Chapter 104 - The Pressure is a Bit High

Lily watched as Kevin sent her foe flying with a single punch. She didn't hear what he had just said, but remained stunned for a moment. Then she jumped up in delight, "Wow! Landlord, you're so powerful!"

The sound was as excited as if she had been the one to make the move. Deep down, Kevin certainly wished he were a master, but seeing Lily's radiant smile, he couldn't bring himself to do so. He could only smile awkwardly. "Actually... if I'm not mistaken, that guy must have been beaten half to death by Vivian's shadow clone and ran over here. I just finished him off."

Lily uttered an "oh," looking slightly worriedly in the direction where the skinny werewolf had been blown away. "So... is he dead?"

"Definitely not," Kevin saw the conflicted expression on Lily's face, knowing she was worried about the safety of her "kin." He shook his head. "I was controlling my strength, and honestly, with my skills... there's no way I could kill a werewolf with one punch."

"I never expected them to be werewolves," Lily stuck out her tongue. "They brought me here without saying anything at first. They only explained what happened after I called you at noon."

Kevin glanced at Lily. "So, what are your plans now?" "This is the first time I've ever met one of my kind," Lily's eyes gleamed in the darkness. "It feels quite refreshing!"

"So you're going with them?" Kevin raised an eyebrow, suddenly realizing this was a truly fraught question. Lily hadn't known the identities of the two "psychopaths" before, so she'd come to him for help. But now that she knew they were her own kind, what would this straightforward girl, who had always taken her werewolf identity very seriously, think?

"Of course not," Kevin said, looking worried. Unexpectedly, Lily shook her head without hesitation. "I don't know them."

Kevin was stunned, then nodded with an odd expression. "Yeah, that fits your personality."

As expected of Lily, her way of thinking was truly simple and efficient: If they don't know each other, they're strangers. Therefore, you can't run around with strangers. The entire process flowed like a straight line: racial honor, belonging to the group. The historical mission of werewolf revival—all this stuff might be too complicated for Lily. This idiot probably doesn't even have the sophisticated concept of "racial identity" in his head. Kevin is absolutely certain that the most important thing on her mind right now is getting home to eat the meat bones she didn't get for lunch...

At that moment, a sudden, loud bang came from the warehouse door. The steel door was violently destroyed and collapsed completely. Vivian's voice drifted through the dusty clouds: "Hey, it looks like you've got it done here. I thought you needed help."

A strong wind blew, and the dust quickly cleared. Kevin could see Vivian's condition clearly. The vampire girl looked completely unharmed, her hair a little disheveled, her face a little dirty, and her expression slightly exhausted. It seemed that the previous battle had resulted in a complete victory. Meanwhile, Kasar Eben, who had collapsed at her feet, was not in such good condition.

The werewolf, so imposing and domineering not long ago, was now covered in wounds and completely unconscious. He was horribly pale, unable even to maintain his werewolf form, and instead appeared before everyone in human form.

"It can't be helped. A werewolf's fighting spirit is too much of a problem. He won't calm down unless his blood pressure is increased," Vivian shook her head. "But don't worry, it's not fatal. It's a good thing you just acted, landlord. If he hadn't been distracted, there's no telling how long the fight would have lasted."

The two werewolves were quickly moved to the open space outside the warehouse. Kevin and the other two, facing two unconscious "enemies," were unsure how to proceed. If Vivian had faced this situation alone, she would have celebrated with a good meal (and perhaps a werewolf treat too), but with Lily around, that was out of the question.

After much deliberation, Kevin decided to call Raven 12345. However, just as he pulled out his data terminal, the two werewolves suddenly groaned, one after the other, awakening almost simultaneously. "That's why I hate these tenacious creatures the most," Vivian snorted. "Look! He was beaten half to death, but he was unconscious for only five minutes. This little guy even started to regenerate his wounds..."

As Vivian said, the werewolf's vitality is truly astonishing. Everyone saw the state of Kasa Eben and the little guy before. They were almost half alive. But in the few minutes they were moved outside the warehouse, the two werewolves had gradually recovered. Internal injuries aside, their external wounds were healing at a visible rate. In another ten minutes or so, they might even be able to jump up and fight Vivian again. "You guys..." Kasa Eben, the first one to awaken, jumped up as soon as he opened his eyes. Then, in astonishment, he looked at Lily, who was now standing with Vivian. "Why are you standing with a vampire?!"

"I want to go home," Lily said matter-of-factly. "I live with her."

"She's not mentally disabled," the smaller werewolf said as he sat up. He realized his situation was hopeless, so he sat there on the ground. "She might have been under the control of the vampire for too long and can't break free."

"Can you two stop being so imaginative?" Kevin said, feeling a deeper understanding of the werewolf's stubbornness. He also felt a bit amused. "Actually... there's a bit of a misunderstanding..."

Kevin took this opportunity to explain Lily's unique situation. Of course, considering his audience's tolerance, he didn't dare mention the husky spirit. But the mere fact that "vampires and werewolves coexist peacefully" was enough to leave the two genuine werewolves speechless. "Look, that's what happened. Lily doesn't want to go with you," Kevin explained, throwing up his hands. "In my opinion, what you're doing is kidnapping. This beating is quite fitting..."

"They're living in peace?" Casa Eben looked at Lily and Vivian with a sneer on his face. "You think I believe that?"

As expected, the real werewolves simply don't believe such a thing exists. The strange situation at Kevin's house can't be explained away... But then again, without the experience of having your worldview shattered and rebuilt, who would have believed such a ridiculous vampire x werewolf combination existed? "They're both unprecedented," Kevin sighed, gazing into Kasar Eben's eyes. "Look at my sincere eyes... Never mind, you won't believe me even if I look at you again. Anyway, I don't want to cause any more trouble. You took Lily away because of a misunderstanding. I can forgive you. If Lily and Vivian don't mind, we'll let you go."

Lily, of course, didn't mind; she was a bit of a fool anyway. Vivian was a little unhappy, but she didn't say much.

The two werewolves, however, exchanged a glance and shouted in unison, "Were we wrong?!"

"Nonsense! You kidnapped my... tenant? Isn't that wrong?"

The smaller werewolf was practically in tears. "I admit our initial methods weren't very kind, but we didn't do anything to the child, did we? I even bought her food." I don't know how this child has grown up, but her appetite is bigger than mine and Kasa's combined. I had to run two trips from here to the city to buy her four boxed lunches. In the end, I had to eat my lunch and Kasa's lunch to get her half full. She is not in her right mind and keeps yelling that she wants to go back to be with the vampires. We both thought she had met a mentally disabled descendant. We spent the whole morning wondering whether we should reveal our identity. After all, bringing a mentally disabled child back would make the tribe laugh. She still wants to watch movies, listen to music, and play. She's playing games, and when her phone runs out of battery, she starts messing with mine. She even reads Pushkin's selected poems during her nap. If I don't buy her some, she'll scratch the wall! Scratch the wall! If I hadn't seen her grow wolf ears, I'd have thought she was a new canine species! Just how sinful are Kasa and I? We kidnapped this incompetent, insatiable kid and brought him back home. Just when we were planning to release him if there was no hope, you guys beat him up... Is having a miserable life a sin?

Kevin: "..."
