Chapter 24 - Chapter:The Reluctant Informant

A.D. stared at the imprisoned boss, his face devoid of emotion. "Will you tell me where that place is?" he demanded.

The boss, a hardened man, remained silent, his gaze defiant. A.D. suddenly heard the unmistakable sound of footsteps approaching the room. The door swung open, and Polly stood there, her eyes blazing with fury as she saw their former tormentor.

"Why did you save him?" Polly snarled, stepping forward. "He tortured us!"

"I need him," A.D. stated, his voice calm.

"But why?" Polly pressed, her anger unwavering.

"I'll tell you later, but for now, leave," A.D. instructed.

"No, I will not!" Polly stood her ground.

"Jane, please get her to leave," A.D. appealed. Jane, sensing the tension, gently took Polly's arm and, after a moment of resistance, led her out, closing the door behind them.

Inside the room, only A.D. and the boss remained.

"Where is that place?" A.D. asked again, his voice low and dangerous. "If you don't tell me, you'll be dead. You know these people will kill you."

The boss's defiance wavered. He licked his lips. "Okay, I'll tell you. But you have to leave me."

"Okay," A.D. agreed, his eyes fixed on the man. "Now tell me."

"It's about five miles from here," the boss revealed, his voice raspy. "It's fully armed. No one can enter the place without permission."

"Then you will come with me," A.D. stated, his words a chilling declaration, not a question.
