Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Demon King versus Angelic King

——————Narrator——————

A race that resides in the deepest surface of the world, the demons.

A race that resides on the highest surface of the world, the angels.

The hopes of ever reaching such depth or such heights are impossible for humans. That is why humans have little to no information about them.

There are cases where humans have seen or encountered them but not so often that the assumptions they create cannot be farther than the truth.

Angels, due to their natural convenient appearance that appeals to the eyes have given humans a reason to regard them with the highest respect. Humans perceive them as the most sacred race.

While in contrast, the humans see the demons as the most vile race and are treated with no respect due to their perceived inconvenient appearances.

On the highest surface of the world exists a kingdom named Embrea.

Structured with a white-gold aesthetic, air that brings vanity, it is the perfect place to be called heaven.

A meeting that is currently happening at the same time Lester and the demons are having their meeting.

In the room that has twenty one chairs, the meeting of the angels begins right now.

From his left while sat on the throne, sits some of the members of the virtues.

First chair on his left sits Sarone. An angel who has the skill [Charity], that can replicate anything she wants.

Next to Sarone, Matthias. An angel who has the skill [Chastity], that can boost one's immunity against negative statuses.

The third person is Poltar, an angel who has the skill [Diligence], that allows him to see visions of the future.

His right side sits the remaining members of the virtues.

Varlet. An angel whose skill allows her to copy the fighting style of her opponents. Possessor of the skill [Humility] and the only angel who doesn't have the common appearance traits of an angel.

Gerard. The angel responsible for creating indestructible barriers thanks to his skill [Kindness].

Feraris. An angel whose skill [Temperance] allows him to fuse or separate physical matter. He can even use his skill to fuse individuals together.

Bela. Possessor of the skill [Patience] which grants her the ability to teleport herself or others.

"Why have you gathered us, Poltar? Lukas asked, also known as the Angelic King.

"My king, I saw a vision." Poltar, the initiator of the meeting, replied.

"A vision, huh? What did you see this time? I know not to ignore the visions you see." Lukas spoke.

"It's the death of the demon king, by your hands and your sword. That is the vision I saw." Poltar replied.

"I always thought that killing the demon king was pointless, but now with a good reason, I shall." Lukas said, determined.

"We'll attack the demon kingdom the day after tomorrow, I want all of you to prepare yourselves. We won't be needing an army to kill the demon king." Lukas ordered the virtues.

"I've finally been given a purpose. A skill that allows someone to see a vision that leads to a promising future. I don't even have that skill." Lukas spoke in his head.

"For all my life, I have been given a role in this world but never a purpose. I know I shouldn't say this but I wish someone would kill me." Lukas added.

"Let's see if your death shall bring me purpose." Lukas spoke in his mind, determined.

——————End Narration——————

After two hours, I was able to initiate a meeting with Klaus and the sin generals.

I wanted to brief them with the plan because we don't know when the angels are going to attack and if there's a chance that they're going to wage a war, we should be very prepared.

I tried asking World's Voice if I could get a skill that could somehow tell when the angels are going to attack but no luck.

This war had me overthinking from left to right. I usually over think for myself so it was a bad thing but this involves so many people so I guess this was a pretty good situation to overthink.

After briefing them all, they were extremely concerned for my safety but I reassured them that I'll be fine. I had to reassure them, especially Klaus, he seemed extremely concerned for me but I just told him to trust me then hugged him. He cried after I hugged him, knowing his status and the time he had been sealed, I doubt he'd been hugged for a while.

The meeting ended shortly after.

{Notice. There is an unfamiliar presence approaching.}

Panic went straight to my head and immediately told Klaus and the seven and hurried over outside to see the unfamiliar presence.

Through my enhanced sense of sight, I could see some people. An angel of majestic white wings, long white hair, golden eyes, the one in front of many. That must be the Angelic King.

There's only eight of them, the Angelic King at the front leading the seven. This scene looks cool if seen in a third person perspective.

The angels are looking down while the demons are looking up. Wait! What the heck am I thinking???

Each of the sins are a moral counterpart for each of the virtues so the seven in the angelic king's back must be the seven heavenly virtues as the demon king has seven deadly sins as his generals.

Never really was a fan of religion but learning it was almost interesting for me, plus my family is religious so I couldn't escape this kind of stuff.

How did they get here though? Spatial Magic? I hope I get that too, I'm lazy and don't like to travel because of motion sickness.

But... Why are there only eight of them? If you're waging a war against a kingdom, shouldn't you bring an army with you?

There wasn't time to think about it. Luckily before going out here, I instructed Klaus and the seven to stay inside the castle because it is crucial for the plan I made.

With the hopes of talking with them properly, I flew until the angelic king and I matched our eye levels.

"What are you doing here?" I firmly asked him.

"I'm here to kill you," he replied.

"Declaring to kill me yet you don't have an army?" I questioned him.

"Yes. I'm only here to kill you, not your people. So an army was unnecessary." he reasoned.

That's weird. His statement feels weirdly logical.

"What happens if you kill me? Would you leave this kingdom alone after?" I asked.

"Leave you alone?" he answered, puzzled.

"Yes. You said you're not going to kill my people alone, so it would make sense for you to leave right after you kill me." I responded.

This conversation is highly convenient for me. There's a hidden reason why he's willing to talk first instead of actually just doing it. Probably shouldn't overthink right now.

"That sounds reasonable. As a king of the angels, I promise you that." he gently promised.

"Thank you for your promise. And for that, I want you to do exactly what you came here to do." I replied, calm.

He was confused at first. He then signalled the seven at his back. The seven each instantly became a large orb of light and was directed towards him.

I later became informed that they were fused into the angelic king. Confirmed by him himself.

"I am the Virtuous King," he declared.

By fusing with the seven, he became the pinnacle of virtue hence the name "Virtuous King."

With a look of determination, his hand equipped a sword, a broad sword made with light and embedded with holy elements.

In a blink, he teleported in front of me, his sword plunged onto my chest. I hadn't realized it was there because of my pain nullification skill.

"Thank you for our prosperous future," he whispered.

"I wished you would have retaliated and fought me. I wanted you to kill me." he whispered again.

"I don't want to fight you nor kill you, and I doubt Klaus would either." I revealed my true face.

Shocked by my true voice and my true face, he backed away and pulled the sword out of my body.

His sword left a hole through my clothes as well as my body but was quickly regenerated by my skills.

"Who are you?" he replied, shocked.

"I'm Lester, a friend of Klaus, the demon king." I said as I revealed my true self.

My plan was to turn into Klaus and receive the sword that'll kill him and adapt to it using my pride skill. The plan worked, thankfully.

"You must be wondering where the real demon king is but I assure you that won't be able to find him nor find him without going through me first." I told him.

"Let me be your servant!" he exclaimed out of nowhere then knelt in front of me.

"What... What are you doing? You can't be my servant. I'm a child and you're a king." I informed him.

"I refuse to be rejected. I will use my power and my army to attack this kingdom if I am not your servant." he proposed while kneeling.

This proposal seems oddly familiar but I can't place it...

"I won't let you become a servant of mine, but if you become a friend of mine then would you promise not to attack the people in this kingdom?" I counter proposed.

"Of course. Master." he accepted, happily.

{A soul connection has been made.}

Gosh! You do that out of nowhere, can you do that later, World's Voice?

{Yes. Putting skill effects on hold when told.}

Deja vu... Yeah, that's right! The same thing happened but with Klaus. I wonder why the kings in this world are so stubborn. I'm just a child! Well, there's no point in arguing about it, I'll just exert unnecessary energy if I do so.

After our conversation, he introduced himself, I asked him about something then instructed him to wait for me.

I flew down and gathered Klaus and the sins so that they could meet Lukas.

At first, the seven were reluctant to meet him, but I assured them that he won't be doing anything bad against Klaus. Klaus didn't have anything to say about meeting him, though. I guess he's fine with it because Lukas hadn't actually done things against him.

Thanks to this situation, I was able to see the sevens' wings and confirmed that they are not unique to them.

There was no introduction, only silent gazes. Thirty seconds later, Lukas teleported all of us from here to the meeting room located in Lukas' castle at the angelic kingdom.

Lukas informed me that the seven virtues are fused with him and during that state, their skills can be used by Lukas but cannot hear or feel so he had so I had to be the one to convince them because Lukas told me he didn't have that good enough reason for the virtues.

The meeting had to be done properly so we had to leave the meeting room for a minute so that Lukas could separate himself from the virtues and explain that we'll be here.

Two minutes passed and the doors opened for us by the maids. I was able to quickly observe the aesthetic of this castle and it looked the same as the demon king's, just in a different color, white-gold, instead of red-black.

A long chair table greeted us. Lukas stood by the left side of the main chair while the seven virtues sat on the left side.

Upon entering the room, I could feel their silent yet cautious gazes on us. We walked up to the chairs and began to sit. I was told by Lukas to sit at the main chair, I refused at first but was pressured by Klaus too so I had no choice but to sit. I hate being the center of attention, maybe it's a good thing for this situation though.

I initiated the start of the meeting with an introduction. Klaus and the sins first introduced themselves, then Lukas. The virtues hesitated to comply but were insisted by Lukas so they complied.

"This meeting is about the two kingdoms, joining together as friends." I announced.

"We understand. The seven of us only have three questions. Can our questions be heard and answered?" Poltar calmly stated.

This is a different scenario from what I was expecting... I thought they would have challenged me into a duel like the sins did but guess not. Maybe the questions are extremely hard? I'll do my best to answer!

"Of course. Ask away." I replied in relief.

"Thank you." he thanked me. "The first question is why would the angels and demons join together as friends?", "The second question is why is the presence of the demons in this room familiar?", "The last question is what are you?" He listed all the questions.

Really? That's all their question? That sounds easy to answer but I hope they'll find it enough.

"I see. My answer to your question is that both Klaus, the demon king, and Lukas, the angelic king are my friends, it just makes sense that they should be friends." I answered the first question.

"My answer for the second question is simple. The demons in this room are sacred demons, a species of demons who have an affinity for the holy element. You can say they're partially angels hence the familiarity of their presence." I answered the second question.

"I'm just a human child." I answered the last question.

After hearing my answers, they are pretty shocked to learn that the demons were not normal ones but sacred ones.

"Are you all satisfied with my answers?" I asked the seven virtues.

"Yes, we are." Poltar answered on behalf of the seven.

They seemed visibly content about my answers and that gave me relief. I wondered about one thing though.

"I see. You seemed visibly surprised to learn that demons are naturally adept to the holy element. If all of you would like, I could do the same thing with all of you angels." I offered them.

The virtues were extremely shocked that their decorum faltered for a moment. Was it really that surprising? It's just casting a barrier...

{Notice. Process of the skill's effects are recommended to begin now.}

Alright. Do it.

{Attempting to acquire skills...} {Success.}

{Skills [Strength Conversion], [Sacred Sword], [Magic Resistance], [Judgment], and [Enhanced Strength] have been acquired.}

{Attempting to acquire magic...} {Failed.} {No new available magic is acquirable.}

{Attempting to acquire race...} {Success.} {Superior angel race has been acquired.}

{Acquiring intrinsic skills...}

{Intrinsic skills [Sacred Body], [Angelic Eyes], [Angelic King's Aura], and [Brightness] have been acquired.}

{Acquisition of intrinsic skills has been completed.}

{Acquiring mana...} {Success.}

{Process has been completed.}

I got more new skills. I guess I'm an angel now?

{An integration process can be triggered.} {Permission is automatically granted.} {Proceed now?}

That'll take long so let's put a pause on it for right now.

I felt my mana capacity expanding and my mana expanded. I did the same thing to the kingdom of angels the same thing I did to the demon kingdom.

Instead of a holy element attribute, it's a dark element attribute.

{Notice. All affected angels have evolved into Dark Angels.} {Notice. Lukas has evolved into a Superior Dark Angel.}

Nice. I assume their skills are also evolving. Let's check.

Lukas evolved his [Strength Conversion] into [Mana Surge], an enhanced version, [Sacred Sword into [Chaos Blade], a sword made of both dark and holy elemental properties, [Magic Resistance] into [Magic Nullification]. His intrinsic skill [Sacred Body] turned into [Dark Sacred Body].

Hmm...

[Grand Charity], two subskills: [Replication] - a skill that can replicate any physical matter; and [Replica Manipulation] - a skill that allows grand control over replicated matter.

[Impenetrable Kindness], three subskills: [Barrier Creation] - a skill that can create indestructible barriers; [Sanctuary's Embrace] - a togglable skill that can heal and restore stamina to anyone inside it; and [Sanctuary's Grasp] - a skill that binds anyone inside acting as a prison.

[Silent Humility], three subskills: [Perfect Echo] - a skill that can perfectly mimic fighting styles of any individual; [Complete Stealth] - a skill that nullifies any sound made from movement; and [Enhanced Speed] - a skill that enhances speed.

[Absolute Diligence], three subskills: [Future's Light] - a vision of an event that results of a promising future; [Endless Momentum] - a skill that increases strength and speed when continuous attacks are achieved; and [Fast Growth] - a skill that speeds up growth.

[Endless Temperance], two subskills: [Synthesis] - an enhanced and advanced version of fusion; and [Severance] - an enhanced and advanced version of separation.

[Perfect Chastity], five subskills: [Mark of Purity] - a skill that nullifies negative status; [Mark of Haste] - a skill that enhances speed; [Mark of Strength] - a skill that enhances strength; [Mark of Regeneration] - a skill that improves regenerative skills; and [Mark of Restriction] - a skill that binds an individual wrapping them in a chain made of light. These skills can be given to other people, while there aren't limitations to how many people he can give it to, he needs to have a large capacity of mana to maintain the given marks.

[Compassionate Patience], two subskills: [Instant Teleportation] - a skill of teleportation without any delay; [Shared Teleportation] - a skill that allows multiple people to teleport.

Incredible skills. They don't have other skills though, just their virtue-based skills, but same goes for the demons, they only have their sin-based skills. Do you know why, World's Voice?

{Answer cannot be found.}

It was worth a try, hehe.

After their evolution, the virtues got up and knelt, the sins also followed. I was surprised that they knelt because why would they do that? I turned my head around to see, only to find that Klaus and Lukas were also kneeling.

I shyly told them to stand, I also requested them to give me some time alone, Klaus and Lukas were supposed to be included but they were pretty stubborn so I told them they could stay in the meeting room with me.

I just needed alone time so that I could begin the integration process, it's weird doing it in front of someone.

Alright! Being the integration process!

{Integrating possible skills...} {Success.}

{Superior skills [Magic Strength] and [Strength Conversion] have integrated into supreme skill [Dual Conversion].}

{Common skills [Justice] and [Judgment] have integrated into special skill [Truthseeker].}

{Attempting to integrate skills [Charity], [Chastity], [Diligence], [Temperance], [Patience], [Kindness], and [Humility]...} {Failed.}

{Sacrificing skill [Enhanced Strength] to achieve integration...} {Failed.}

{Sacrificing skill [Enhanced Strength] and intrinsic skills [Darkness] and [Brightness] to achieve integration...} {Success.}

{Supreme skill [Virtue Bound] has been acquired.}

{Attempting to integrate races...} {Success.}

{Unique race Chaos Human has been acquired.}

{Dissolving demon form...} {Success.}

{Infusing demonic and angelic properties in preexisting human form...} {Success.}

{Integrating intrinsic skills...} {Success.}

{Intrinsic skills [Chaos Vessel], [Chaos Senses], [Chaos Perception], and [Chaos Resonance] have been acquired.}

Chaos Vessel is a highly improved regeneration skill that can instantly restore limbs, it also acts as a defensive skill that makes my flesh highly durable.

Chaos Senses is an extremely enhanced version of enhanced senses. It boosts my senses to a powerful level. The skill also provides a faster thought process which means World's Voice can do the process and it'll be in an instant.

Chaos Perception is an advanced and improved analysis eyes that can accurately determine other people's mana and strength.

Chaos Resonance, a skill that emits powerful aura, an aura possessing both coercive and compassionate properties.

Wow! These skills look powerful. Or not? I can't compare my power to others without basis or a logical foundation for it.

My body does feel strong... And my mana capacity felt like it just expanded again, but I don't know by how much.

I have way too many skills to learn... I'm more of a magic kind of person so why am I getting so many skills! Well... Can't complain, it's better to have them and not need them than not have them when I need them.

I asked Klaus and Lukas if they knew where the humans were, and told me that they haven't even been there, and said it was wasteful to travel to the human realm.

Lukas referred Bela to me, informing me that she had been there once. They were giving signs of secrecy and I didn't want to pressure them so I didn't want to know. My people pleasing personality trumps my curious personality.

Bela offered to teleport me there to the human realm because I expressed an interest in going there. Klaus and Lukas didn't want to be left behind so I brought them along.

I guess my adventure starts now. Not that it hadn't started, being in the human realm just makes sense for me.
