"But you, your brown pupils, when pierced by the setting sun's light, reveal a red more vibrant and radiant than any other. Pegasus."
No, that's completely wrong.
A surging consciousness rippled through Seiya's mind like thunder. These lines were too familiar. Suddenly, Seiya realized a crucial problem.
It was the Saint Seiya world, that much was true.
He had indeed arrived in the Saint Seiya world. But this voice, these lines... they weren't from the main SS storyline.
At that moment, a voice from the distant past echoed in his ears, as if a deep, secluded night wind connected Seiya's thoughts with unseen time. From the darkness beyond, someone spoke into his ear.
The voice said, "Pegasus. I have always believed that whether it's the rich in the town or us, the children of the orphanage, one day everyone will be able to understand each other..."
"The strength of humanity exists to extend a helping hand to those who struggle in the abyss of misery."
Suddenly, it felt as if lightning coursed through Seiya's brain. A scene, like mist blown away by the wind, unfolded before his eyes:
A bright, sunny afternoon. In front of a simple stone house, he and a boy who dreamed of becoming a painter sat inside, promising each other that once they became Saints, they would return to finish the incomplete painting.
This promise would span both their lives, becoming a scar that this era could never erase.
As pain transmitted from his body to his brain, as life and that hand slowly withdrew from his chest, Seiya lowered his head, looking at the young, black-haired priest before him. The priest gently rested Seiya's head on his shoulder, yet his hand cruelly pierced through his chest.
"What's your name?" Seiya looked at the black-haired priest before him.
"Alone, your best friend, Alone." The black-haired priest gently patted Seiya's back.
"Just consider it a nightmare, Pegasus. When you wake up again, whether rich or poor, everyone will be able to understand each other with fairness and gentleness."
Of course, the way to understand each other was death.
To grant everyone equal death.
Night fell, thunder rumbled. Along with the lightning came heavy, iron-dark clouds.
"It wouldn't be good if the painting got wet, would it?" Alone withdrew his hand from Pegasus's lifeless chest.
The blood of his closest friend, that incomparable red, made Alone smile. Then he lightly smeared it onto the unfinished painting.
"What do you think of this painting?" Alone tilted his head back.
"Beautiful, incomparably beautiful. No matter what kind of sinner, when they see this painting, they will repent for their sins, shedding tears from the bottom of their hearts. Such a magical painting."
The responder was a woman in a black dress, descending with the lightning. Though she was evaluating the painting, her gaze, from beginning to end, was lovingly and obsessively fixed on Alone before her.
Alone put away the painting. His most important task upon returning home was to kill Pegasus, his closest friend from his former human life, and another close friend, Sasha.
As for towns and villages, rich or poor, good or bad people, or friends—all would be given the most equal blessing.
"Let's go, Pandora. The most important thing has been done," Alone looked out at the world at the foot of the mountain.
"Now it's time to complete our new world."
Pandora always only obeyed Alone's requests. She followed behind him, walking down towards the foot of the mountain.
But just then, a howling strong wind came from behind. As if pushing open the door to another world, the strong wind brought an ancient, solemn power.
Lightning once again tore through the sky, its platinum-gold radiance illuminating the dark earth in an instant.
"Don't get ahead of yourself. Did I say you could leave, Alone!"
At this moment, the Saints moving through the forest suddenly stopped.
They had originally been ordered to investigate the possible resurrection of Hades here. Although they had not yet seen the true face of Hades, the endless Specters already proved that the Goddess's senses were true.
A new Holy War was about to begin, and Hades had truly revived!
But just at this moment, they looked up at the lightning that tore through the gloomy night sky. Its light illuminated the earth in an instant.
"This Cosmo, Shion, you felt it, didn't you?" The Libra Saint Dohko, leading the team, lowered his voice.
"Yes, a radiance similar to Sisyphus, but with such powerful presence and aura, could it be him?" The Aries Saint Shion sensed even more information.
A completely unknown entity erupted with an extraordinary Cosmo, seemingly in fierce battle with an opponent, while at the foot of the mountain on the other side, it was already engulfed in a sea of flames.
The fallen towns, the fallen villages, the suffering people... For a moment, the Saints didn't know whether they should fulfill the duty given by the Goddess and investigate the possible existence of Hades, or go to fight the Specters and rescue the suffering people.
But compared to the meticulous Aries Shion, Libra Dohko was more hot-blooded.
"You take the Silver and Bronze Saints and hurry on! I'm going to see what exactly is going on!"
Without waiting for Shion's reply, Dohko erupted in brilliant golden light and sped towards the distant, turbulent aura.
Light permeated the air, as the magnificent golden radiance and the purple lightning collided, twisting into a grand atomic lightning bolt, surging out indiscriminately in all directions, without regard for targets.
"Masaka, how could this be?" Pandora showed a hint of surprise.
Just as she reacted and immediately rushed towards Alone, the new generation's Hades's human vessel, had already waved his hand. The Cosmo belonging to Hades had already blocked all the attacks for him.
Two completely different, even diametrically opposed, Cosmos collided at this moment. Alone's robe swayed, revealing golden edges.
"Pegasus, you shouldn't have gotten up." Alone's gaze was still gently fixed on Pegasus before him, but he was equally shocked by the power his closest friend had erupted with.
"I clearly gave you Hades's rest; you should have slept peacefully there..."
"Sleep your ass off! This level of fatal wound can't kill me."
Seiya clutched his now non-bleeding chest. The Authority belonging to Melqart, the Covenant of Decay and Revival, was vigorously repairing his wounds.
However, a shattered heart was not fatal to Seiya; what was truly fatal was the Hades's deathly power that entwined around his chest.
But no matter what the injury, he cast it aside. Seiya coldly sneered, pointing at his own head:
"If you want to kill me, you should erase a more intrinsic part of me."
