# Chapter 82 – The Wounded Alpha
*Gerald's POV*
The chains burned against my wrists.
Silver. Of course they'd use silver. The Shadow Council knew exactly how to hurt a werewolf. The metal seared my skin every time I moved, but I refused to show them how much it hurt.
I'd been hanging here for three days now. Maybe four. It was hard to tell time in this windowless cell. The only light came from a single torch that flickered on the stone wall.
My captors had left me alone for the most part. Just enough food and water to keep me alive. They wanted me weak, but not dead. Not yet.
I knew why they'd taken me. They wanted information about Vanessa. They wanted to know her plans, her weaknesses, her location. They thought they could break me.
They were wrong.
