# CHAPTER 60 – "The Enemy in My Bed"
## POV: Gerald
Living with someone you're planning to betray is like sleeping with a loaded gun under your pillow. Every morning you wake up wondering if today's the day it goes off.
Nanisa's still asleep when I slip out of bed. Takes me ten minutes to get dressed without making noise. Woman sleeps light these days. Any sound and she's awake asking questions I can't answer honest.
The pack house is quiet at this hour. Just before dawn. Guards are changing shifts. Perfect time for moving around without being seen.
I need to get into Nanisa's private study. Been trying for weeks but she keeps it locked and she's got the only key. Except I know she hides a spare behind the loose stone in the hallway. Saw her use it once when she thought I wasn't paying attention.
The key's right where I remember. Small iron thing that looks older than the pack house itself. Probably been passed down through generations of Alpha females.
