Lily's Husky ancestry is actually quite useful. For example, it gave her unprecedented nerves and an almost foolishly open-minded attitude. Kevin felt that this girl's receptiveness was so strong that she might not even react if someone tried to kill her entire family. Thanks to this gift, Lily didn't squirm when Vivian said "one-sixteenth Pekingese ancestry."
Kevin did. Kevin's reaction was even more intense than Lily's. He climbed up from the ground and lunged at Vivian. "What did you just say? What does Pekingese blood mean?"
Vivian, however, remained calmer. After all, she had weathered many storms. "If Husky spirits can become werewolves, what's so strange about Pekingese blood? What if there really is a Pekingese branch of werewolves besides the Husky branch?"
Kevin: "What are werewolves really like in the real world?"
"Think positively. You're not the only one surprised. I'm just as surprised," Vivian patted Kevin's shoulder. "Honestly, in all my life, I've never seen a 'werewolf' like Lily... But the facts are right in front of us, so we can only speculate."
"I don't think Lily is a werewolf at all," Kevin said firmly, trying to clear his mind and relying on his remaining rationality. "Husky spirits are already something special, and now there's Pekingese blood... I just don't believe there are such bizarre branches of werewolves."
Lily looked from Kevin to Vivian, curious: "Then what am I?" Kevin grabbed Lily's hand. "You really are just a Husky... Can't we just stop discussing this?"
"Oh," Lily thought for a moment, realizing she couldn't explain the problem. Her habit of not thinking about it took over, and she nodded resignedly. "Then... what should I do next?"
"Just do what needs to be done," Vivian said. "You've lived your life that way for the past few decades. Your Husky bloodline won't affect your normal life. Besides, being 'outliers' is marginalized these days. Just being able to live peacefully is good enough. Even the nobles in our vampire race are dying out, so who cares about bloodline anymore? Even if you have pure bloodline, it can still feed you."
As expected, Vivian was the one who found peace in the end. This poor soul, who often went hungry her whole life, always considered "having enough to eat" a crucial benchmark in life. As long as she achieved that standard, she was content. This outlook on life was exactly what Lily needed right now. The werewolf girl has rarely encountered anything that has upset her in her life, and this time is one of them. I hope that her Husky bloodline can give her a good attitude to get through the difficulties safely. Kevin took advantage of Lily's contemplation on the couch to chat with Vivian. "By the way, how did you find out about that one-sixteenth Pekingese blood? Even if vampires have that talent... you'd have to know what Pekingese blood smells like first."
Vivian chuckled softly. "I've sucked Pekingese blood. I can analyze the genetic characteristics of all kinds of cats and dogs."
Kevin was stunned. "You've sucked the blood of cats and dogs? Why?"
"Because I'm poor."
Kevin: "..."
I couldn't imagine how many times Vivian had nearly starved to death in her life. She was only able to survive thanks to the abundance of species on Earth...
"By the way, Big Dog, let's talk about something happy." Vivian, feeling that her near-death experience of poverty wasn't worth dwelling on, quickly changed the subject. "Have you felt any changes in yourself? Besides your atavistic transformation, do you have any new abilities? You've evolved, after all."
Lily was genuinely delighted to hear this, her tail wagging subconsciously. "Yes, yes, look at this..." As she spoke, the werewolf girl extended her hands and clenched them into claws in mid-air. Then, a marvelous scene unfolded:
Two eerie balls of light began to permeate her hands, slowly solidifying from phantom to solid. One ball of light emitted a chilling, icy blue aura, while the other glowed a fiery crimson. From Lily's wrists, the two balls of light slowly extended forward, extending a full half meter. Then, as if cooling, they slowly took shape, ultimately transforming into a pair of sharp claws resembling weapons.
The claws on her left hand glowed a chilling, icy blue, while those on her right radiated a crimson, scorching heat that could be felt from two meters away. Aside from their color, the claws were identical in shape, resembling deformed wolf claws, like custom-made weapons designed to mimic animal features. "That's it!" Lily said happily. "Last night I dreamed I had two claws like this, and when I woke up this morning, it was real! Isn't it beautiful?"
Vivian: "..."
"Is there something wrong?" Kevin asked, noticing the vampire girl's unusual silence. "This is inexplicable!" Vivian's expression was as bizarre as it could be. She looked at Lily like she was a monster. "Why did you get two claws like this after evolving? They don't seem to have anything to do with last night's transformation! I thought you were going to gain some superpowers. Normal werewolves should unlock a new talent or something after reaching adulthood. How come you... you unlocked two new claws?!"
"I don't know," Lily poked her cheek with a paw, a little worried. "Don't normal werewolves change their claws after reaching adulthood? Did I fail in my evolution?"
Kevin quickly interjected, "It's okay, it's okay. You're a Husky. Don't compare yourself to them..."
Lily: "..."
"Forget it, claws are claws," Vivian waved her hand in defeat. "Even Huskies can become spirits, so what's impossible? Anyway, it's confirmed that you have two transformations now. One is that you can transform into a giant fighting Husky by eating a lot of spicy noodles, and the other is that you can strengthen your claws while in werewolf form. That's it, right?" Lily nodded proudly. "Yeah! Pretty impressive!"
Vivian found it difficult to continue a serious conversation with this canine, so she just went along with the flow. She waved at Lily, "Okay, okay, let me see your claws. I'll confirm whether they're physical or magical."
"Okay, okay," Lily nodded happily, removing both claws and handing them to Vivian. "Look, but be careful. The red one is very hot. It's fine for me to touch, but you might get hurt."
It seemed that after last night's ordeal, the relationship between Lily and Vivian had truly improved. They now cared for each other.
But that wasn't the point. The point was that the moment Lily removed her claws, the entire living room fell into an eerie silence. "This...this can actually be taken off?!" Vivian's first reaction before taking the claws was to jump up in place. "You actually took it off!"
Kevin was completely lost for words at this point. He realized that it would take him a long, long time to develop a completely new worldview...it might even be a lifelong undertaking, as long as he continued to be with his abnormal tenant.
"You can take it off," Lily nodded matter-of-factly. "It's in your hand, not on your arm."
"What the hell is going on? I've never seen anything like this in my entire life..." Vivian's mouth twitched as she muttered as she reached out to take the strange pair of husky claws. But the moment they touched, her hands retreated as if they had been electrocuted. "Hiss! Hot!"
As expected, these claws were harmless only to Lily. The cold and burning sensation they possessed was no illusion. Especially the red claw blades. To anyone else, they felt like red-hot irons. Even Vivian couldn't stand the heat. Vivian pulled her hand away, but Lily didn't react. Erha subconsciously released his divine weapon. Kevin, upon seeing this, exclaimed, "My..."
A pair of claw blades fell onto the table. The icy claws instantly covered it with a thin layer of ice, while the blazing claws were even more dramatic. They dropped vertically, and like a red-hot knife plunged into butter, they effortlessly burned through the tabletop.
Kevin finally managed to utter the rest of his sentence: "Table..."
