# Chapter 50 – Vanessa (POV)
## The Scroll of Names
Damien found me in the garden at sunset. I was sitting by the white roses, trying to clear my mind after another restless day. The Moonstone around my neck felt heavier lately. Like it was trying to tell me something I didn't want to hear.
"Vanessa," Damien said softly. His voice was careful. Worried. "We need to talk."
I looked up at him. My mate. My anchor in this storm of madness that had become my life. His dark eyes held something I had never seen before. Fear.
"What's wrong?" I asked, getting to my feet.
He was holding something in his hands. A roll of old paper tied with black ribbon. It looked ancient. The kind of ancient that spoke of secrets and blood and things better left buried.
"I found this in my family vault," he said. "Hidden behind other documents. I almost missed it completely."
He held the scroll out to me. I stared at it like it might bite.
"What is it?"
"Names," he said simply. "Read it."
