Chapter 20 - Attending the Nanotechnology lecture.

Four hours later, the alarm has not ticked, but the sun is rising; it has already passed the sun is about to rise in the air as sunlight and the radiance of the fusion reactor begin to brighten up the skies and the room's windows

Sooner or later, the alarm clock that operates with a battery started to make a conventional digital alarm ringing, a female voice from its speakers echoed, "Good morning, Ava, it is 7 am, have yourself prepared for the eventual day of school

Ava started to wake up and stand up, she went to her restroom to take a piss and then she would do a mouth washing process and then shower and finalizing it with a decontamination process - she exited her bathroom with the uniform without coat (yes her skirt is shown) she groom her hair and blew it with an Air blower, heating it and making it smooth and silky.

Ava stood up and started to wear her coat, before exiting her house and heading to school, about to experience school life, well, fleeting and temporary of course, since she would be dropping out after this semester.

Ava should make the most of her days into something meaningful. She went into a lecture, and there was another ordinary lecture; nothing had changed. She had purposefully turned herself away from her cybernetics, trying to understand the concept like a human, and then release herself from suppressing her cybernetic mind, only to conquer the concept within seconds

The gears in Ava's head were turning; it was like sophisticated machinery. Computing things beyond the confines of human understanding bordering on computer transcendence, but has she really surpassed humans in terms of cultural and egoic nature, even in morality?

Even though she couldn't answer that, most of the time her mind goes through many computations that she forgets things unless she is cogitating about humanity.

She was absorbed in the lecture, her mind was quite focused as she felt the energy in her mind trying to digest and dissect the lecture in front.

Safe to say that she was bored while paying attention.

[blah blah blah]

[The lecture is about nanotechnology]

"Nanotechnology has been used for medical care and devices with its compactness, even air filtration, or as well computer chips, where Moore's law dictates that over the following years the multitude of cores will increase, making things that seem smaller way faster in computational processing."

"We also think that nanotechnology paves the way for architecture somewhat in an unconventional way, where nanobots survey the structure and plan the whole building in a context, assembling or fixing some patches, thus making it capable of maintenance."

"All in all, aside from quantum computing, our knowledge of nanotechnology has evolved, and when the two are combined is the beginning of a new revolutionary frontier called the quantum chip forged from the construction of advanced technology that can solder things in a microscopic level."

"Yeah, yeah, pretty cool" Ava thinks.

"But how do I weaponize this? I would need a chip design 101 for that to be of practical applications. Damm engineering"

Ava's inner self frustrates as she cogitates her capacity for chip engineering, feeling a little left out for primitive knowledge in nanotechnology and her last months of this semester.

Ava continue to listen to the lecture, the lecturer goes by the name of Dr Baldwin a professor who's around 70-80 years he had muscular body with a mustache as his facial signature, sporting a Victorian era like clothing, his arms were mechanical with a muscular look in them, since the purpose of his cybernetic were for engineering assistance

He looked every part of a muscular figure, think of Nietzsche, who is a figure whose aura bespoke steampunk charisma

really flashy stuff

Ava keeps listening to the lecture. The lecturer moves around and holds his crane stick to the board, and the holograms he moves around endlessly. Lecturing while his every movement makes a noise.

Ava continues to listen to the lecture regarding nanotechnology and its theory but it will take more than that to do unlike other people of her kind, yes compared to other natives she wasn't augmented by VR Stimulated learning system, so she cannot try to pinpoint any fragmented semantic recall she can use to her advantage because she wasn't given the uploaded information from the system that every toddler went through, she was the exception.

Ava decides to connect her mind online and starts reading books on nanotechnology. She has spent time busying herself with security and code, especially low cost unfinished artificial intelligence projects.

Yeah, her mind is pretty overpowered; there is nothing that Ava can't do that her mind is incapable of doing, for she is formidable; the only thing is the lack of funding. For instance, she cannot build a quantum computer nor a quantum chip, or anything super impressive. This requires a level of dexterity; sometimes, bigger projects require a team.

Ava thinks while feeling excited, "Hopefully, if I get to a really good organization, the deal I have with my mother should yield me good fruit."

Ava scratches her chin and her eyelids look up and said, "What I didn't, however, expect is that they would turn down my internship requests for my salvation and make me an employee of the lowest ranking. Like I am sort of a janitor or something, very rudimentary work, not cool, I don't get to collab with scientists and engineers, they are all working on this secret project blah blah I would want to peer into it but I have learned my lesson"

Ava continues to ruminate, she has finally managed to hack the collar that was foisted on her neck and had a permission to have it removed - what's weird is that they are willing to let a juvenile violating girl like her roam free in the private corporate system, for what purpose exactly do they want to exact their revenge against her in some way? Is it to ascertain the intentions of the leaders of that organization? Hopefully, it will lead her to some experiences.

Ava continued to listen to the lecture. The lecturer continued with his teaching. He also detected a faint from Ava using her cybernetic mind, retrieving information from the internet. He was impressed and whispered to himself, "A sign of the future of this Era" in a faint whisper and smile, where he continued teaching

The lecturer continue lecturing about nanotechnology and then eventually to the technical aspects of it where he decided to ramp up the complexity, a lot of people continue to struggle except for Ava who can read the information except for when its quantum physics or any field with heavy abstraction and theoretical aspect as they elude her due to its speculative and detached nature

Ava continues to listen, intrigued by the technicalities of the lecturer. She started taking notes and keeping this in her memory bank, as this information could be crucial to most of her engineering projects and also her understanding of material science.

Ava continues to pay attention, she gets to have a more fascinating parts of plasma - yes plasma is also used in engineering and for designing microchips utilized in material science - plasma is something that is created when a group of negatively charged electrons has eject from the gas cloud consisting only the fermions, proton, neutron, and electrons that are left turning into a ionized gas. And due to the ionized nature, it became susceptible to magnetism and electricity, as a matter of fact it's also one of 4 states of matter.

Not only that, receiving an ion from another aton also ionize the cloud as well.

Ava reflected on her studying "That's plasma, it can be used to design semiconductors and stuff. If I can get my hands on laser induced plasma devices, I can start learning nanotechnology or better yet microchip design."

Ava continues on with her thoughts, "A high concentrated laser induced plasma, if focused, can induce plasma when hit on the surface allowing the build of semiconductor stuff in the microscopic scale, plasma technology getting better also correlates well with the Moore's law getting even shorter. You can probably use it for soldering parts of electronics. Pretty neat stuff"

Ava continues to listen, as she starts coursing through the technical aspects albeit a little overwhelming, after all what is a Quantum informatic girl doing in a nanotechnology class oh wait she is smart and studious she can get by with those overpowered implants of hers.

After all she is Ava, and this is what to expect when you have a working computer in her brain and her connection to the internet. Besides Ava enjoys the practical applications of science, since she imagines herself as an engineer not a mere scientist where she would look at the board for hours to no end to find an answer and publish a research paper. That's only for specialists, and she isn't that kind.

Of course when you have a cybernetic brain you're literally like John Von Neumann, or perhaps a living incarnate of a transhumanist kind due to the unknown intentions of a scientist of a father who has never really spoke nor interact with her much only responsible for her birth and the congenial implants in her brain - she feels sad, maybe she wants to feel like to be with her father, she doesn't know what her father looks like except in the photos. There is that curiosity though and that ideation of having a father.

Ava recall being so immersed in her monitor, learning how to code and learning whatever her cybernetic brain introduce her to subliminally, maybe this subliminal message could be linked to him after all - All of this stuff was mainly of his own engineering and doing

Usually, not all people care nor worry too much about having a father it's mostly on father figure representation, the mother may represent the anima and the father may represent the animus, if one is missing it may affect the person ego causing some sort of dysphoria - while it may not necessarily be the case that such incidence before or happening today would blame their father absence for their incipient development.

The lack of father figure representation can really gnaw on a person's development; this is retrospective all the more, but the more pervasive symptom was aggression and attention seeking.

Yes indeed, some of them may watch entertainment and pick the kind of role model that would essentialize their 'masculine role model' where they go and act that quintessence.

For Ava though it's more of a curiosity, not of bitter hatred but curious about another person aside from her mother responsible for her existence, she know she has been genetically engineered she had interacted with her father once as a toddler but cannot distinguish his facial features well, a search through a repository of memories show him being distant and calculating - as if he is merely observing an experimental subject.

Ava decides to clear her head; she realizes that introspection would get her nowhere. She has to focus on the present. Ava starts to get a move on, and she starts focusing her attention on the present

Ava continued to relax as she was still thinking about how to make a nanochip, a rather childish ideation of someone who has a cursory experience with devices, with dread that learning how to design a device would be harder even for her, and the funds she had.

Ava keeps listening before her class is dismissed. She is bored to tears now. The high value of Quantum chips? Have we reached a quantum breakthrough and computing, even AI, where error-correction in these has become nonexistent? How does one integrate quantum computing in a microchip?

It's easier to just make a microprocessor from mere stuff and have it done within months, but quantum computing, once you are done, you will have to observe any error-correction within the chips, how to make a chip whose qubit entanglement is isolated and closed off with superior scalability.

Only the best engineers out there or anyone with superior wealth can pull that off. Perhaps working in this organization and undergoing this private organization would give her the experience, but she is still a low-ranking worker in the job, with special training. Can she accept her fate as one? It wouldn't matter anyway.

What she asked from her mother, there is no way to reverse this, or so she thought.

Ava continued to listen before the lecturer dismissed the class. Ava packed her bag as she was about to embark on a world greater than hers
