His body shook terribly with doubts, and so many thoughts filled his head. What if he failed in marking Ryn as he should and, in that process, hurt him? Or maybe his mark wasn't as beautiful as Sylas's. He wanted it to be perfect, better than Sylas's, so when he saw it, he would be pissed and realize that he was superior.
"What's wrong?" Ryn asked.
"He must have sensed his uneasiness, "Kael thought as his eyes met Ryn's. The last thing he wanted was to make Ryn worry about him.
"You are shaking. Is everything alright?"Ryn's soft voice brought him out of his thoughts.
"I…" Kael stuttered, and he almost cursed at himself.
How could he stutter like an idiot in such a situation? That was unlike him.
He had never had any reason to stutter unless it was Ryn. That was a weakness, but he didn't care as long as it wasn't anyone else.
