One week later.... Noah's p.o.v
He came to the health department because Toby wanted to see Lucas and since his final class was cancelled, he drove them. Toby is the type of person who fears failure, so he worked hard on studying for his learner's test and was prepared for it. He waited for him outside expecting to be an hour, but Toby walked out in forty minutes in tears. He failed his test and never went back, so now he is Toby's personal driver when Lucas is busy.
"Hi, Alex, did you miss me?"
She hands him a bottle of water and rolls her eyes. That gesture would mean nothing through the naked eye but to him it meant everything. She's opening up to the idea of them being together, they have never spent a day without each other and she never complained.
"No."
She moves away from him, and he smiles drinking his bottle of water. She hands him her bag, and he walks to his car to leave it in the front seat. He walks back to the group and Alex has ear pods on and he was looking at his every step. He moved closer and she handed him her ear pod before he even asked. She likes Thai music, so he is not surprised when he heard William from LYKN or whatever group. Jayden and Leo walked up to the group. He laughed placing two and two together, the was answer equals to Leo's Walk.
"Major respect brother Jay."
Leo punched him and he laughed. Noah pulled Leo into a side hug just to make Jayden jealous, but what he did not mean to do was hurt Leo enough to wince in pain.
"Noah. Let. Him. Go."
Releasing the man, Noah stepped back just in time to see Jayden on the verge of shifting. A crowd of humans lingered nearby oblivious, but dangerously close to getting caught in the middle of something far beyond their understanding. Jayden didn't care. His expression was dark, his body radiating fury and something deeper something protectively possessive. He was ready to fight, not for dominance, but for his fated. He knows that he was in the wrong but still, his wolf instinctively bristled at Jayden's growl, taking it as a challenge. Before the situation could spiral, Leo threw himself between them, planting a firm hand on Jayden's chest.
"Not here," he growled low. "Not now." And then everything shifted.
A warm, soft hand pressed against his chest, grounding him. Pulling him back. Alex. Her touch alone was enough. His wolf, wild and on the edge, bowed beneath her presence, falling still. He didn't need her to say a single word. Her silence was powerful comforting, commanding. She had that effect on him. She always did. Noah blinked slowly, breath returning to normal, reality sinking back in. Noah exhaled shakily. The weight of his guilt settled heavy on his shoulders. If Leo decided to kick his ass, Noah wouldn't stop him. He wouldn't even try. He deserved it.
"Sorry Leo. Your man was ready to bare his wolf to humans. Shit, that was close. We were going to fight for him to have the privilege to rip my head off." He laughs awkwardly before he let out, "I would have totally deserved it... So, you two finally?"
He counted to three. One. Two. Three.
"Silence? Okay. Awesome. Today we should defiantly celebrate, Toby and I won Moon competition for our respective faculties. Jayden is graduating next year. Lucas is finally out of the closet around Zippy's father. Alex is my plus one to my brothers, Logan's wedding. Leo has a protective mate, congratulations by the way. Drinks?"
"I am going where?"
"You said if I win you will do me a favour. I chose the wedding unless you want that other one, we were talking about?"
His face lit up probably because he also preferred that one. She flushed and said nothing after some time she punched his shoulder twice enough that it actually hurt.
"Ahh, what the hell?!"
"That is for hurting my friend... No. The wedding is fine. Drinks!"
"What is the other thing?"
Leo asks confused as to why one of his best friends face and ears is still red. Regrettably, she ignored the man... he considered his fated mates' friend and faced the man that started all of this.
"Tell them and the drinks will be on you. Literally."
"Now you have to spill it. Noah."
This time Toby begged him as a best friend, but he did not budge.
"Nah, sorry Zippy the luna has spoken. I have a better idea. Alex?"
He stood up stretches his hand out to help the embarrassed Alex, but she got up without his help. She then followed him which also worked out fine, he will drive them to her flat then the bar.
"I need a date to my brother's wedding. If I do not bring a date my mother will love nothing more than to set me up with every single woman there."
He closed the door and watched his fated roll her eyes as she clipped the seat belt.
"Oh no. That sounds terrible..."
She said sarcastically.
"It is because I am only into you right now. Being with anyone else just wouldn't t feel right."
"Nonsense." she faced away from him, and he started the car not expecting her next words. "I will be your equal, Agreed? Meaning we will throw our werewolf trashy actions one side and focus one the human part. I don't want to be treated like a mate or lesser in status.
Laughing out loud, he stopped when he realized she was being serious and when saw her seriousness he nodded.
"I am a Deucalion. Alex I am who I am. Compared to me you are smaller, so much smaller and more beautiful. So perfect I just want to protect and take care of you. I don't say that because I think you are lesser, my instincts are impossible to change. Every decision action and thought I make, although not always properly thought out is considered. We are not just our wolves, butwe are not completely human too but if that request makes you happy, sure. I will try."
"You think too much of me, but it is in our control to not be our animal although I get where you are coming from. Did you have to be mean to Jayden and Leo?"
"No but it was fun. Jayden has been teasing me though out my past relationships. My first girlfriend in middle school. My first love, first date, first break up and first kiss. Oh, and not mention my first time I was sixteen granted she also was my first love, Sun. Jay was there for all my firsts, so he got in a couple of low blows in. So yes, this was satisfying although I really did not mean to hurt Leo."
"Mmn okay. Please drive me home I am tired. Tell the guys I will see them tomorrow."
Nodding he did not think to stop her maybe she's tired, she has been more quiet than usual. He will just drop her off and drive to celebrate with his department and friends.

Sitting down he grabbed his glass swinging the content and finally relaxing. He is in progress of courting his mate. His parents will fall in love with Alex he knows for sure. Her wit, her awkward sense of humour and her neat quirks... Her innocence, her dimples, her beauty and strength she has... They will fall like he did. He was so relaxed in his own world focused on his Alex and fantasies. Life is going great until Lucas opened up his mouth.
"Where is Lex?"
"I dropped her off at her place. She said that she's tired and will see you both tomorrow."
Lucas and Leo shared a look. Lucas at last let go of a comfortable looking Toby who rested on his chest nursing his pink milk virgin cocktail all these places seem to all sell, scrolling about on what has to be Lucas's phone. Toby shot him a sharp glare as if Noah compelled his boyfriend to make him sit up straight. Lucas did kiss his omegas forehead, and he relaxed feigning disinterest in their conversation once more.
"What did you say?" - Lucas
"Hey. I said nothing. Why is it assumed that I did something wrong?"
"Because you are short of being an idiot. You upset Lex. Lucas and I want to know how so we can fix it."
Noah growled....
"I said nothing that would make her upset. We spoke about our deal, then we spoke about why I give Jay here a hard time. Bro, I told her about the hustle you put me though when I was with my ex-girlfriends."
Suddenly it felt the bar got quite and the way the group was zeroing on him.
"Do you think he got it?"
Lucas faced his friend and both men faced him at the same time.
"No. He still has a stupid look on his face.'
Leo again took a shot at him but this time he let it slide. If this man was destined to be with Jayden, that was punishment enough. Finally, Toby got up sat down next to him taking the glass from his hand.
"In your statement did you not hear anything that could possibly annoy, upset or make your girlfriend... I don't know possessive? The hint is that 'you messed up' but can you see where? "
What's up with the second degree tonight? Toby looked into his eyes as if he is really hoping he gets this.
"Girlfriends? I mean I only told her about the bad times. My first time when I was sixteen, my first kiss with Sun, first love, breakups..."
Still expectant they all remained silent, until he got why Alex would be upset. She might be jealous of his past lovers.
"And?" -Toby
"I'm an idiot."
Now he knows how Jack must feel when his the last to get something although Jack has a condition... besides this relationship could barely be considered a relationship, and he was already screwing it up. Leo is right, he is an idiot. And what will deem him a permanent member as a fool is if he screws up so bad he is forced to let his fated go.
"Hey finally. He said it. Let us drink."
Leo, Jayden and Lucas drank to that. Noah rolled his eyes and faced his best friend who was over the moon to see his best friend serious with someone.
"Do you think she misunderstood my intention? Are doctors not supposed to express their emotions, especially if they listen to people's problems all day? Why does she not talk to me if I say something stupid or something that displease her?"
"Then the conversation will never end." -Leo
"Seriously? His already down." - Toby
Toby defended him although his trapped in his drama to even care what shots Leo takes.
"Okay. Good. Then he can consider himself forgiven. Besides if he manages to not be single or whatever that relationship is dragging towards, lunch will be on me." - Leo
He muttered getting up ignoring the haters comment. He left his bill behind, intent on spiting on Jayden's temper.
"And we are not those types of doctors!"
Lucas muttered back. Nothing was more important to him than to return to his fated mate and fix the mess he caused with his inability to not think before he speaks.
