Aria's POV
"Hello, my lovely mate. Didn't think I'd be seeing you this quickly," a voice drawled and my eyes flew open, scanning the room in panic.
There—seated casually on a chair at the side—was Alpha Jaxon. My ex-mate.
The morning light seeped weakly into the cell, its rays slicing across the damp stone walls. My arms were bound high above me, ropes cutting into my wrists. I pulled desperately, twisting and tugging, but the knots were mercilessly tight. Whoever had tied me here had made sure escape was impossible.
"No need to struggle, mate," he whispered, a twisted smile curling his lips. "We're not done with our discussion yet. And only when I've gotten what I came for will I let you go." His low cackle echoed in the hollow space, making my stomach churn.
