Chapter 80 - Chapter 77 – Preparing for the Coming Days

The misty dawn over Uji rolled in gently, blurring the thin horizon between mountain and sky. As Phuby stepped outside with a steaming cup of matcha, the calmness of the rural landscape soaked into his chest like a warm towel after a long day. He looked over the rows of budding tea plants, the rhythmic chirping of birds giving voice to the morning. Spring had settled deep into the land, and life on the farm had adjusted to its quiet tempo.

The farmhouse, now fully renovated, stood behind him like a quiet guardian. Its polished wooden beams and sliding doors gleamed in the early light, embodying a blend of rustic tradition and quiet luxury. The modern additions—hidden solar panels, insulated walls, and updated utilities—remained out of sight, preserving the home's historical aesthetic. It was everything he and Hana had dreamed of: a sanctuary for their small family.

Inside, Hana was carefully dressing Haru and Yui, the twins now three months old and full of expressive energy. They had already begun developing distinct personalities—Haru, curious and always looking around; Yui, more serene and constantly watching her brother. Their presence brought warmth and a rhythm that neither Phuby nor Hana could have anticipated.

"Phu~by," Hana's voice rang out from the kitchen, sing-song and playful.

"Yes, sweetheart?" he said, returning indoors.

"Your mom messaged me. She asked if we needed more sambal. She says Om Luky finished the last bottle."

Phuby laughed. "Of course he did. That man can eat sambal like it's yogurt."

He plopped down beside her at the low table where the babies were playing on a soft quilted mat. "I'll tell her we're good for now. Besides, it's time we try making our own. We've got all the ingredients."

"That's true," Hana nodded. "Farm-to-jars sambal. Premium, family blend."

"We can even brand it," Phuby teased. "Sambal Sawargi—Family Fire."

Hana chuckled while lifting Yui to her lap. "You and your branding."

They spent the rest of the morning planning simple improvements to the farm's production. With the Smart Greenhouse fully installed and the irrigation system running smoothly, they could now branch into more delicate crops. Hana suggested edible flowers; Phuby leaned toward specialty peppers and root vegetables. Both agreed that strawberries would remain their pride.

At noon, Yuji and Yuriko stopped by to report. Kenta had already begun drafting plans for a new tea-processing shed near the edge of the land. It would be modest, but enough to dry and package their own blend of Uji tea.

"We're thinking of naming the first batch after the twins," Yuriko added with a proud grin.

Hana's eyes sparkled. "That's adorable. Haru and Yui Green Blend."

"Elegant," Yuji added, surprising everyone by speaking up more than usual.

Phuby smiled. It warmed him to see how the team was slowly growing into a family of their own.

After lunch, Phuby excused himself and retreated to his small office near the back of the farmhouse. The system shimmered open in the air above his desk, displaying the shop screen. Though nothing new had caught his eye in the current refresh, he was growing more intrigued by the quiet presence of the system in his life.

It had given him tools, advantages, blessings. But over time, Phuby had begun to feel that all of this was leading somewhere bigger—though what exactly, he couldn't guess. Unbeknownst to him, a final hidden mission had already been seeded into the system's framework, silently tracking the conditions for unlocking.

For now, the shop pulsed gently but didn't require his attention. He minimized it and turned instead to drafting a proposal for a small partnership with local Kyoto grocers. A chance to bring Uji Garden Produce to more people.

As the afternoon waned, Hana's best friend Ayaka arrived by local train, her excitement practically bouncing down the gravel path toward the house. She'd promised to visit once the babies were born and the farm settled—and now she was here, arms full of gifts and a dozen questions on her tongue.

"Look at these two little mochi balls!" she squealed upon seeing the twins.

"They're heavier than mochi now," Hana replied, laughing.

Ayaka spent the afternoon with them, marveling at the setup, the view, and even helping Hana prep an early dinner. As night fell, she sat in the engawa with a cup of tea, eyes wide with admiration.

"This doesn't feel real," she said. "It's like a Studio Ghibli film, but you live in it."

Phuby stepped out onto the wooden walkway and looked toward the stars above the hills. "We feel that too. Every morning."

"Must be nice," Ayaka mused. "To have a quiet life… and each other."

Hana leaned her head on Phuby's shoulder. "We didn't plan it like this. But I guess the pieces just kept falling into place."

Later that night, after Ayaka left and the twins were asleep, Phuby and Hana lay on their futon. The windows were open, letting in the cool breeze and soft sounds of nature. Their hands were intertwined.

"Phuby," Hana whispered, "what do you think we'll do when the kids are older?"

"Travel more," he said. "Maybe open a small café somewhere. Teach them about farming. Let them decide what they love."

She smiled sleepily. "Promise we'll still watch anime on Friday nights?"

"Always."

They drifted off into a peaceful slumber, unaware that in the quiet background of the system, invisible to the eye, a line of code had just blinked to life:

Final Mission – Hidden Condition Met: 5% Progress

Objective: [REDACTED]

Reward: Pending — [REDACTED]

And so, the seeds of a greater destiny had begun to sprout—quietly, invisibly, and waiting for their moment to bloom.
