Chapter 90 - Transformation, Barking

"Have you ever heard of the saying 'the moon is fullest on the 16th of the lunar month'?" Raven 12345's voice was low and slow, sounding quite serious at first, but Kevin immediately realized: Seriousness at all! She's just guilty!

"Do you know what I'm thinking?" Kevin said fiercely, gritting his teeth.

Raven 12345, on the other hand, wasn't afraid at all, speaking in a carefree voice: "I know. You definitely want to die with me. I'm telling you, there are so many people in this universe who want to die with me. You'll have to wait in line until the end of the world..."

Kevin tossed the data terminal aside. He was completely helpless against that insane, heartless, and shameless "goddess." The data terminal protested loudly the moment it flew out: "Can't you take better care of your equipment, kid? You can't take your conflict with your boss out on this machine..."

"These days, it's all about throwing phones when you can't win an argument. You're the phone, after all." Kevin glanced at the data terminal and waved at everyone. "Everyone, get up! Let's go home. We can't get anything done today."

Kevin and Raven 12345 were communicating through their brains, so no one else heard. Y'zaks stood up, confused, and while gathering his things, he asked curiously, "What did the goddess say to you?"

"She said the moon is full on the 16th, and I'm planning how to perish with her..."

Everyone: "..." "How did we end up with someone like this!" Even the usually gentle and polite Vivian couldn't help but feel a vein throbbing on her forehead. After a brief moment of daze, she began to mutter to herself as she gathered her things. Lily was still squatting on the blanket, eating and drinking spicy noodles with mineral water. Seeing this idiotic werewolf's lack of ambition, Vivian became even more angry. "Big Dog, can you show some self-importance? Why are you the only one here, acting like nothing happened... Get up, get up! I'll pack up and you can go home and eat... Big Dog? Big Dog, why don't you say anything?" Vivian called out to Lily several times, but she seemed not to hear. Her head drooped at a visible speed, as if she had fallen asleep while eating. Seconds later, her shoulders began to tremble, and a strange sound came from her throat. Kevin sensed something was amiss after his previous experience and patted Lily's shoulder. "Lily, what's wrong? What's wrong?"

Lily shuddered violently, then dazedly looked up. Her golden eyes shone frighteningly bright in the moonlight, shimmering with a halo that seemed both real and illusory. Her face was unnaturally flushed, her gaze unsteady, and she had the aura of a drunken high. "Landlord... ha... I feel a little... numb, and my hands and feet... itch..."

"She's about to transform!" Kevin suddenly remembered the signs Raven 12345 had told him during their call two days ago, indicating the signs Lily had begun evolving. He instinctively leaped back over a meter. His exclamation caused Vivian and Y'zaks to stop what they were doing. The archdemon and vampires scurried over. Vivian carefully observed Lily's eyes and waved for the others to retreat. "It's definitely begun! Everyone, stand back. She might be more dangerous than we thought after she transforms... This aura is different from what I've seen from other werewolves."

Kevin looked up at the moon, puzzled. "Didn't we just say the moon is full on the 15th... Has that psychopath's evolutionary stumbled so quickly that it's taking effect right away?"

Vivian observed Lily intently, her gaze finally landing on the remaining half of the snack pack in her hand. Suddenly, she felt uneasy. "This might be the first werewolf I've seen transform not from moonlight, but from eating too many spicy snacks..." Y'zaks couldn't help but stumble, then muttered as he packed his things, "Ever since I met you, I feel like the first half of my life has been wasted... I've broadened my horizons in the past few days, more than in the entire previous half."

Everyone, except Lily, who was nearly losing control, busied themselves. Vivian packed her things, while Y'zaks ran to an open space a hundred meters away and summoned some green runes to outline something on the ground. Kevin, mindful of Raven 12345's instructions, set his data terminal to detection mode and circled Lily a few times, gathering information about the nearby energy field. This would be part of the report he would submit to Raven 12345. Lily's body had only slightly changed, but her mind was clear (at least for now, it looked like the raven's "treatment" hadn't failed). Watching the others busy themselves, she felt a little restless. "Landlord, what am I doing?"

"Just stay here and tell me if you feel any discomfort." Kevin waved Lily still, throwing the data terminal onto the ground nearby. "You're acting as a detector."

The data terminal suddenly barked, "Hey, wait a minute! What if she goes berserk after transforming and eats this machine?"

Kevin thought about it. It was said that werewolves have a voracious appetite after transforming, so they'll eat whatever they can find. So, he quickly ran to Vivian for some stomach medicine and handed it to Lily. "Here, take two for indigestion. It's definitely effective."

Data terminal: "...Damn it..."

Everything was quickly packed up, and Vivian packed it up and brought it to the defensive position Yzaks had outlined with demonic runes. Only the blanket at Lily's feet remained. By this point, the strange phenomenon surrounding the werewolf girl was obvious enough for even the most ordinary person to see: waves of unsourced vortexes swirled around her, their speed increasing with an abnormal turquoise glow. Kevin could feel the alternating hot and cold currents within a twenty-meter radius of Lily. But taking another step forward was impossible: the turquoise vortex had the substance of a blade, cleaving the gravel on the ground with the slightest contact. The blanket beneath Lily's feet was already shredded like a mosquito coil. Kevin had no intention of using his rigid shield to compete with Lily's blade-like vortexes for the time being...

The werewolf girl, the person involved, stood at the very center of all this strange phenomenon. The small area around her was extremely calm, as safe as the eye of a typhoon. Lily, of course, wasn't afraid of the strange phenomenon she'd caused. She simply studied the cyclones around her with curiosity. Discovering that she could somewhat control them, she suddenly beamed with joy: "Landlord, landlord! I can cast magic too! That bat can't say I'm brainless!"

Just based on these words, her brain still had its limitations...

Kevin gestured encouragingly to Lily, then sprinted towards the safe zone a hundred meters away. The so-called "safe zone" was a sparsely populated area covered in green demonic runes. Y'zaks had created a protective barrier here using runes he had conjured from thin air. These runes floated a few centimeters above the ground, constantly moving like living things. While a bit scary, their protective power shouldn't be a concern.

"Strong aura! The werewolves of your world are truly fascinating creatures. They can actually grow so explosively." Y'zaks stood in the center of the runes, arms folded, observing Lily's condition with interest. "Hmm... there's a change..."

Almost as Y'zaks finished his words, the cyclone around Lily suddenly erupted!

The scene was like a massive bomb crashing to the ground. The initially "soft" turquoise whirlwind suddenly contracted and exploded in all directions. Countless turquoise shockwaves spread out from Lily, sending flying sand and rocks whirling in their wake with a terrifying roar. The entire ground was shaved away in a fraction of a second. The demonic formation Kevin and the other two were trapped in suddenly erupted with intense light, and all the runes instantly soared into the air. A green shield blocked the incoming shockwaves, but the situation outside the shield was completely obscured.

A hundred meters seemed a bit too close. Y'zaks had misjudged Lily's strength. The three of them were essentially within the blast radius of the shockwave...

"Woo!"

A long, distant wolf howl, like a cloud, suddenly reached their ears. The surrounding shockwaves abruptly subsided. Y'zaks removed his shield, and Vivian used a fierce wind to blow away the dust and mist. A shocking scene unfolded before everyone. The once flat land had been shattered beyond recognition. Before Kevin lay a gentle depression with a radius of a hundred meters. The cyan shockwaves had carved this area into a bowl-shaped pit, and he stood at the edge of it.

In the center of the pit stood a massive beast, its head held high.

The beast, seven or eight meters long, stood on all fours, yet was as formidable as Y'zaks in his demonic form. Its fur was as white as snow, with only a few black markings on its face and shoulders. This was Lily, fully transformed into a beast.

Kevin's first glance fell on her ears and tail. The perky triangular ears and the swaying white tail were identical to Lily's in human form, simply magnified many times over.

"Why do I feel... a little different from a wolf?" Vivian tilted her head to observe for a long time, finally unable to help muttering. Lily, still immersed in the euphoria of complete animal transformation, gazed up at the full moon and let out another loud, powerful howl: "Awooo... Woof!"

Vivian finally clapped her hands: "Isn't that a husky?"
