"You're a bratty, indecisive, emotional basket-case," Lyra declared through the phone, her voice tinged with frustration. "And I'm starting to feel like you've forgotten you even have a sister."
I pulled the phone away from my ear, staring at it in disbelief before pressing it back. "Excuse me? Did you just call me a brat?"
"I absolutely did," Lyra confirmed without hesitation. "Because that's what you're acting like. You've been mooning over Kaelen for weeks now, flip-flopping between 'I want him' and 'I can't have him' so many times I'm getting whiplash. And when was the last time we had a real conversation that wasn't about your werewolf baby daddy drama?"
I sat up straighter in bed, indignation flaring. "That's not fair! I'm literally stuck in the middle of werewolf politics, assassination attempts, and a complicated pregnancy. I've been dealing with a lot here, Lyra."
