Chapter 91 - The World of Idiots

Lily's evolution was even more rapid than expected. From the moment the strange phenomenon appeared to the moment her transformation was complete, only a few minutes passed. Yet, the process was still quite impressive: an area with a radius of one hundred meters was abruptly shattered into a bowl shape by the wind pressure generated by her transformation, reducing all the dirt and rock within the area to ash. After the most violent shockwave, Lily had transformed into a massive beast, seven or eight meters long and over three meters tall. It was truly larger than Charlie. Judging by its size alone, it was as formidable as Y'zaks had been when he first arrived, though it seemed only the size was more formidable. Vivian craned her neck to peer for a long moment, then heard another "woof, woof" before finally confirming, "It's a husky."

"Stop it, we're getting down to business." Kevin's first reaction was, of course, disbelief. He didn't take her words seriously at all, thinking Vivian was seizing another opportunity to discredit that idiotic werewolf. And to be fair, he thought the giant canine in the pit was a wolf, from its size to its aura. Though its facial features were a bit softer... look at that murderous look, those upright triangular ears, those sharp teeth...it was definitely a wolf.

It was just that last "woof" that was a little hard to understand. "I'm not kidding," Vivian said, giving Kevin a sidelong glance. "Although Huskies look quite similar to wolves, you can still tell the difference if you look closely. I've been dealing with werewolves for thousands of years and have witnessed firsthand how some wolves evolve into various types of dogs. Do you think I can't tell?"

Kevin was stunned, then he noticed that Vivian's expression wasn't joking at all. The vampire girl was incredibly serious, stating the truth, which made him feel completely unreal. "...You said...this is a Husky?!"

Vivian nodded vigorously, practically nodding her head off. Kevin, stunned, slowly turned to look at Lily. The massive wolf-like beast was still gazing at the moon, howling and barking. Kevin felt the weight of this scene was overwhelming him, and he could only crouch down, his head in his hands. "Hush, let me process this..."

But no matter how he reasoned, the facts were staring him in the face. This wasn't something he could just brush off with "strong values." He had to face the shocking truth that was hurling at him: Lily, after her complete transformation, had revealed her true form: a Husky...

Husky, my friends, young and old, brothers and sisters! Husky! At this moment, even I can't believe my keyboard anymore. How can you expect Kevin to believe this?

Believe it or not, Lily seemed quite satisfied. This idiot felt a long-lost sense of comfort after entering her beastly form. Her normally suppressed strength and instincts were released, causing her to chatter at the moon for several minutes. Then, noticing her friends standing by the pit, she immediately sprang over with a jolly trot. Imagine the noise of a seven- or eight-meter-long husky trotting along. Kevin was jolted awake by a mild earthquake. Recovering from his shattered state, he looked up to see an unprecedentedly enormous, toothy beak drooping down at him. A cold sweat immediately broke out. "...Wait! Lily, what are you doing?! We agreed to stay awake the whole time..."

"She just wants to lick you," Vivian said irresponsibly, flying aside. Y'zaks ran even faster. Seeing something was amiss, the great demon teleported a hundred meters away. "Lick me..." Kevin had barely uttered a few words when he felt a warm tongue descend from the sky and slam into him. He felt as if he'd been hit head-on by a speeding sports car. If it weren't for his enhanced body, that lick would have likely broken half his ribs. Lily's tongue even forced Kevin's rigid shields out, and Kevin found himself radiating a translucent film all over his body. This film prevented Lily from accidentally ripping him apart, but it didn't save his new clothes. By the time those two heartless guys, Vivian and Y'zaks, rushed to the rescue, Kevin looked like he'd just been bombed in the Middle East. Three-fifths of his cloth was in Lily's belly...

"You're not covered in saliva, are you?" Vivian asked, seemingly concerned. However, she soon noticed a translucent, insulating film on Kevin's body that blocked Lily's saliva attack. She became intrigued by the film. "Hey, is this the rigid shield you mentioned? Let me hit it a few times, okay?"

"Can you find me some clothes first?" Kevin looked down at his tattered clothes, which had barely managed to hide his clothes, and was on the verge of tears. "Also, does anyone know how to communicate with Lily? All she can say now is 'woof'..."

Where could Vivian find clothes for Kevin? Finally, Y'zaks had no choice but to take off his coat and put it on Kevin. On Y'zaks, it looked like a jacket, but on Kevin, it felt like a cloak. Lily was still in a state of excitement, completely oblivious to the nuisance she was causing the tiny companions below. She simply tilted her head with amusement, watching Vivian flit around her head, her neck twitching like a restless puppy... Big Dog. Occasionally, she would stretch her neck to try and lick Kevin again, but Kevin was much more tactful this time, scuttling away without hesitation. After all, the clothes he was wearing were borrowed.

Vivian circled Lily's head for a long time, only to make sure Big Dog wouldn't bite before daring closer, shouting at the top of her lungs: "Big Dog! Can you hear me?!"

Lily's ears twitched, and she turned nimbly in Vivian's direction. Then she nodded vigorously, panting loudly as she nodded, her tail lashing out in a frenzy. Kevin, even if he didn't want to believe it, had to accept it: the girl he'd been raising as a werewolf for a month was actually a husky...

How could a real wolf wag its tail like that!

Confirming Lily could understand, Vivian felt a bit relieved. Then, she asked loudly, "Can you speak?"

Lily opened her mouth: "Oooooh... Woo?"

"She can hear but can't speak. This idiot... is even more useless after evolving." Vivian fluttered her wings as she descended from mid-air, a look of confusion on her face. "I was actually nervous for three whole days, worried she'd become even more powerful after evolving..."

"I think she's definitely more powerful than before," Y'zaks said nearby. There were no huskies in the Great Devil's world. He was the only one at the scene who couldn't understand why Kevin and Vivian were reacting so violently. "...This has nothing to do with combat effectiveness," Kevin said, his tone as strange as it could be. "Husky is a role model, a complete idiot."

A flash of blue light streaked towards him from a short distance. The data terminal, previously abandoned near Lily as a detector (or mine detector?), returned to Kevin's presence. This unfortunate PDA had just withstood the shockwave head-on and been buried several meters underground. Now, it looked completely unscathed, truly a high-tech product from the Protoss. The data terminal couldn't complain anymore. It circled rapidly around Kevin, "What's going on? What's going on? Weren't we supposed to be a werewolf? How did it turn into an oversized Husky?"

Even with the data terminal saying so, Lily's true form was a foregone conclusion. This PDA had a biometric scanning function. After transforming into her beast form, Lily's attention span seemed to have reverted to that of a husky. She was so close to Kevin and the others, yet she paid no attention to what they were saying. Soon, this silly girl's attention shifted elsewhere. She began to wander around, sometimes picking up a "small stone" (the size of a millstone) and throwing it to herself, then picking it up again. Other times, she'd quickly dig a large hole with her front paws, unsure of what she was doing. Most of the time, she'd just trot around aimlessly. The noise a behemoth like this would make running was unimaginable, but the most incongruous part was the way she swung her tail as she ran...

This innocent look was simply unbearable to watch. Kevin felt like he wouldn't even be able to face a dictionary, let alone movies and TV shows...
