Suddenly, the game screen outside went blank, though the microphones still worked. "What happened?" Jane's voice, filled with alarm, came from outside. "The game screen is gone!"
"Don't worry," A.D.'s voice replied, tinged with a solemn finality. "The game is going to end. It's because of that." He took his mic, though he remained seated, unable to get up, knowing he couldn't make it out of here alive. "Shin, you have to go," he urged, his voice strained.
"What?" Shin protested. "We both are going!"
"No, I can't," A.D. insisted, his voice weakening. "The wish power is gone."
"No, I will take you!" Shin cried, reaching for him.
"Don't be foolish," A.D. said, a desperate strength in his voice. "If you try to take me too, we will both die."
"But!" Shin started, his eyes welling with tears.
"You have a family," A.D. continued, his voice softer now. "And I'm not going to let anyone die because of me." He then looked towards the "outside." "Shin, you have to go. And when you rush onto the ship, make a wish to get all of them out from the game. The game is already finished. The people on the ship can make their wish to get out from here."
"I'll talk to Lisa first," Shin said, hesitant.
"No, they will not allow this!" A.D. exclaimed. Then, with a whispered "Sorry," A.D. pushed Shin into the water.
"No!" Shin cried as he plunged in.
From above, A.D.'s voice, though fading, carried across the water. "Remember what I said! Get on the ship and make a wish! Now please, go!"
Shin, heartbroken but understanding, left. He rushed towards the ship.
On the ship, Sharleen anxiously searched for A.D. "Where is A.D.?" she called out. Shin didn't reply, his eyes fixed on A.D.'s distant, fading figure, before he made his wish in a loud voice: "My wish is to get us all out!"
Suddenly, they all found themselves back in the real world, standing in a single place where Jane and Lisa were. Sharleen immediately grabbed Shin's collar. "Why did you do that?" she demanded.
Jane looked around, her eyes wide with fear, realizing A.D. wasn't there. "Where is A.D.?" she whispered, her voice trembling. Shin didn't reply.
Lisa came forward, her face pale. "What happened? Where is A.D.?"
"I am sorry, Ma'am," Shin finally managed to say, tears streaming down his face.
"What?" Lisa choked out.
Shin's voice cracked. "The wish power was gone, and he couldn't make it. I said to you to get him alive... I didn't want to leave him, but he pushed me." Lisa sank to the ground, sobbing uncontrollably. Jane fell beside her, crying hysterically.
Then, suddenly, the game screen flickered back on. A.D.'s voice came through the mic, faint but clear. "Lisa."
"A.D.!" Lisa cried, scrambling forward. "Why did you do that?"
"I'm sorry," A.D.'s voice replied, filled with profound sadness. "I knew I couldn't make it, and I didn't want anyone to die because of me."
"Why? Why? Why did you do that?" Jane sobbed, clutching her head.
"I know you love me," A.D.'s voice continued, a tenderness in his tone. "You didn't forget me. You care about me. And also, that you wouldn't allow me to do that."
"No, you shouldn't have," Lisa cried. "You've already done enough in the past. How can I live now? Because of me, you went there. What will I tell your mother?"
"Jane, what, Mom?" Jane asked, bewildered by Lisa's words.
"I'm sorry, Jane," Lisa replied, tears still streaming. "It was not his second time. It is his third time."
"What are you talking about?" Jane whispered, completely lost.
"When you both got hurt on the way to meet me," Lisa explained, her voice heavy with sorrow, "you were in a coma, and A.D.'s legs were broken. We waited for you for two months. A.D. recovered, but his legs were not completely cured. Doctors said if he got hurt again, he would lose his legs completely."
Just then, the door opened, and a girl walked in.
