slipped out of Yui Yuigahama's mouth instinctively.

But when she saw the haggard faces of the two, and thought of the manuscript in her bag that she hadn't even opened since bringing it back yesterday, she immediately swallowed the words back.

"Haha, maybe it's because I had better sleep quality…" Yuigahama gave an awkward smile and quickly grabbed Yukinoshita's hand to change the topic.

With Yuigahama's interruption, the battle between the two ended instantly.

Looking at Yuigahama, who was chirping like a little bird around Yukinoshita, and at Yukinoshita's face that was smiling but clearly troubled, Hachiman Hikigaya shook his head and pushed his bicycle forward, leaving first.

Just as he reached the classroom door, Hachiman collided head-on with someone running out of the classroom.

"Ugh…" Yumiko Miura helped herself up from the ground, holding her forehead and groaning in pain.

"Sorry…" Hachiman stood still where he was, looking apologetic at Yumiko who had been knocked down.

"It's okay. It's my fault for running inside the classroom in the first place…"

Without noticing Hachiman's voice, Yumiko slowly stood up leaning on a nearby desk, shaking her head and taking the responsibility for the accident herself. If she hadn't rushed out, they wouldn't have collided.

By the way, she was knocked to the ground, so is the person who bumped into her okay?

After all, forces act mutually! Thinking this, Yumiko hurriedly looked toward the classroom entrance.

Then she saw the most unwanted "dead fish" eyes staring right at her.

"Why is it you?" The worry and anxiety on Yumiko's face instantly vanished.

"I'm also curious why it's me…" Seeing Yumiko's sudden change in attitude after realizing she was the one who got bumped, Hachiman rubbed his nose with a helpless tone.

"Well, whatever. Sorry for bumping into you just now!" After saying that, Yumiko bypassed Hachiman and hurriedly ran out of the classroom.

Something feels off about her… Watching Yumiko pass by, Hachiman's heart suddenly skipped a beat for no reason. Of course, this wasn't love at first sight. It was just that when Yumiko was so close to him, she gave off a very dangerous vibe. But how could that be?

After a brief thought, Hachiman shook his head and casually put the incident out of his mind.

As Yukinoshita had predicted, the morning classes were a struggle. Hachiman had to muster all his effort just to stay awake and not fall asleep. As for actually learning anything? Sitting on the rooftop, he recalled the math symbols on the blackboard that looked like scribbles from a demon and sighed in despair.

His science subjects were totally hopeless!

"Um, Hikigaya-kun… why are you sighing?" Yotsuya Miko, sitting beside Hachiman and chatting with Yurikawa Hana, tilted her head in confusion upon hearing his sigh.

In her impression, there was hardly anything Hachiman couldn't handle. So even someone so capable could be troubled by something?

"No, I was just lamenting that my science subjects are hopeless…"

Although very sleepy, Hachiman still kept his promise and had lunch on the rooftop with Yotsuya Miko. But because of his strong sleepiness, he really didn't have much appetite for the carefully prepared bento.

"Science, huh?" Upon hearing Hachiman's sighing over science, Yotsuya immediately recalled the mock exam results from that morning.

Judging by Hachiman's sigh, his science scores must have been pretty bad.

"Well… if you don't mind, I can tutor you in science~" Blushing, Yotsuya shyly offered with a clearly implied meaning.

However, after waiting a while with her head down, Yotsuya didn't get any response from Hachiman.

Puzzled, she looked up only to see her good friend squatting in front of Hachiman, repeatedly taking food from his bento with chopsticks!

"What are you two doing?!" Yotsuya immediately puffed up her cheeks and loudly questioned.

After mustering courage to say something so bold, was Hachiman not even listening?

"Eh, what are we doing? Didn't you just see?" Hikigaya and Yurikawa both looked up at Yotsuya. Seeing her angry expression, question marks popped up on their heads simultaneously.

"That's not what I meant…" Seeing the confusion in their eyes, Yotsuya buried her face in her hands, feeling helpless.

Staring at the tablecloth beneath them and taking several deep breaths to calm down, Yotsuya looked back at them again.

"So, Hana, why are you eating Hikigaya-kun's bento?"

"Sorry, I just really don't have much appetite today…"

Though Yotsuya asked Hana, Hachiman felt the question was closely related to himself, so before Hana could speak, he explained first.

"So you let her eat the leftover food in your bento?" Yotsuya looked at Hachiman as if she saw a ghost. After he nodded in admission, she turned her gaze to Hana, who was still eating.

"..." Not knowing what she did wrong, Hana avoided Yotsuya's eyes guiltily.

"Hana, come with me…" Seeing rice grains stuck at the corners of Hana's mouth, Yotsuya stood up and pulled her to the other side of the rooftop.

"What's wrong?" Following obediently, Hana looked at Yotsuya who turned around with a serious expression, scrutinizing her.

"Do you know what you just did?" Before Hana could react, Yotsuya held her forehead.

"Just now? Because of the bento?" Hana blinked, confused.

She only didn't want to waste food. Could it be Yotsuya mistakenly thinks she has feelings for Hachiman?

"That bento was first eaten by Hikigaya-kun, right?" "Then you ate it afterward…" "You two just had an indirect kiss, idiot!"
