Magnus gave my shoulder a reassuring squeeze before stepping away.
"I'll just be there..." he said out of nowhere.
My chest tightened, but strangely, I couldn't control myself to move and follow him.
"Magnus?" I called.
His presence faded into the background as he slowly walked toward a large tree nearby. I barely registered what happened, not knowing why he just left me this way.
"Magnus..." I called once more, but he had already sat against a tree, leaning on it as he closed his eyes.
Suddenly, I felt something behind me. When I turned around, I saw someone standing a short distance away. He stood there as if he'd just stepped out of my dreams. He was still as stone, his piercing eyes locked on me.
A heavy silence stretched between us.
My throat tightened, and I let out a soft gasp as I finally called his name. "Xavier..."
