Chapter 356 - Long Days

The sewer stench filled my nostrils as I led our team through the damp, winding tunnels. Water dripped from the curved ceiling, splattering on my shoulders. The dim light from our tactical flashlights cast eerie shadows along the moss-covered walls. My wolf prowled restlessly beneath my skin, every sense heightened for the hunt.

"Status report," my father's voice crackled through the earpiece.

I pressed the transmitter. "We're about half a mile in. No contact yet." I kept my voice low, though sound carried differently down here in these underground channels.

"Be careful, son," Harrison replied, concern evident despite the static. "Something doesn't feel right about this."

"Copy that."
