Chapter 64 - Ch. 64 - Yuta wants to be my what!?

Seeing Alya's pitiful expression, Kenshin could only sigh and reluctantly eat the bowl of madness.

Of course, he secretly used magic to temporarily dull his tongue's taste buds so he wouldn't taste any of it.

Not to mention, he also blocked his nostrils so he wouldn't smell any of it.

While taking a spoonful of it, Alya's face staring at him made him a bit uncomfortable.

He gulped and offered the bowl to her, "You want one?"

She seemed to panic at first before vehemently shaking her head.

His face suddenly grimaced, Yeah, she definitely knows how bad her food is.

But still, as a proper teacher, he must endure hardships for his student!

It didn't take long for him to finish the bowl and despite all the buffs that he placed on his body, the lingering taste still managed to invade his brain.

Maybe I should've cast a poison resistance spell instead of turning off my taste buds, muttered Kenshin with regret.

Now he's worried if he turned it back on, would the aftertaste still be there?

"So, what's our lesson for today?" Alya suddenly spoke while grabbing the bowl before heading to the kitchen.

With her back turned on him, Kenshin quickly materialized a splash of water coated with a purification spell and quickly rinsed his mouth for a good few seconds before spitting it on a nearby pot of plants.

Kenshin cleared his throat and turned his taste buds and sense of smell back on—the taste was no longer there thankfully.

He then spoke, "Well, since you favor flame magic, we'll venture on that."

To be honest, he was quite surprised that Alya would prefer fire magic rather than ice magic. Can you blame him? Most anime logics, especially magical and fantasy ones would sometimes base the color of their hair on their favourite elements.

In Alya's white hair case, he thought she would be fascinated with ice magic. But instead, she went over fire magic with Sawako being the one who favors ice magic instead.

The lessons weren't that many. They both stayed in Alya's bedroom, expanding her room with space magic and tempering it with a few defensive spells.

By the time her big sister was back home, Kenshin had already vanished like a ghost, leaving an exhausted and heavily sweating Alya on the bed.

Due to the training, of course. What were you thinking hmm?

———

Kenshin's next victim is Sawako, who was surprisingly already training on her own, albeit she was careful and refrained from using too much lest she accidentally destroy her room.

But still, a small hole in the ceiling and a frozen teddy bear tell otherwise.

"You've been busy." Said Kenshin after entering through her window.

Sawako shyly looked away and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

Before saying, "I was…trying to impress you."

Kenshin froze in his place and kept his eyes on Sawako's embarrassed expression.

His face suddenly turned serious, "Where's Sawako? Where did you take her and why did you take her place?"

"E-Ehh?!" Her face quickly transitioned from embarrassment to sheer panic.

"I-Uh-I-abuuh~" She surrendered in the end, unable to handle the panic, and was burnt out.

Kenshin chuckled and quickly patted her head, he's been doing this a lot and yet he likes it.

"I'm just joking with you. Come on, I'll teach you the advanced ice magic spells."

Similar to Alya, a few hours passed before Kenshin left her battered, spent, and filled with his knowledge about ice magic and structures of magic itself.

———

At the end of it all, it was already nighttime, and Kenshin hadn't gone home yet. Instead, he's still outside—bearing another purpose before calling it a day.

Training himself, of course!

And what's a better training method there is but to hunt Cursed Spirits?

By spreading his senses throughout the entire vicinity around him, covering almost Tokyo and Kyoto together, Kenshin was able to detect where the Cursed Spirits are gathered the most.

Downtown Kawamarachi!

A place filled with shops and restaurants to the brim! But since it's already nighttime, it's not as active as its morning counterpart.

Donning his black garb and the red malicious-looking Oni mask, Kenshin stepped forward and his figure instantly disappeared.

From his eyes, the surroundings have turned into a blur as he tests his full speed without causing sonic booms or destruction around him.

This requires precise control over his mana and also a 360 full awareness of his surroundings up to tens of miles in radius.

Fun fact, this is his first time doing this. Manipulating his mana to cover his body with some sort of barrier, to protect his surroundings from getting burnt by the friction against his speeding figure.

Back in the world of Fantazio, he didn't consider this as the world is mostly occupied with large expanses of nothing but trees or sand or wastelands.

There are barely any Kingdoms and Towns in that world.

So when Kenshin wants to arrive quickly at a destination without using teleportation, he would simply bulldoze through everything in his path.

Be it trees, boulders, monsters, or even some bandits and their camps. He's just going full speed straight without a care in his surroundings.

But as of now, in this kind of world, he had to be careful, watch out for his surroundings, and maintain a proper speed that wouldn't cause trouble to others.

Upon his arrival, Kenshin quickly encountered a Cursed Spirit with a frog-like appearance, about to terrorize two kids walking by themselves.

Without hesitation, Kenshin quickly raised his hand and pointed his index finger with his thumb erect.

He closed his right eye and tilted his head before opening his mouth.

"Bang."

A single word escaped his lips as a beam of white energy was released from the tip of his index finger which pierced through the air and instantly penetrated the head of the Cursed Spirit.

The two children, oblivious to the fact that they just escaped their fate, continued their skipping in joy and innocence.

Kenshin sighed in relief, though just to make sure, he secretly planted temporary protection runes on the two that would disappear after a few hours.

Feels great to be a hero now and then, Kenshin murmured to himself as he resumed his journey to the Downtown Kawamarachi.

By the time he got there, he had eliminated a few more Cursed Spirits and saved a few unfortunate souls that would've been on the news tomorrow.

Kenshin arrived at a certain area, a huge newly built small stage on the front, flanked by huge amounts of crowd around it.

Loud bass and music were blasting all over the place as the people jumped and bobbed their heads to match the music's rhythm.

Kenshin positioned himself at the far back of the crowd, his head tilted to the side as he curiously watched the loud concert of a Japanese band.

Surprisingly, the lead singer was a girl with bangs covering her eyes and upper face.

Kenshin also bobbed his head within the rhythm of the song, he could feel the emotion bubbling up inside the girl, as if she were crying and wanted to vent to the world.

Japanese music is surprisingly good if you understand it, as a proud freedo—ehem! American in his past, Kenshin has grown tired of the modern English songs, he always liked the old style music. After all, it's like what they say, Oldies but Goodies.

Still, it's a bit weird. I sensed many Cursed Spirits around here but now that I'm here, they all suddenly disappeared…Kenshin furrowed his eyebrows.

Could it be they sensed my presence so they instantly scurried away? But that doesn't make any sense, only high-level Cursed Spirits are capable of thinking and sometimes possessing intelligence that is comparable to a human.

Just as Kenshin was deep in contemplation, his sharp senses suddenly picked up a pair of eyes staring at the back of his head.

Without showing any reaction, Kenshin pretended as if he was still immersed in the music but his magical senses were already tracing where the pair of eyes belonged to and it didn't take long for him to find them.

His eyes widened in surprise upon seeing a familiar face that was staring at him.

A name quickly appeared in his mind.

Suguru Geto.

The man who can literally swallow the balls of Cursed Spirits and use them like a bunch of Pokémon.

In other words, an upgraded version of Ash Ketchum.

What's he doing here? And looking at the back of my head like I owe him something…Even though he was still pretending as if he were enjoying the concert, Kenshin clenched his fist and prepared for a possible attack.

Although the place is crowded with humans but Geto sees them as monkeys, bags of flesh that do nothing on Earth but consume resources.

Who knows what goes on in that guy's mind? Kenshin can't afford to let his guard down especially now that he's on Geto's radar.

The Cursed Spirits I sensed earlier around this place must have belonged to him. He probably hid his cursed energy after sensing my presence, muttered Kenshin under his breath, assuming in his mind.

Sensing that Geto was still looking at him, Kenshin mentally sighed. It's like one of those feelings when you're in a detention and your friends are just outside the door, peeking through the glass panel but you can't leave due to the teacher keeping an eye on you.

Yeah, Kenshin knows that feeling.

Thankfully, the staring contest between the back of his head and Geto's eyes didn't last long as he soon turned his back and left, much to Kenshin's relief.

Although he could take down Geto just fine but he doesn't want to risk doing it in such a crowded place. Better to do it somewhere empty and dense.

Still, he wonders what made Geto stare at him for five minutes straight.

He assumed, He must've seen or known about my enrollment in Jujutsu High, I haven't exactly hidden myself that well and I probably have quite a few unique abilities I showcased that piqued his interest.

His thoughts were suddenly interrupted by a joyful voice that sounded familiar behind him, "Ah you're also here, Kuroki-senpai!"

Turning around, he saw Okkotsu Yuta, with a faint smile on his face while wearing a simple white shirt.

Kenshin was about to return the smile when his eyes suddenly caught sight of the figure from behind him and his mood drastically worsened.

"Yo!" Satoru Gojo with a soft smile, waved his hand at him. His hair flicked in the air—wearing sunglasses instead of the usual white blindfold.

Around him, some ladies were squealing and had bouncing hearts in their eyes.

Satoru simply ignored them or perhaps he secretly enjoyed it but just wanted to keep his cool in front of Yuta and Kenshin.

Kenshin stared at him for a few good seconds before shifting his full attention to Yuta and greeting him with a smile, "…Hey there, Yuta."

"Eh? What about me?" Satoru awkwardly pointed at himself, interrupting Yuta who was just about to greet him back.

Kenshin still ignored the guy and slung his arm over Yuta's shoulders, "What're you doing here? Are you also a fan of this band?"

If they'd arrived earlier, Satoru would've reunited with his long-lost boyfriend, mumbled Kenshin, amused and curious about what would happen if the two met early before Geto encounters Yuta.

His thoughts were interrupted by Satoru's loud voice, "Yo! Kuroki-san, remember me? It's me, Gojo-sensei! I'm your teacher!"

Watching the world's strongest sorcerer flailing his arms around while acting like a child, Kenshin sighed in defeat.

"…Hey there….Gojo-sensei."

The next moment, Kenshin quickly ignored the man before he could even celebrate.

That's because he sensed that Yuta seemed like he wanted to say something to him. His constant opening and closing of his mouth and the hesitant look on his face make it easy to read him like an open book.

"Anything you want to tell me, Yuta? If this is about Rika-chan, I apologize."

Yuta immediately shook his head and replied, "No no no! That's not it, Kuroki-senpai. It's just that…" with a few more seconds of hesitation before gaining a determined look—Yuta raised his head and directly stared into Kenshin's eyes.

He then took a single step back before bowing his head deeply, "Please be my Sensei, Kuroki-senpai!"

"Huh!?"
