For Yato, it was as if ancient holy signs were appearing before his eyes.
That figure descending from the sky stood amidst the storm. The lightning on his body dispelled the gloom of the demon wasps, reflecting the purple electric light in the sky. His figure appeared and disappeared within the white mist, as if breathing.
At this moment, it was as if time itself slowed its pace.
He himself wore a silver-red Cloth imbued with raging azure winds, his feet stepping on the body of a demon star, light circling in his hands. He was truly the embodiment of a legendary warrior found only in murals. Yet his features were obscured, his eyes reflecting the world's red, making him appear like an avenging villain.
The Atomic Thunder Bolt, belonging to Sagittarius, propelled with full force by Seiya's hands.
This blinding light, piercing the sky, cleared the gloom-ridden sky of the ephemeral legion, but its true target was the black-haired man seated on the spiral stone pillar. The purple lightning once again collided with platinum lightning, as Pandora, like a shadow, once more floated before Alone, blocking this fatal attack for him.
At this moment, the Saints immediately felt the crushing pressure, which had been like a desperate plight, lighten significantly, as the vast majority of the burden was now borne by this warrior who had suddenly appeared.
"Tenma?"
Shion did not recognize the warrior before him, but as he looked at the figure's back, he found the Cloth familiar. However, the raging azure winds surrounding the figure made him unable to be certain. But no matter who he was, that formidable Cosmo told him that the person was definitely not an enemy.
Pandora's reaction to the appearance of the Saint was, however, completely opposite.
"Insolent fool! Even if you were once Lord Hades' closest friend, you cannot repeatedly offend his divine visage like this!" Pandora's fury burned even hotter than Seiya's. "Only Hell awaits you!"
Purple lightning enveloped the earth. When the light dissipated, twelve Specters had already gathered at King Hades Alone's side, like an impenetrable bastion, shielding him from all harm.
However, Seiya's gaze never lingered on Pandora. His eyes swept past the Specters, past Pandora, fixed on the black-haired man embraced by the purgatorial flames: "Even if bewitched by that damned God of Sleep, or seeing through the true faces of those hypocrites, why, why did you kill all our friends who grew up with us since childhood?! Answer me, Alone!"
Seiya couldn't ascertain his current special state, but from the first signs of unease, all the way to arriving at this City of Purgatory, witnessing the dilapidated streets, the charred figures—Seiya could even call out their names.
Kaguya, who grew up with Tenma and Alone since childhood, the children from the orphanage, the bakery auntie who often gave Tenma bread when he was hungry, the foul-mouthed but kind-hearted artisan uncle, the neighbors in the village—all of them had, at this moment, turned into imprints burned onto the walls in this purgatory.
Pandora frowned deeply, but Alone smiled and raised his hand, gesturing for her to step aside.
His black robes, stirred by the scorching wind, resembled a magnificent cluster amaryllis in bloom. Despite his condescending gaze of scrutiny, the way he looked at Tenma was one of equality.
"Can't you see, Tenma?"
"See what?" Seiya frowned.
"Their happy appearance. Only the souls of the innocent can pass through the Gate of Death and reach the Elysian Fields of memory."
Alone smiled and extended his hand towards Tenma: "As you know, death is salvation. Just because they were my friends, people who grew up with me since childhood, should they be treated differently?"
But a strong wind, imbued with this purgatory, brushed his hand aside.
A retort!
Seiya lowered his gaze; at this moment, his heart held no further hesitation.
"Then I won't hold back either. If Alone, Tenma's dearest friend, is already dead, then this duty of slaying gods shall be borne by me!"
He took a step forward, and with this single step, the entire boiling city trembled. Alone, still smiling, remained guarded by the Specters. At this moment, the clash between human and human, human and God, and God and God had already begun.
"I won't allow you to linger beside Lord Hades any longer, Heavenly Violent Star Bennu Bird Kagaho!"
The Specter, clad in black wings, descended from the sky, guarding Alone before the light could reach him. He looked with an intensely hateful gaze at the Saint who had repeatedly challenged Lord Hades' glory.
"—Violet Night, Black Sky Wind!!"
Seiya didn't move, because spiraling upwards behind him, continuously strengthening stardust fragments rose to meet the sun's dazzling light.
"—Stardust Revolution!!!"
The one who struck was Aries Gold Saint Shion. Two powerful forces collided, and the shockwave billowed Alone's robes, searing Seiya's Cloth. In both their eyes, there was no one else but each other.
At this moment, an overwhelming aura of intimidation bore down upon the Specters guarding Alone.
Completely unable to comprehend why a mere Saint would possess such a terrifying aura, in their vision, Tenma raised his hand and spoke to the sky and the Specters: "Prepare to enter Hell."
"Stop acting arrogant, Saint!" Kagaho was burning with rage, his wings behind him swirling wildly, drawing in the surrounding atmosphere. In an instant, a star rose behind him: "Black Sky Wind—Swift Wind!"
But the next instant, crimson wings, similar to his own, almost like a reflection, unfolded behind Seiya.
It was also wings, also swift wind, also the power of the Sun Wheel's light, appearing from Seiya's hands. With an attack speed faster than Kagaho's, he unleashed a combat technique befitting this hellish scene: Sun's Radiance Heavenly Soar!
Kagaho, descending from the sky, met this sun rising from the earth. Kagaho's solar dust was absorbed and endured by Seiya. However, Seiya's radiance quickly engulfed the Specter before him. They could no longer stand by idly; the Specters guarding Alone understood implicitly in a fraction of a second, and then leaped into action!
But it was at this very moment that the purgatorial flames of the entire city, all the guilty souls, converged around Seiya in the center, taking the form of fire.
Shion slowly raised his hand, reaching out to touch the fire sparks filling the sky. There was no heat, in fact, it made him feel warmth.
But for the Specters, it was even more like falling into Hell than a simple flame attack. The karmic flames that swept across the entire city, representing the evil deeds they had committed as Specters, devoured them in the form of a heaven-reaching tornado.
Kagaho felt his sternum crack. In the flames, he was struck by a spinning kick imbued with star fragments, yet this Saint, who defied gods, did not press his advantage against him. Disregarding his bodily pain, he anxiously searched for the other's whereabouts.
"Bastard! Stop right there!" Kagaho watched the figure in the sky with wide eyes; he had already appeared before Alone.
Seiya looked at Alone, who was smiling serenely before him. He knew there were still guardian forces around the other, and he knew his attack couldn't kill him. But no matter what, he had to inflict the same bone-deep, unforgettable pain upon him!
