By the time Kenshin arrived at Yasaka's mansion, the Yokai guards simply nodded their heads at him as he entered.
They're already familiar with Kenshin, so there's no need to check up on him.
"He's the Queen's lover, right?"
"I think? That's what the rumors say so."
Ignoring the two Yokai guards whispering to themselves, Kenshin sauntered inside the premises where he was met with the same dining room where he first met Yasaka's parents.
"Good morning." He greeted as Yasaka now sits in the top middle of the table with her parents on the sides of the table.
Inari was the first to reply with a coy smile on her face, "It's nice to see you again, young man."
"You too, Miss Inari." He nodded his head at her and then at her husband before bringing his attention to Yasaka.
"Let's eat first before we proceed." She said first before he could say a thing.
Right, he forgot to eat breakfast back in his home.
So he agreed and sat beside the father, who was still and quiet, as if he were some kind of extra in the background.
"Good morning, Kuroki-san." He meekly muttered, his eyes darting towards Inari and Yasaka.
What's with this guy? He looked like he was getting beaten at his home, and his eyes then went towards Inari and continued.
Is she a husband-beater?
Then at Yasaka, A father-beater?
Drawing to a conclusion, a look of pity appeared in his eyes as he looked back at the only man of the house.
After that, he grabbed the spoon and fork and started to eat. Inari and Yasaka seemed to have been waiting for him to start as they followed suit.
"How was your day dear?" In the middle of their dinner, Inari curiously asked him, her soft voice ringing across the dining room.
"…Fine?" Not only Kenshin but when Yasaka was weirded out by Inari's suddenness.
"I see…Have you thought of spending your entire day here? Are you going to be busy later?" Another weird question.
"I'm….not sure. I'm planning to help Yasaka for the Tokyo Leylines, so I'll be spending my entire day with her."
A sigh of relief came out of Inari's mouth as she muttered the last sentence to herself, "Oh wow. Thank heavens."
"Well, you two can go ahead and be busy with whatever you're gonna do. Just make sure to bring her home before ten, okay?" Inari softly cupped her left cheek and tilted her head with her eyes closed.
"…Okay." Kenshin gulped and nodded his head.
After they finished their breakfast, Kenshin was quickly dragged by Yasaka to her room much to the amused eyes of Inari.
As soon as they got inside and Yasaka closed the door, he finally mustered the courage to ask, "What was that with your mother?"
"Ignore that. She and Dad fought yesterday for reasons I don't know." Yasaka shook her head and replied. She overheard it from her room after Kenshin left her exhausted and spent. However, because she doesn't want to pry on her parents, she didn't hear much.
"Seriously? No wonder your dad looks like he's tired of living." They both chuckled at his comment.
They shared a few more laughs and quips before Kenshin steered it back to their original plan.
"Alright, so you said that you already have the location, right? Knowing that Peacock, he won't just casually hand it over without backups. So we'll probably encounter some hindrances over there." Sitting on the bed, Kenshin pointed out the possible outcomes of what they're going to do.
He continued, "In fact, he might've even given the wrong information, and the Leylines are hidden somewhere else."
Yasaka shook her head and denied his words, "No. Mother confirmed it during their talks. The only problem we'll encounter are enemies, fellow Yokais, and such. Maybe even hired humans for all we know."
"They won't be a problem." Kenshin confidently said, if there's something he's good at, it's fighting and battling, and killing.
Or maybe grinding also?
"Definitely." Yasaka also grinned. She's confident not only in her own strength but more so in Kenshin's.
After all, she's the one who fought him and lived to tell the tale.
Just as Kenshin starts to get comfortable, her next words made her shiver abruptly.
"Right, I've been meaning to ask you since earlier but why do you reek of draconic smell?"
Shit… Kenshin cursed under his breath. Should he come up with a lie instead? Or just tell her the truth?
After a few seconds of contemplation combined with Yasaka's hard gaze, Kenshin finally relented and spoke.
"Would you believe if I were to tell you that I have a Dragon God residing in my closet?"
"Eh?"
———
"What do you mean he can't be found? We have eyes all over the world! What about the human politicians that we have in our pocket? Are you telling me they're useless?!"
While Kenshin and Yasaka were planning for their ultimate heist on something that is rightfully Yasaka's, the rotation of the universe is still rotating.
As such, Shalba Beelzebub, the original Satan Beelzebub's heir, bore two bloodshot eyes and disheveled hair.
This morning when he woke up, he was already expecting the human already be escorted by his men, tied and gagged. He already planned the words to say to influence the human and convince him to join him.
However, instead, the report that came was another failure. In just a single week, he received two failed reports.
I'm not getting rusty, am I? He wondered to himself while his gloved hand was clutching the report paper.
"….Perhaps the human is using an Illusion magic?" His brows furrowed.
Perhaps, it's time for him to contact a few favours from the human's largest organization.
The Jujutsu Sorcerers.
He remembered a few years back when he accidentally saved a Jujutsu Sorcerer on the brink of death by the Special Cursed Spirit that he was after due to his side hobby of playing with Cursed Spirits.
But now, this said human is an Elder of the Jujutsu Sorcerer, one of the Higher-ups or so they're called. The last time he heard of him, he was also the Principal of a school that teaches people like him.
Previously, Shalba didn't bother with the Jujutsu Sorcerers these past few years—mostly because he looks down on them and sees them as an inferior species. Anything that they can do, he, a Satan devil heir can also do but better.
Looks like he's going to be useful after all, he smirked and called one of his subordinates nearby to fix the broken table he just smashed out of anger earlier.
He's going to meet this sorcerer himself.

"Maki-san has been too quiet these days…" In Tokyo Jujutsu High's training grounds, three figures occupy the field.
First is Inumaki, sitting on the sandy ground while munching on some snacks. Behind him stands Panda, holding an umbrella to shield him and Inumaki from the sun's heat.
The two of them watch Maki, wearing a full-body jogging shirt and pants, constantly dancing around as she practices with her new Naginata, her new favorite weapon—replacing Katanas.
Although her reason was that she felt more comfortable and easier to fight using a Naginata compared to a Katana but Panda and Inumaki knew it was bullshit.
They suspect that the main reason is that her new Naginata is a gift from Kenshin, their newest classmate.
Another theory is maybe because Kenshin beat her in Katanas, so she started to avoid using it, perhaps due to her pride or something, they have no idea.
"Inumaki-san, do you think she's in that state?" Panda bent slightly and whispered into Inumaki's ears.
"…" He replied by shrugging his shoulders. They both returned their gazes to Maki, who looked like she was finishing her technique when suddenly, her footwork got displaced and her posture turned awkward.
"….Hah! Hah!" Maki gritted her teeth and resumed her stance. Her grip on the Naginata shaft was tightening to the point that her knuckles were almost turning white.
Soon enough, she started back to the top, her graceful movement mixed in with sheer power and an aura of strength manifested and made her look like a Goddess of War.
"She looks scarier than usual." Panda uttered and Inumaki quickly nodded his head like a pecking chicken in agreement.
"Salmon!"
———
Oblivious of the fact that he was occupying a few certain people's minds, Kenshin was too busy assessing the hideout in front of him.
A cave deep in the forests to be exact.
"This is the place. Where the Leylines of Tokyo reside." Behind him, Yasaka spoke with all seriousness.
She didn't need to say it out loud as Kenshin's senses were jumping in excitement from the sheer pure energy radiating from inside those caves.
Its miasma is pouring out and affecting its surroundings, the lush trees and grassy grasses being too green and healthy serve as the evidence.
"Hopefully, everything goes just fine," mumbled Kenshin. He didn't just raise a flag, right?
Right?
"It'll be fine, no worries. You know what's not going to be fine? You, if I discover that you're lying to me about the Infinite Dragon God Ophis being in your closet."
Her words suddenly made him shiver.
"Can we not get to that for now? And for your information, I'm telling you the truth. She's in my closet!" Kenshin retorted with a whisper.
Yasaka snorted and replied, "In what? Your Universe-sized closet?"
"Yasaka, I'm telling you the truth."
"…Sigh. Fine. It's just that, not every day you get to see one of the two Dragon Gods in your entire lifetime, much less meet them in person and have them stay in your closet."
Kenshin deadpanned at her, "I'm taking you to my room after this."
A sly smile crept up on her face, "Oh my, are you inviting me to your room? Are we going to do it in your room this time? Fufufu~"
Kenshin rolled his eyes at her, "You're helpless." though he can't deny the small curve of his lips.
Maybe he should just reschedule this mission and do the deed? The thought of taking her to his room and loving her violently made him a bit horny.
Stupid teenage hormones, he cursed and blamed.
"Helplessly in love with someone, maybe." She quipped.
Before Kenshin could say something about it, she suddenly stretched her arm forward and pointed at the entrance of the cave.
"Look! Something's coming out!"
That got Kenshin's attention and made him forget about what she had previously said.
True to her words, something, or more specifically, someone was walking out of the cave, their large shadow, broad shoulders, and two arms-like outline on the ground indicate that whoever it is, it belongs to a human.
When the shadow showed the head with two large ears. He concluded. It's a Yokai, a rabbit Yokai.
Most Yokais I met possess the characteristics of the kind of animal they are. This bunny probably specializes in speed and agility, Kenshin assumed.
As soon as the rabbit Yokai came out, his assumption turned out to be true. A human-like figure walked out with bunny ears, his body covered in white fur and eyes as red as the scarlet blood.
Another Yokai came out but this time, this figure is larger, muscular, and has two curved horns on the head.
A sheep? No, he looks more like a buffalo, whispered Kenshin under his breath.
Yasaka and Kenshin stayed put as the two Yokais patrolled the area around them, probably searching for intruders or lost travellers wandering the vicinity.
Kenshin whispered to Yasaka on his side, "Take them out or sneak inside? Your call."
Yasaka stayed silent for a few seconds, as if contemplating his words before finally giving out an answer with a shake of her head, "Let's spare them for now. We'll sneak inside. Their master, Fideus is the one I have bad blood with, not his subordinates."
Kenshin nodded his head, agreeing with her logic.
"Alright. Let's get going then."
