"You may now exchange the rings." As the priest says, the duo exchange their rings.
"You may now kiss the bride." As these words leave the priest's lips, Jennifer freezes in her place. As Tan removes her veil, she tightly closes her eyes, but opens them after feeling Tan's lips touch her forehead like a rose petal. Everyone starts cheering after the priest says, "I announce you both husband and wife."
Everyone, one by one, comes forward, hands them gifts and congratulates them on the new beginning of their life.
"Brother, you got married even before me, so how does it feel?" Aiden says, smiling mischievously.
"Oh please! You are getting married next month only," Tan says, rolling his eyes.
"How dare you roll your eyes at your older brother? Oh my God!" Aiden says, shaking his head, side to side. "Anyways, I am going to meet my fiance, you also go and enjoy your first night," Aiden says and winks.
"What the hell?" Tan shakes his head and goes towards Jennifer, who was talking to Mia.
"Oh see, who finally got time to meet his wife?" Mia says, mockingly. "OK, by the way, what should I call you, sir or brother-in-law?" Mia says, raising her brows.
"Whatever you like, sister-in-law," Tan says, smiling at her.
"Oh God! Am I dreaming? Or did you really smile?" Mia says, as her eyes widen in shock.
"Excuse me, I smile too. I am not always grumpy, like you guys say. What did you think, I wouldn't know? I know everything," Tan says, raising his head with pride.
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever." Mia says, rolling her eyes, and just then she sees Jennifer standing there, and listening to her husband's and best friend's banter. Mia laughs awkwardly and says, "Sorry babe, I forgot, he was here for you."
"Yeah, you surely did."
"OK, let's go home," Tan says, clearing his throat.
"Yeah, you guys should go," Mia says and bids goodbye to both of them.
They both bid goodbye to everyone and leave for their home, the house which was just Tan's yesterday. Now it's Jennifer's too.
Time skip, 30 minutes later :-
Tan got out from the car and opened the door for Jennifer. She got out from the car and followed Tan. They both entered his house. Pretty cool. Totally different from his personality.
"Let's go! I will show you our bedroom." Finally, after 30 minutes, Tan spoke. "Wait 'our'?" Jennifer thought. "Don't we have separate bedrooms?" She asked him. "I think we are married now. Do husband and wife have separate rooms?" he said in a cold, nice tone and started walking. "Back to his old nature, always so cold, like an iceberg, and now I have to tolerate this for my whole life. But, I'll try my best to make him smile, because he can live being boring, but, I cant live being bored." Jennifer thought, walking and looking at the walking away Tan.
They entered a big room. "You can shower first." He said and pointed towards a door. Jennifer unpacked her luggage, kept beside the wardrobe and went to take shower.
"After a long tiring day, it's my best part. This warm bath is taking all the worries away and I finally feel fresh. I was literally feeling like I will sleep while standing in my own marriage. But, there's a question still roaming in my brain. Why did he suddenly agree to marry me? I mean, i know i am very pretty, but, he can't possibly fall in love with me. Anyways, i am too lovable."
After taking a hot shower, she went to the bedroom and started unpacking another things, as Tan went to take shower. After finishing she laid down on the bed and started scrolling through her phone.
"You should sleep it's pretty late." Jennifer was too engrossed in using her phone, that she flinched as she heard his voice. 'He already finished?' Jennifer thought.
She put her phone to charge. And slept with her back facing him. He slept beside her that made her shift to the side. Never in her life did she ever slept with a man except her dad and her brother. Even though, she stays beside him whole day, she still can't digest the fact that they are married and are sharing one roof, one room and one bed.
Next morning :-
Jennifer woke up from the sound of her alarm ringing. As she opened her eyes, her eyes widened, because she was hugging Tan's right arm. She took a glance of his face. "Thank God he is not awake" Jennifer thought.
She quickly freed his arm from her grip. And went to the kitchen to make breakfast for him. She made breakfast and was going to place it on the dining table, but then she saw a figure dressed in a formal office outfit, scrolling through his phone.
He folded the sleeves that made him look more handsome.
She placed the dishes on the table and greeted him with a bright smile. "Good morning!" He nodded in response. "Mr. Williams, you do know that you should reply when someone greets you, right?"
"Good morning, Ms. Jennifer, is that okay now?" Tan replies mockingly.
"Yeah, now enjoy the breakfast I made for you." Jennifer says, serving him his breakfast.
"I just hope, I stay alive after eating this. Oh God! Show mercy and let me live." Tan says, joining his hands, as if he is praying to God.
"Why are you so overdramatic?" Jennifer huffs.
He started eating and Jennifer was waiting for him to finish so he can give her a compliment for her food. He finished his food and she was looking at him with hope in her eyes.
"Ok. I will leave now." He said with an expressionless face.
"Where do you think you are going? Wait for me. I will also come." Jennifer says, making him stop in his place. "Don't take too long."
It took Jennifer about 10 minutes, to get ready. As soon as, she stepped out the house, locking the door, Tan said, "I thought, you will take forever." Saying this, he started walking towards his car, followed by Jennifer.
"Excuse me, I woke up before you. I got all ready before only, I even prepared breakfast for you, be grateful, okay."
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever."
15 minutes later, they were in front of there office building. Before Jennifer could step out, she was stopped by Tan, holding her wrist.
"Don't let anyone know about our marriage." Tan says and leaves her wrist.
"Yeah, i know about that, we talked about this before marriage only, remember?"
Jennifer says, reminding him of the day before their marriage. "And i also don't want anyone to know about this, i don't wanna be in the limelight. Especially, in your assistant's eyes."
Saying this, Jennifer walks away leaving Tan behind. He just huffs and walks towards his office. Everyone greets him, as they come across him, and he, as always just nodded in response. Jennifer who was waiting for lift, sighs looking at him. Tan sees her waiting for lift, so he quickly goes towards her and takes her towards the escalator, he got installed in his building especially for her.
"From now on, use this." Tan says. Jennifer looks at him dumbfounded and says, "That's nice of you Mr. Williams. You got this installed for me."
"Thank you for your compliment, Mrs. Williams." Tan says, winking and goes upstairs using the escalator.
Listening to his words, Jennifer's heart skipped a beat. Mia, who was seeing all this from the reception, came towards her and tapped her shoulder, and said, "Oh God! You look like a tomato."
Jennifer, startled by her best friend's sudden voice says, "Oh God! Mia, you startled me."
"Oh, of course you got startled, after all, you were lost in your newly wedded husband's thoughts." Mia says, teasingly. "By the way, how was your first night with him?"
Jennifer glares at her and says, "you do know that this is an arrange marriage, right?"
"Yeah, yeah. I know. I get it there's no tea to be spilled." Mia says, and walks towards the escalator holding Jennifer's hand. "Now, let's use your husband's love for you." Mia says, winking.
"What the hell? Mia, i won't leave you."
"First catch me." Mia says, and climbed up the escalator stairs.
