Chapter 54 - 54 - Catching the Supernatural Attention!

"Sona-tan, stay here, okay?" Serafall turned back to her little sister and patted her head.

Sona tried her best to hide the fear from showing on her face, putting up a strong front, "W-What's going on, Onee-chan? Where are you going?" to her, it's just a single blink of an eye before everything went into chaos. Her surroundings turned to ice and the right hooded figures turned into ice sculptures.

What fascinated her was how the humans nearby them were unharmed, thanks to her sister's control over her ice magic to the point of being capable of distinguishing between foe and friend.

Serafall slammed her palm on her big chest a few times and replied, "Don't worry, Onee-chan is just going to take care of something, okay?"

Without waiting for Sona to reply, Serafall was already marching towards Kenshin, who was leaning on one of the frozen shelves, whistling as if trying to pretend he was not doing what she thought he was doing.

"Hey," Serafall called out to him, no hint of joy or excitement on her face that could usually be seen on her face. She's dead serious this time.

The number one she hates the most is seeing her little sister, whom she dotes on the most, get hurt because of her.

"…" Kenshin didn't react, simply submerged in his own world of whistling and minding his own business.

No matter how hard you pretend, there's no normal human who wouldn't panic after seeing his surroundings get frozen into ice, Serafall's face twitched several times, she doesn't know whether to laugh or expose the man in front of her.

Having had enough of it, Serafall stretched her hand and slammed it beside Kenshin's head, colliding with the hard ice-covered shelf.

However, due to her short height, she looked awkward as her entire arm was stretched past the level of her head.

H-He's taller than he looks, she murmured, trying her best to ignore the embarrassment to get to her.

"Hmm?" Finally, Kenshin noticed her.

He then continued with a question, "Anything I can help you with?"

"…Are you still feigning ignorance or do you want to meet the same fate as them?" Despite the awkward positioning, she still tried to look serious.

Kenshin finally looked down on her, which just added to the awkwardness of the situation. If it wasn't for the fact that her little sister is staring at her right now, she would've bolted out of here in an instant.

However, as the older sister, it's her job to not only protect her little sister but also to look cool in front of her!

Are you watching me, Sona-tan? Hm! Hm! This is how you dominate your enemies, especially men! Just look at how speechless he is, A confident smirk crept up on her face as she muttered to herself.

"…If I tell you that I was just curious and I don't know any of those guys, would you believe me?" Kenshin finally replied while crossing his arms.

Instead of answering, Serafall pushed her head forward and upward, squinting her eyes at "Hmm…."

"Are you sure about that? If I discovered that you're with them…" Although she was just muttering, the amount of coldness she was releasing was biting Kenshin's skin.

Kenshin sighed. If he had known those attackers would attack at the same time as he was spying on this innocent-looking girl, he would've just minded his own business and enjoyed shopping with the girls.

"Well, if you say that the—" Just as Kenshin was about to reply, an interruption occurred in the form of a chant from a distance.

"….Five-Star Compact!"

That was the last thing Kenshin heard before a shimmering blue pyramid engulfed them, its blue transparent walls pressing on both Kenshin and Serafall.

"This!?" Even Serafall, accidentally let her guard down and didn't notice that someone was chanting a Sealing Magic spell.

I didn't detect them!? Kenshin quickly frowned. Usually, his magic senses that can detect presence are always active 24/7.

But now, for some weird reason, it didn't detect the presence of the two hooded figures that just landed in front of them.

"You!!" Serafall glared at the hooded figures and slowly mustered the immense demonic energy inside her, preparing to blast the Sealing pyramid into pieces.

"Don't bother destroying it. We know that you can that's why we prepared a countermeasure." One of the hooded figures immediately said, stopping Serafall's attempt.

He then gestured to his companion who turned back and quickly rushed towards Sona's position.

"No! Sona!" Serafall cried out and once again, she flared her demonic energy, attempting to release her devastating ice magic to freeze everything around her.

If something happened to her Sona-tan. Forget about getting the forgiveness of her parents, she wouldn't even be able to forgive herself!

The hooded figure simply snickered at this, "I may not look like it but I can hold you for at least a minute to buy my friend some time to kill your little sister, you don't want that to happen to her, don't you?"

Serafall froze on the spot, her brain unable to comprehend what decision she should make.

She can't risk it. No matter how strong she is or how cold her ice is, being fast isn't her specialty.

"And don't even think about using teleportation magic. I'm prepared and placed a space lock around the entire supermarket, you won't be able to teleport out of here!"

———

"Onee-chan!" Sona cried out as she tried to run towards her sister, only to be intercepted by the hooded figure.

"G-Get out of my way!" Sona gritted her teeth and placed herself in a fighting stance.

"Oohh~ how scary, a satan's sister is so scary." The hooded figure hugged his own body as he shivered, or at least pretended to be.

"SONAA!" Serafall slammed her fist on the translucent wall, causing it to tremble before regaining composure.

"Heh, those walls are designed to resist a full-powered punch from an Ultimate-class devil. You're not physically as strong as one, from what I know, only your water and ice magic made you one of those fake Satans!" Although the hooded man was simply explaining, just from hearing the venomous tone in his voice in the last few words, Serafall finally knew whom they belonged to.

"You…belong to the old Satan faction…" As the chief staff of intelligence in the Four Great Satan faction, Serafall is fully aware of their enemies and their status.

"Hmph." The man didn't answer, simply crossing his arms as he waited for Serafall to make her move.

"Hey." Suddenly, someone from inside the pyramid cage called out to him.

It was Kenshin, who had been quiet and observant since the sealing magic fell on them.

"Hm? Oh, it's just you. Don't blame me, human. You were just in the way. Be grateful I'm even keeping you alive for now. After all, we don't want Ms. Fake Satan here being bored now, do we?"

Kenshin shrugged his shoulders and curiously asked, feigning like a curious human who doesn't know what's good for him, "…Well, since there's no way for me to get out of this mess and I'm just going to die anyway, what's with the Fake Satan you kept throwing?"

"Heh, fine I'll entertain you. That woman you're standing with is a mere fake! A traitor to the real Satans! She doesn't deserve that title! Only someone of a Leviathan clan should bear that title!"

"Satans are the epitome of the devil hierarchy! They're the strongest beings in the entire world! A mere fake like her wouldn't understand such grace and simply ride on their glory!" The hooded figure clenched his fist as he threw accusation upon accusation towards Serafall, all while praising the said real Satans fanatically.

However, Kenshin's next question made the man unable to answer, forming a lump in his throat that prevented him from answering his question.

"I see….But what about the real Satans? What're they doing letting a fake Satan run around wearing their title, hmm?"

He was speechless. Of course, he's aware of what happened to the real Satans but after praising and treating them like they're the strongest supreme beings in the world, wouldn't it be ironic for him to tell this human that they're long dead?

Seeing that the man wasn't answering, Serafall, who was aware of the truth, held back a snort, resisting the urge to tell the truth herself. If her little sister wasn't in grave danger, she would've mocked them and their so-called real Satans who were simply just a bunch of warmongers.

Kenshin, on the other hand, felt something amiss. The hooded man wasn't answering anymore.

In the end, he was left with no choice but to make assumptions.

"Could it be they're just busy?" No reaction on the other side.

"Maybe they just don't know?" Still no reaction, the man had either completely forgotten about him or was trying his best to ignore him, which the latter is the truth.

"Or perhaps…they're dead." That was it. The moment he finished his sentence, he saw how the hooded man clenched his fists from the corner of his eyes.

Kenshin continued with a snort, "Heh. So they're actually dead. How ironic, and here I thought they were supposed to be the 'strongest' in the world.

That was the light in the fuse as the hooded man bolted forward and launched a punch towards Kenshin's face.

"Shut your mouth, you filthy human!"

Only for the barrier of the pyramid seal to block his punch.

BOOOM!

Unlike Serafall's lunch earlier which caused the walls to tremble, the hooded figure's punch didn't even do anything, no trembling of the barrier, much less a dent.

Kenshin remained calm, no panic in his eyes in the slightest. Only a grin was crawling up to his face, which gave both Serafall and the man a nagging feeling.

"So even you're unable to destroy the seal. Typical for those who barely know how to use sealing magic." Kenshin chuckled, shaking his head in disappointment.

"I'll tell you three things where you made a mistake." Kenshin raised his hand and then his index finger.

"First mistake. You only locked the space around the supermarket but not this pyramid."

Followed by raising his middle finger next, "Second mistake. You just showed me that even you're unable to punch through this pyramid." Finally, he raised his ring finger.

"Last but not least, you just stood there instead of fixing your first mistake that I just mentioned." As soon as he finished his words, Kenshin cast a familiar space spell.

"[Transfer!]"

———

"Get away!" Sona gritted her teeth and launched another wave of water tsunami, large enough to fully engulf a 2nd-story house.

However, her opponent simply raised his hand and pierced through the tsunami unharmed.

"Stop resisting, Sona-tan~" The hooded opponent grinned as he imitated the way Serafall calls her little sister.

"Don't call me that…" Sona's face turned dark, she felt disgusted being called like that by someone like him.

Only her big sister has the right for it but for some reason, the moment her opponent called her the same, she started to feel disgusted by the nickname altogether.

"Hoya? You don't want to be called Sona-tan~ heh, you're a cute kid, did someone tell you that?" Inside his hood, the man licked his lips and blinked.

"Seriously? I've never heard someone call me that, bro why are you gay?"

A single blink and the black-haired girl was gone and standing in her place was an unfamiliar-looking man, looking at him in disgust.

"I'm serious, I don't swing that way. I didn't expect terrorists today to be gay. Wait, I sound a bit homophobic…"

"Y-Y-You!?" The man couldn't believe his eyes.

What happened? One moment he was standing in front of the fake Satan's sister and just the blink of an eye, she turned into a man.

Unbeknownst to him, it was Kenshin, who cast the Transfer spell just in time as the figure blinked his eyes.

Kenshin grinned and pointed his thumb towards himself, "That's right! You were expecting a little girl but it was me! I was the one you called a cute girl, you fucking gay pedophile!"
